An Uncorroborated Report From the Area of Camp Pendleton

Because I live in Orange County, CA, I am hearing that something is up at Camp Pendleton which is, seemingly, unprecedented.

A woman I am friends with told me that she has lived in Coto De Caza, CA (it's a country club area) perhaps 8-12 miles (as the crow flies) from Pendleton, and she has never heard "anything like it."

For the past "two weeks" there has been "non-stop night time bombing" exercises going on.

She said that in the past 12 years she has never heard bombing for more than one night, and even then, it's only been a few bombs.

I asked her if some of the bombs were bigger than any she had ever heard before, and she said, "Yes."

Is Camp Pendleton conducting practice night time raids against Iran?

  1. I doubt it, the US has much more appropriate bombing ranges for that in Nevada and other places. Pendelton is too close to populations centers.

  2. Dude, thats great if its true. Iran needs a slap on the wrist but what youre reporting here is not good. Id rather not hear it if its true because such information is only of any use to the enemy. If the media hears of it and connects the dots then any suprise attack will be impossible. Dont be a spy for them dude.

  3. They're dropping 1000 lbs Mk 82's (snake eyes).

    I'm from OC too.

Because they drop way inland, back by the mountains, the sound is projected by the mountains themselves. Usually they bomb the punchbowl in the Chocolate Mountains, east of the Salton Sea. They've been recently using the Pendleton Range again because they are doing an EOD sweep and clean-up of the range north of Yuma.

  4. Actually they are practicing for the headquarters of United Health Care, Aetna, Cigna, Oxford Health, Anthem and Mega.

That is about as far as the marshal desires of this group imagines.

  5. LL,
You probably know far more about it than I.

I didn't know, for instance, that they also practice out by Salton Sea. I had not idea.

Yeah, that was another thought that came to mind.

  7. "Dude" Dude,
If we bomb Iran, they have no choice but to lay back an enjoy it. I don't think we need the element of surprise.

  8. Matrix,
According to LL, you are likely correct.

  9. The MOP has only been tested at the White Sands Missile Range in Utah; the same place where they tested the MOAB and the original Trinity atomic bomb. As Matrix said, Camp Pendleton is too close to a population center and it has never really had a history as an experimental weapons test site.

  10. In regard to El Centro and the Salton Sea: it is currently used as a training site for U.S. and British helicopter crews as the terrain and temperature there resembles the environment in Afghanistan closely.

  11. I hesitated to post this, cuz I know so little about the military. But, I'm glad I did, because I'm learning. Thanks, Total.

  12. More than likely it's Marine F/A-18s doing some runs. Obama WILL not fight Iran. I find it amusing people thinks he will.

Secondly, the Marines don't have any aircraft that can carry those big ass bunker busters. The Air Force does and they have their own ranges and more secluded.

Why would Hussein bomb Iran yet doesn't allow the Marines to use CAS during combat in Afghan villages? Obama is a punk wimp. Just acknowledge it already.

  13. "Obama is a punk wimp. Just acknowledge it already."

There is no need to acknowledge what is obvious.

  15. Yes, I made a mistake. It's in New Mexico.
