Family in Muslim clothing ejected from flight at Memphis International

This is very likely a staged incident, a la the "Flying Imams", designed to bring out another round of "Islamophobia" press releases from CAIR.

Think about this. Why was the guy in the bathroom, "for an extended period of time", when the flight was taxiing on the runway.

That is not allowed. If he was ill, or had some special problem that required consideration, the polite thing for ANYONE to have done would have been to inform the Flight Attendants that you might require a long restroom visit.

Yes, I'm quite sure this was a staged incident.
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A family dressed in traditional Muslim clothing was ejected from a plane Tuesday at Memphis ... Officials said the incident happened after personnel on Comair flight originating in Dallas and destined for Toronto became concerned about the family.

When the man of the family exited a bathroom, after spending an extended period inside, a flight attendant noticed the toilet was broken. Meanwhile, the plane was taxiing to the runway.

The man and his family were ejected and questioned by the FBI, but a bomb sniffing dog found nothing wrong and no one was charged.

The family was then re-accommodated on another flight.

"My understanding is they were dressed in attire that would indicate some Muslim type religion," said Scott Brockman, Memphis International Airport's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Meanwhile, a Comair spokesperson said the appearance of this family nothing to do with the decision to have the plane checked. Safety was the only concern, the spokesperson said.

The fight was delayed in Memphis for nearly two hours because of the incident.

  1. It may have been staged to make Juan Williams look bad and NPR less so.

  2. Yes, I should have noted that. I think it is a "See, I told you so," kind of staged event, to be followed up with Press Releases, and TV appearances from top-level CAIR Jihadists.
