Politics In America Today

A few posts down, Pastorius called our attention to this video:

Another excerpt from CEO Steve Wynn HERE at Business Insider, dated July 18, 2011:
[Obama] keeps making speeches about redistribution and maybe we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest, their holding too much money. We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists. Everybody's afraid of the government and there's no need soft peddling it, it's the truth. It is the truth. And that's true of Democratic businessman and Republican businessman, and I am a Democratic businessman and I support Harry Reid. I support Democrats and Republicans. And I'm telling you that the business community in this company is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the President of the United States. And until he's gone, everybody's going to be sitting on their thumbs.

Certainly, Obama is not to blame for all our economic woes, nor can he fix our ailing economy. That said, Obama is on record as having proposed the following:

Read the transcript HERE.

Sure, the above occurred in 2001. But has Barack Hussein Obama changed his basic political and economic philosophy? I submit that he has not! Most recently, his speeches consistently demonize the wealthy, and yesterday he issued this executive order as he blatantly bypasses Congress, which will not pass his jobs bill. He has also voiced support of Occupy Wall Street, a movement that defines itself as follows:
a horizontally organized resistance movement employing the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to restore democracy in America.
Can the American electorate see what's happening?

He might not be to blame for all but I'd go with 'most.'
He might not can fix the economy but he doesn't have to destroy it more and faster either.

  2. SK,
Clearly what Obama is doing is making our ailing economy worse.

Now, let's say that the GOP takes power in 2012. Just how are they going to "fix" this mess?

  3. Never fear AoW, they won't do much better.
We will not be any more free under the Reps rule than we are now. Probably less so.
All my life I was told "Just give us all 3 branches of gov't and we'll turn this country around".
    Yeah.
    Right.
Can anyone name 3 freedom-robbing laws the Reps want to repeal?
    Me either.

I keep telling my conservative friends that very same thing. They won't believe me!!!

I tell you that conservatives are living in some kind of fantasy land on that matter. Ugh.

I'm not solidly rooting for any one GOP candidate yet, though admittedly, I've totally dismissed Huntsman, Romney, Johnson, Paul thus far . . .there is some interesting noise coming from Newt Gingrich.

Again, admittedly, Newt Gingrich's marital history reflects poorly on potential integrity, and as much as it will be difficult for conservative's to overlook an abundance of Gingrich’s historic flaws (NY '10 Scozzofava interference , sharing the bench w/Pelosi re:man-made global warming , and going way back to the '80's - support4statism reflected in the 8 book reading list Gingrich provided to Congress which included “The Third Wave” by Alvin Toffler", a very progressive book which in chapter 28 calls the constitution obsolete & requiring a new vision... AND then Gingrich also wrote the forward for another of Toffler’s published works, "“Creating a New Civilization” … all clearly disturbing associations for a "conservative".

Despite all that, Gingrich's superior intellect IS is reflected in this, his latest solidly constitutional campaign effort: Newt Gingrich - Exposes America's Cancer
This is Newt Gingrich's speech at The Values Voters Summit on October 7, 2011. Here he exposes many profound realities that combine to produce the tumor of the cancer that has been eating away at America for decades now.
The full excerpt is about 15 minutes. Also for sake of brevity and importance, the most outstanding points are each made available on a separate clips:
