From Atlas:
Sandmonkey: "We Majorly Failed"
I disagreed with the popular and initially pro-freedom Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey back in the beginning of 2011, and had a public falling out with him over my insistence that the Muslim Brotherhood was very much a major player in the overthrow of Mubarak and whatever freedom Egyptians had enjoyed under his government. It wasn't pretty. I expressed my distress here. He hurled. But now Sandmonkey is tacitly admitting that I was right all along. His attack on me is now nowhere to be found on the interwebs. And now he is conceding that the position I took was right all along, and that the "Arab Spring" in Egypt was not a secular democracy movement, but a push toward Sharia:
"We majorly failed," concedes Mahmoud Salem, a popular pro-democracy activist and blogger who tweets as "Sandmonkey." "The secular revolutionaries and leftists didn't focus on moving beyond Tahrir and engaging the streets, listening to the demands of the people. So right now, we have to reassess and plan before we move forward."
Go read the whole thing.
Reassess? Yeah, good luck with that.
You squandered the opportunity of a life time.
Frankly, FUCK YOU!
Fuck you for lying to yourself and the world, when it was most critical that you be honest.
(Not that anyone on this blog bought his bullshit, even for a second.)
Fucking Stockholm captive, jizya-slurping Dhimmi.
Denial on the Nile.
ReplyDeleteThese people who hated Mubarak for good reason clearly lied to themselves because they just could not believe the bitter truths they knew in their hearts about their fellow muslims. While they did that, morons in the US govt ran to fulfill their own denial by seizing upon the 'sandmonkeys' there and here to propound the same ABSURD prognostications
Until the ME learns that freedom does not include Islam, these "Arab Springs" will aways be a failure.
ReplyDeleteAnd to be honest, it is the women who need to take a wake up pill. For it is they who stand to lose the most with an Islamic government.
It sickens me when I hear them support Islamic regimes.
