Archbishop of Canterbury: let Muslims convert

Actually, it is the former Archbishop of Canterbury. He isn't just protesting the death sentence against a Christian women in the Sudan. He is asking Muslims in the UK to support the right of conscience and allow conversion to other religions. (See this article.)

This is shocking on several accounts. First of all, the fact that he is a former Archbishop only emphasizes the fact that he was silent during his tenure. Sadly, this has been the pattern. Prince Charles and Tony Blair have both noted that near extinction of Christian communities in the Middle East where Christianity was founded. Guys, couldn't you have said something before?

Secondly, the UK led the world in the establishment of  freedom of conscience going back to John Locke's "A Letter Concerning Toleration" in the 17th century. That it has lost that freedom with as little as a whimper is outrageous. He points out that ex-Muslims have been forced to "almost go underground" in England!

Finally, British Muslims deny the prohibition against conversion. Once again, instead of facing the problem and reforming the religion, they just lie. There can be no change before step one: first admit that you have a problem. Sadly, the press refuses to confront the lie.
