Underlying the Bergdahl ‘desertion’ charge is a more disquieting possibility

Recently, for those who notice such things, the Pentagon has an official PRESS LIAISON/SECRETARY analogous to Mr. Earnest’s position with the White House

This morning I watched him attempt to refute the report that Bergdahl was about to be charged with desertion.

He delivered a smirk in the midst of this.

Alarm bells went off. Then a self paranoia alert. And then, the final personal Defcon 2 …’by the time you think you are being paranoid, the problem is usually that you are not being paranoid enough’

This gentleman, REAR ADMIRAL John Kirby is an able spokesman. Calm, always appearing to deliver information relevant to the question, and appearing truthful.

However, I cannot remember any officer of NEARLY this rank performing this task. In fact, I believe previously this function was performed by professional civilians from the political sector.

Which brings the question, (no offense intended, Admiral, BUT…) is the upper level of officers in the US Armed forces now comprised  of POLITICIANS?

Not politically skilled officers, but POLITICIANS?

If so aren’t we TOTALLY SCREWED IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE MANNER?

  1. For those keeping score at home, he is the equivalent of a 1 or 2 star General.

Obama has, as you have noted before, been active in gutting the officer ranks of the military, particularly the higher officers, charging them with having girlfriends and gambling and the like.

He has replaced some and simply eliminated the positions of many.

If he would do what he does with Judges OF COURSE he would do the same thing with the officers of the military.

  2. Exactly why the hairs on my neck suddenly stood on end.

We face MANY serious challenges of which ISIS etc are just one.

In 1935-41 Stalin replaced his generals with politicians and craven careerists trying to be not noticed.

Had the USSR not been so huge and with a huge population advantage vs Geermany, the war would have ended with no Stalin and no USSR because the generals who were politicians were not truly WARRIORS. The room to retreat and LOSE over and over saved the USSR.

Today, in the US navy, alone the thoughts on war are ONE SALVO and win.

I don't know what will happen, but I am certain it won't be one salvo and and if politicians are military leaders, I am not certain AT ALL we will win, even against China, which is JUST ONE MISSION.

Our position in the world right now, is as perilous as it has EVER been in history, not ONLY because of foreign issues and challenges, but because THE PEOPLE of the USA have chosen to follow a very dangerous path.

Obama is the RESULT, not the problem. HE is the SYMPTOM, not the disease.

    His approval is 50%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WTF will take???

  3. What follows has nothing to do with this issue, but I just visited the FB page of a VERY liberal friend of mine and this is what she had posted. I don´t know much about these women, except I like the Republican and fear Warren. Any true facts in the article. I believe you guys are a lot more politically sophisticated than moi ...

Thanks if you have some comments.

  4. The following quote might be revealing...
Rear Admiral John Kirby: "I don’t know how he (Bergdahl) has been given charges when he hasn’t been charged with a crime yet. There have been no charges filed against Sgt. Bergdahl. Nor would we ever, before charges were filed against a service member, give him a heads up, “Hey, here’s what’s coming.” That’s just not the way the process works. We’re just not there yet."

    ****Got that?*****

Nor would we ever, before charges were filed against a service member, give him a heads up,

This Rear Admiral may present his case professionally under normal circumstances, but nothing about this administration presents normal circumstances.

Enemy rhetoric is ranching up, even threatening dear leader this week.

Can anyone confirm Bergdahl's current whereabouts? He's already gone AWOL a couple of times. He is a flight risk, and given his allegiance to the enemy, a dangerous flight risk.
