Ahmadinejad's Special Little Prayer

Hugh Hewitt points two main things out from Ahmadinejad's speech for the UN general assembly.
1- He "repeatedly attacked the legitimacy of the State of Israel"
2- He "made a lengthy attack on the legitimacy of the Security Council"
3- The third point is somewhat special. As Hugh points out, probably a part of his speech that will conveniently be ignored by most.
One of the things I can never understand regarding the approach of the 'left' when dealing with Iran, is that they seemingly ignore every single thing extremists like Ahmadinejad say: for those who take the time to actually listen, Ahmadinejad is not exactly making a secret out of his worldviews. He prayed for the return of the 12th Imam and emphasized that he was actively pursuing before mentioned return:
"I am emphatically declare that today's world more than ever before longs for just and righteous people with love for all humanity, and above all longs for the perfect, righteous human being and the real savior who has been promised to all peoples and who will establish justice, peace and brotherhood on the planet. [The Twelfth Imam] Oh Almighty God, all men and women are your creatures and you have ordained their guidance and salvation. Bestow upon humanity that thirst for justice, the perfect human being promised to all by you, and make us among his followers among those who strive for his return and his cause."

Pastorius points out at the IBA that if the MSM will pay any attention to it (and the only reason for them doing so, will be because people like Mark Steyn will not let them get away with ignoring this 'prayer'), they will most likely compare it to Christians who believe in the return of Christ.
When they do, they do not realize that there is one major difference: Christians who believe in the physical return of Christ believe that, indeed, he will return in a major war (as do those who believe in the 12th Imam)... but: those Christians believe that he will return when the forces or evil and good have clashed (for a long while already) and that before mentioned war was caused by the forces of evil; the forces of good are merely fighting back. With the 12th Imam it is a different story: those who 'strive for his return', believe that they themselves must cause a major war and the 12th Imam will help finish it off.

  1. The "lefties" never listen to anything anyone says..... Mostly because they don't believe that anyone would be telling the truth... They never do.....

  2. Yes, there is a very key difference in the differing "end-times" beliefs. And I've seen no one mention it in the MSM save Benjamin Netanyahu in a few of his interviews at the beginning of the Israeli/Hizballah war. He just worked that into what he was saying, as they would obviously never have invited him on to just talk about Shi'a apocalyptic beliefs and Ahmadinejad's belief in them. What is it going to take to wake people up to this one?

This speech at the UN business had a strong ring of the 1936 Olympics in it to me.

  3. That war will start when we burn the mosques for what they do to our children right here at home in a Beslan style attack. That's what they want, to unite the sects for full fledged jihad.
