Well, here is the real deal on this system. If there is any doubt we are talking about the Russian Shkval in the hands of the Iranians, it will be goen afteer you read the details and then compare them to what the Iranians are claiming.
It's time to call the Russians bluff, and call them to task.
Not only is it hard for me to believe that this was stolen from the Russians, but it's presence means that the Russians have been working with the Iranians to kill thousands of americans in the event the american govt find it compulsory to attack Iranian nuclear weapons sites in order to safeguard the american people.
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Epa,
You think they really do have a super-torpedo?
If anyone has not read Raphael Patai's The Arab Mind, then RUN, don't walk, to the nearest copy. He deals with the "Arab" mind, but makes it very clear that he is also dealing with its identity, the "Islamic" mind. The ol' Persians are not Arabs, but they sure as hell are Islamists, which makes them think like Arabs. My point, which I can now get to, is that the Barnum and Bailey propaganda coming from Iran is just that.
This "torpedo" is a piece of crap. John Pike [damn, I forgot his organization] said this device was first invented by the Russians, and it is a piece of trash. It has essentially no range, and it lacks accuracy. If it hits anything, it is because the object is very close, and the laws of probability worked in its favor.
We are witnessing history repeating. After all, as Lord Bolingbroke said in the 17th century, "History is philosophy teaching by example." The history we are watching repeated is at about 1938 and pertains to Nazi Germany. Translate that to 2006 and Iran, which is so Nazi-like that it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.
The "Arab mind" part of this comes in with the love of braggadocio and the substitution of words for deeds. They are so locked into the primacy of consciousness thinking that they truly believe that to proclaim it makes it as real as doing it. That makes them very, very dangerous, indeed.
Don't take my word for it. Read Patai.
The thing is, I posted an article on IBA in which I made fun of the recent Iranian press releases about their super-weapons. The fact is, their claims are illogical, and when not illogical, unlikely. However, Epa has, here, made a case for the idea that Russia may have actually sold Iran this torpedo. If so, then Iran has a seemingly powerful weapon.
However, any powerful weapon Iran may possess will be outmatched by our arsenal.
The question isn't whether we can defeat Iran. The question is how much death and destruction will result.
I think it is likely George Mason is the more correct here. I'd love to hear what Epa has to say.
