A former Democratic national security adviser assailed Republican presidential front-runnerMitt Romneyfor lacking a grasp of foreign policy and said the former Massachusetts governor would return the U.S. to the policies of George W. Bush.“If we take seriously what he has been saying in the course of the campaign, we have every reason to be very worried,” former U.S. National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital With Al Hunt,” airing this weekend. “He probably subscribes to the notions articulated by his Republican predecessor,” George W. Bush, Brzezinski said.Romney is surrounding himself with advisers from the Bush administration, and he doesn’t display a “broad grasp of what is unique about this century, how it differs from the preceding one,” said Brzezinski, who was President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser. In Brzezinski’s view, the best candidate to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a second term for Obama would be Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat and former presidential nominee. Chuck Hagel, a former Senate Republican from Nebraska, also would be “awfully good,” he said.
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Right on Cue..AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker:“conservative, right-wing policies that are to blame” for Trayvon Martin‘s death
AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker told The Daily Caller that it is “conservative, right-wing policies that are to blame” for Trayvon Martin‘s death.Martin was a black teenager shot and killed by an Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer. The shooting, and the police department’s decision to not arrest the suspect, George Zimmerman, has caused an uproar in Florida and across the country. (RELATED: Full coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting)“The same folks who want to kill workers’ rights in the work place are the same folks who want to kill voters’ votes … and now they are literally supporting legislation that is literally killing our children.”

Biden: “We Want To Create A Global Minimum Tax”
“For years, American manufacturers have faced one of the highest tax rates in the world. We want to reduce that by over 20%. We want to drop the rate, particularly, for high-tech manufacturers like you, Mr. President, even further than the 20%,” Vice President Joe Biden said at a manufacturing plant in Davenport, Iowa this week. “We want to create (what’s called) a global minimum tax, because American taxpayers shouldn’t be providing a larger subsidy for investing abroad than investing at home,” Biden said at a campaign event.

The Horror.
I'd like to see Hamid Karzai respond to this. I'd like to see all of Afghanistan and the world, for that matter, respond with the same praise as they did vitriol and condemnation for Staff Sgt Robert Bales.
But I won't hold my breath.

Army sergeant who gave life to save Afghan child being flown home for burial
This image, obtained from WPRI.com, shows 29-year-old Sgt. Dennis Weichel.
An Army sergeant and father of three from Rhode Island who gave his life to save an Afghan child from being run over by a 16-ton armored fighting vehicle is being flown back to the U.S. and will be buried Monday.Sgt. Dennis Weichel, 29, died in Afghanistan last week after he dashed into the path of an armored fighting vehicle to scoop up the little girl, who had darted back into the roadway to pick up shell casings, according to the Army. Weichel, a Rhode Island National Guardsman, was riding in the convoy in Laghman Province in eastern Afghanistan when he jumped out to save the girl, who was unhurt.
“He would have done it for anybody,” Staff Sgt. Ronald Corbett, who deployed with Weichel to Iraq in 2005, said in a quote posted on the U.S. Army website. “That was the way he was. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was that type of guy.”
The child was one of several who were collecting the casings, which can be sold and recycled in Afghanistan. Weichel and other soldiers in the convoy got out of their vehicles to shoo the kids from danger as the heavy trucks bore down. But the girl ran back onto the road as a MRAP, or Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle, approached. Weichel swung the girl to safety but was run over and later died from his injuries at Jalalabad Medical Treatment Facility, according to a press release from the Rhode Island National Guard.
Weichel, who had been a member of the Rhode Island National Guard since 2001, had arrived in Afghanistan a few weeks ago. He was a member of C Company, 1st Battalion, 143 Infantry. Weichel was previously deployed to Iraq in 2005 as a member of 3/172 Det 2 Mountain Infantry.
Weichel, who lived in Providence and was engaged to be married, leaves his parents, fiancee and three young children. His body is scheduled to be flown to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on Saturday. Weichel will be buried in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
“Tragically, Spc. Weichel has made the supreme sacrifice and at this time, we are mindful of the impact of that sacrifice on his family and friends," said Maj. Gen. Kevin McBride, adjutant general of the Rhode Island National Guard, in a written statement. "We leave no Soldier behind.... and we will not leave Spc. Weichel’s family behind.”

Barack Obama Snags Coveted Pravda Endorsement
Weekly Standard:
Pravda on Mitt Romney: 'Out-Of-Touch, Out-Of-Date, Unelectable'
Pravda is hitting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney over comments he made about Russia. "Russia is the geopolitical foe," Romney said earlier this week in response to President Obama telling his Russian counterpart to give him "space" so that he could have "more flexibility" after the 2012 presidential election.
So, in an op-ed today posted on Pravda's website, the infamous former Soviet newspaper writes, "Electing Mitt Romney as the next President of the United States of America would be like appointing a serial paedophile as a kindergarten teacher, a rapist as a janitor at a girls' dormitory or a psychopath with a fixation on knives as a kitchen hand. His comments on Russia are a puerile attempt at making the grand stage and boy, did he blow it..."
Pravda goes on to question American democracy and say that Romney is just an "adolescent" school boy:
Somewhat like Condoleezza Rice did before the Bush regime was er..."elected" ..., Mitt Romney takes the chance to mouth off about Russia, calling her "our number one geopolitical foe" which fights "every cause for the world's worst actors". Unfortunately, such vapid stupidity has become commonplace among senior US politicians, providing the rest of the world with a telling insight as to the real nature of the political class in that country - out of touch, out of date and dangerously jingoistic. In short, overgrown self-opinionated schoolboys with super-egos but nothing whatsoever to back it up with.
True, it feels great to slag off another country's cuisine and say, for example, that "Mexican food is crap! American food is far better!" Adolescent-type comments such as these generally provoke a session of back-patting, and a ra-ra-ra raucous explosion of national pride which after a few drinks degenerates into "My God is better than your God" and then "My President could smack the crap out of yours".
Fine for grade school playgrounds. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where this upstart nonentity Mitt Romney belongs, certainly not to the intricate and complex wheels and cogs of world policy and nowhere near a red button. Imagine this guy as President!
Then, Pravda praises present Russian relations with the United States under President Obama. "Exactly at a time when Russia and the USA are finding that they have far more in common than differences, exactly when they see that they are much more friends than foes, when they see that there is so much to be gained through collaboration, a foul-mouthed, big-headed oaf like Romney with more money than sense makes a comment that reveals who he really is to the world: a pea-brained, pith-headed simpleton with too much testosterone and too little common sense, with zero tact, no diplomacy and a paramount grasp on the intricacies of world politics. A prize, good-for-nothing ignoramus," writes Pravda.
The piece ends by threatening Romney. "So talking about geopolitical foes...next time Mitt Romney had better back off, butt out and mind his manners, so as not to appear like a foul-mouthed guttersnipe whose utter ignorance and pig-headed arrogance is only too clear for all to see. See how he walked straight into this one, ladies and gentlemen? Imagine THAT as your President..."
The opinion piece is titled, "Mitt Romney: Out-of-touch, out-of-date, unelectable."

Rep. Bobby Rush Dons "Hoodie" on House Floor
Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush, of Illinois, was asked to leave the House floor Wednesday after taking off his suit jacket to reveal a hooded sweatshirt, also referred to as a "hoodie," which Rush then proceeded to place over his head to protest the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida.
"Racial profiling has to stop," said Rush as he removed his suit jacket. "Just because someone is wearing a hoodie, doesn't make them a hoodlum."
Greg Harper, R-Miss., the House presiding officer, repeatedly banged his gavel before citing Clause 5, Rule 17, which prohibits wearing hats in the chamber.
"The donning of a hood is not consistent with this rule," said Harper, who asked the Sergeant at Arms to enforce the prohibition.
Martin's parents appeared on Capitol Hill Tuesday with several members of the Congressional Black Caucus, including Rush, who have called for the arrest of George Zimmerman.
Zimmerman allegedly shot and killed Martin in February. His lawyers have said he acted in self-defense.

New York City would be horrified at the words we used in school and I turned out fine. Right?
CBS New York:
War On Words: NYC Dept. Of Education Wants 50 ‘Forbidden’ Words Banned From Standardized Tests
'Dinosaur,' 'Birthday,' 'Halloween,' 'Poverty,' 'Divorce' Among Those Suggested
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — George Carlin is rolling over in his grave.
The New York City Department of Education is waging a war on words of sorts, and is seeking to have words they deem upsetting removed from standardized tests.
Fearing that certain words and topics can make students feel unpleasant, officials are requesting 50 or so words be removed from city-issued tests.
The word “dinosaur” made the hit list because dinosaurs suggest evolution which creationists might not like, WCBS 880′s Marla Diamond reported. “Halloween” is targeted because it suggests paganism; a “birthday” might not be happy to all because it isn’t celebrated by Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Julie Lewis’ family celebrates Christmas and Kwanzaa, but she told CBS 2′s Emily Smith she wants her children to appreciate and learn about other holidays and celebrations.
“They’re going to meet people from all walks of life and they’re going to have to learn to adjust,” Lewis said.
Words that suggest wealth are excluded because they could make kids jealous. “Poverty” is also on the forbidden list. That’s something Sy Fliegal with the Center for Educational Innovation calls ridiculous.
“The Petersons take a vacation for five days in their Mercedes … so what? You think our kids are going to be offended because they don’t have a Mercedes? You think our kids are going to say ‘I’m offended; how could they ask me a question about a Mercedes? I don’t have a Mercedes!’” Fliegal said.
In a throwback to “Footloose,” the word “dancing” is also taboo. However, there is good news for kids that like “ballet”: The city made an exception for this form of dance.
Also banned are references to “divorce” and “disease,” because kids taking the tests may have relatives who split from spouses or are ill.
Some students think banning these words from periodic assessment tests is ridiculous.
“If you don’t celebrate one thing you might have a friend that does it. So I don’t see why people would find it offensive,” Curtis High School Sophomore Jamella Lewis told Diamond.
Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott said the DOE is simply giving guidance to the test developers.
“So we’re not an outlier in being politically correct. This is just making sure that test makers are sensitive in the development of their tests,” Walcott said Monday.
To which Fliegal responded: “It’s all of life! I don’t know how they figure out what not to put on the list. Every aspect of life is on the list.”
There are banned words currently in school districts nationwide. Walcott said New York City’s list is longer because its student body is so diverse.
Here is the complete list of words that could be banned:
Abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, or psychological)
Alcohol (beer and liquor), tobacco, or drugs
Birthday celebrations (and birthdays)
Bodily functions
Cancer (and other diseases)
Catastrophes/disasters (tsunamis and hurricanes)

Sympathy for the Devil: Saul Alinksy's Amoral, Ends-Justify-the-Means Style
From Ace
Good piece from John Fund, quoting from a 1972 Playboy interview of Obama's political mentor. But just before his death in 1972, he synthesized the lessons he had learned into a book called “Rules for Radicals,” in which he urged radicals to make common cause with anyone to further their ends. The book was even dedicated, presumably tongue in cheek, to Lucifer, “the very first radical,” who “rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom.” Alinsky argued for moral relativism in fighting the establishment: “In war the end justifies almost any means. . . . The practical revolutionary will understand [that] in action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent both with one’s individual conscience and the good of mankind.”Go read the whole thing.
Where did Alinsky get this amorality? Clues can be found in a Playboy magazine interview he gave in 1972, just before his death. In the closest thing to a memoir Alinsky left, he told how he decided to do his (never-completed) doctoral dissertation in the 1930s on the Al Capone mob, and to do it as “an inside job.” He caught the eye of Big Ed Stash, the mob’s top executioner, and convinced him he could be trusted as a sort of mob mascot who would interpret its methods to the outside world. “He introduced me to Frank Nitti, known as the Enforcer, Capone’s number-two man,” Alinsky told Playboy. “Nitti took me under his wing. I called him the Professor and I became his student. Nitti’s boys took me everywhere.”
Alinsky recalled that he “learned a hell of a lot about the uses and abuses of power from the mob,” and that he applied that knowledge “later on, when I was organizing.” The Playboy interviewer asked, “Didn’t you have any compunction about consorting with — if not actually assisting — murderers?” Alinsky replied: “None at all, since there was nothing I could do to stop them from murdering. . . . I was a nonparticipating observer in their professional activities, although I joined their social life of food, drink, and women. Boy, I sure participated in that side of things — it was heaven.”
Lead Investigator On Trayvon Martin Case Wanted Manslaughter Charge, State Attorney's Office Said No, Could This Be Because Zimmerman's Father Is A Retired Judge?
"George Zimmerman is the son of retired Virginia Supreme Court magistrate Judge Robert J. Zimmerman, his mother Gladys Zimmerman is a court clerk. He has three closed arrests: 7/18/05 for resisting an officer w/violence- battery on a law enforcement Officer (div 10...8/9/05), for domestic violence, (div 44... 8/10/05) for domestic violence div 46...This is public information Orange County Florida Court Records."
But, if it is true, it goes a long way towards explaining why the State Attorney's office would have stepped in so quickly and squashed the Lead Investigator's desire to proceed with Manslaughter Charges.
UPDATE - Here is some corroboration that, indeed, Zimmerman's father was a Judge:
In Dec 2008, Zimmerman applied to attend the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. He offered info that he was arrested July 2005 in an incident involving undercover UCF officers.
He was accepted and completed the program.
Zimmerman said his father was a magistrate for Virginia Supreme Court and mother was a deputy court clerk. He stated that he had the utmost respect for law enforcement and aspired to be an officer someday.
From Good Morning America:
The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, multiple sources told ABC News. But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney's office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn't enough evidence to lead to a conviction, the sources told ABC News.Police brought Zimmerman into the station for questioning for a few hours on the night of the shooting, said Zimmerman's attorney, despite his request for medical attention first. Ultimately they had to accept Zimmerman's claim of self defense. He was never charged with a crime.Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night that Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, that stated he was unconvinced Zimmerman's version of events.Zimmerman, 28, claimed he shot Martin, 17, in self defense. One complicating factor in the investigation was that the first detective to interview Zimmerman about the shooting was a narcotics officer rather than a homicide detective. The State Attorney's office said only "no comment" when asked about the affidavit today.
MORE CORROBORATION:
CNN revealed a telling piece of information Friday that has been missed by many of the media outlets covering the slaying of 17-year old Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood watch captain on Feb. 26.
"The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading," his father, a retired magistrate judge, wrote in a letter published in the Orlando Sentinel. "Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas.""George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends," Robert Zimmerman wrote. "He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever." (Emphasis added.)

George Zimmerman vs. Trayvon Martin: Media Bias
I mean, look at that image. The "kid" (Trayvon) is so innocent whereas the "criminal" on the right (Zimmerman) looks like he just got out of prison, got hold of a gun and shot the first black walking thing he set his eyes on. You know, from the above image, that the white dude here just killed the black kid out of pure evil and nothing else.
Well, my opinion wasn't that strong but like I said, I didn't give it much thought and forgot about it as "another racial murder". It happens all the time, all over the world. Nothing to get my panties in a twist over something like this. Little did I know at the time that the black and leftist/liberal community in America had already gotten their panties in a pretty tight twist.
So I started paying a little bit more attention to what happened. I was getting my information from "news" channels like CNN. And this whole time, that image was being displayed.
You know, as they say, an image is worth a thousand words. I didn't doubt, against my instincts, whatever CNN was saying because the image above had already formed my opinion that Zimmerman should not only be arrested but also hanged.
It was at this time that my wife helped me get some common sense into me (I am lucky to have an intelligent woman by my side). She had gotten a hold of the transcript of the 911 tapes and so we sat down and started reading through them.
One of the first things I noticed was that Zimmerman only said, "he looks black" after the person on the phone asked him whether the guy he was looking at was "white, black or hispanic". So, that was in no way "racist" for Zimmerman to have to say "he looks black" in response to the question.
Another thing was that Zimmerman said that they had had a bunch of robberies in their neighborhood and that "they (the robbers) always get away". There were other "details" too that CNN "failed" to mention. Like, Zimmerman being hurt!
On top of that, CNN, at one point (I am referring to CNN international, the coverage might have been different in the US), played the tapes like this: "He's up to no good. He looks black. They always get away!" Yeah, if I was listening to that while looking at the image above, how could I come to any other conclusion but that Zimmerman was racist? In fact, forget the image right now. The words above alone sound like Zimmerman is racist and nothing else.
Anyway, since then I have done a lot more research and it is starting to look like Zimmerman's story holds up better under scrutiny and that Trayvon was not the innocent baby that he has been portrayed as.
There are a lot of rumors out there including ones about how Trayvon was a small time drug-dealer. These rumors are not backed by facts at all but there is one fact that media outlets tend to overlook and that is that Trayvon was suspended from school for 10 days for possession of an empty marijuana bag.
Again, that DOES NOT mean Trayvon deserved to die. We need to see more facts come out before we make up our minds but it also does not mean that Trayvon was the most innocent black kid who was gunned down by the KKK.
Just like Zimmerman is being scrutinized, Trayvon's record needs to be looked at too.
I am sure the people would have taken this case differently and more sanely if the media had chosen a more recent photo of Trayvon like this:
And a more neutral photo of Zimmerman, like this:
See? It sort of changes your perspective.
Anyway, these last two images are just to show how biased the media has been. "Journalism" is a freakin' joke these days.
To be fair to Trayvon, I will add the following, more neutral, image of his:
We should all hold off on making opinions about the character of these people until more facts surface. As far as Zimmerman being free though, he should be free because, so far, nothing has come out to counter that he acted in self-defense. Innocent until proven guilty!
Whatever the facts now, because of the picture that has been painted of Zimmerman, I don't think he can have a regular, peaceful life after this.
By the way, I don't see much of a difference between the barbaric way the Black Panthers, Al Sharpton, Jackson and the lot have reacted and the way Muslims react to things. No wonder they are usually in bed with Muslims.

Obama Asks Erdogan For Advice On How To Raise Malia and Sasha
Is Barack Obama an idiot,or a Muslim? It's really getting to the point where those are the only two choices you've got.
Fuck Barack Obama. Get him the fuck out of the White House.
From the Daily Caller:
President Barack Obama and Turkey’s controversial Islamist prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan have become such bosom buddies that Erdogan is giving Obama advice on raising his American daughters.
Obama, who met with Erdogan March 25 at the nuclear summit in South Korea, has already met with Erdogan numerous times. He touted their relationship as a “friendship” in a January interview that was hyped by Erdogan’s press allies.
The two met in South Korea on Sunday, Eastern Time, to discuss Syria’s civil war and Iran’s nuclear weapons program, but they also talked about the president’s two daughters, Malia and Sasha, Obama said during a press conference, according to a White House statement.
“The bottom line is that we find ourselves in frequent agreement upon a wide range of issues… [and] because he has two daughters that are a little older than mine — they’ve turned out very well, so I’m always interested in his perspective on raising girls,” Obama said.
One of Erdogan’s two daughters, Sumeyye, is entering Turkish politics via her father’s Islamist party, according to the Turkish press.
She wears Islamist-style clothes that obscure her hair and shape.
In Sept. 2010, the then-29 year old met with her father and U2 singer Bono while wearing a scarf that covered her hair and throat, long-sleeves that covered her forearms and a baggy overcoat that hid her figure.
In Feb. 2011, Sumeyye attended a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York while wearing a tight head-scarf that hid her hair and throat. She was accompanied by Erdogan’s wife, Ermine, who wore a head-to-toe black cloak.
Obama’s daughters, 13 year-old Malia and 10 year-old Sasha, dress far more liberally in typical American fashion.
The first lady, Michelle Obama, is a feminist and does not wear head scarves or throat scarves and often leaves her arms bare.
By openly acknowledging Erdogan’s advice on child-rearing, Obama “didn’t realize what he’s saying,” said Barry Rubin, an expert on Turkish politics.
Obama likely made the error, Rubin said, “because he is so unselfconscious and is not used to having to think through his remarks.”
Still, “it is shocking that [Obama suggests] he takes child-raising advice from a radical Islamist,” whose wife dresses in black cloaks or tight headscarves when traveling in the West, said Rubin.
Overall, the White House statement about the meeting “goes beyond polite praise and good manners and practically slobbers over a repressive, pro-Iran leader whose hatred for Israel is literally hysterical,” said Rubin.
Aside from the obvious hypocritical race baiting shit heads ("being wealthy is very good. It allows people to be the real asswipes nature intended them to be") pissing me off, the answer is twofold.
First, my thirteen year old daughter came home last week and asked me what I thought about the case. Seems they had watched about it on some sort of edgeecational TeeVee programming at school and she was horrified that an adult had shot and killed a teen for no apparent reason.
Having not followed the issue very closely to that point my alarm bells went off. I told her that from what I had read that it seems that not all was as it was being presented. Then as I began to read more about it I showed her what I was finding and how and explained to her (yet again) about the lying filthy swine of a media in this country. I don't believe I used those exact words but I may have.
Her position has now moderated a great deal.
Secondly, they will try to make this a Second Amendment and Stand Your Ground issue. Chucky the Schmuck Schumer is already calling for an investigation into state Stand Your Ground laws. He said in 2005 when Stand Your Ground was first passed in Florida there were 12 justifiable homicides a year. Since then it has grown to 33 justifiable homicides a year.
He fails to mention that in that same time violent crimes in Florida dropped from 125,957 in 2005 to 101,969 in 2010 although the population grew from 17,768,191 to 18,801,310. (lots more stats here)
I don't know about you but I'd much rather see an additional 21 justifiably shot dead bad guys than an additional 14,000 violent crimes against innocent people.
And even Jeb Bush stating Stand Your Ground doesn't apply here. Sorry, governor, but if the facts prove out to be as described here, then it certainly does.
And Concealed Carry and Stand Your Ground certainly do help deter crime.
Concealed Carry, Stand Your Ground and Neighborhod Watch are not vigilantism.
What the Black Panthers are doing is.
Orlando Sentinel:
Police: Zimmerman says Trayvon decked him with one blow then began hammering his head
With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.
That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.
Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened, but that night, Feb. 26, and in later meetings he described and re-enacted for police what he says happened.
In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.
Zimmerman told police he shot the teenager in self-defense.
Civil rights leaders and thousands of others have demanded Zimmerman's arrest, calling Trayvon a victim of racial profiling and Zimmerman a vigilante.
Trayvon was an unarmed black teenager who had committed no crime, they say, who was gunned down while walking back from a 7-Eleven with nothing more sinister than a package of Skittles and can of Arizona iced tea.
Supporters have held rallies in Sanford, Miami, New York and Tallahassee, calling the case a tragic miscarriage of injustice.
Activist Al Sharpton headlined a rally in Sanford Thursday that drew an estimated 8,000 people. The Rev. Jesse Jackson yesterday spoke at an Eatonville church, where he called Trayvon a martyr.
Another rally is scheduled for 4 p.m. today in Sanford.
Zimmerman has gone into hiding. A fringe group, the New Black Panthers, have offered a $10,000 reward for his capture.
