Wow, I just can't believe it...

The new Palestinian unity government 'will not recognise Israel'

Gaza: A new Palestinian unity government to be formed after a deal in Makkah between rival Fatah and Hamas factions will not recognise Israel, a political adviser to Hamas Prime Minister Esmail Haniya said yesterday.

Ahmad Yousuf said the unity government, which he expected Haniya to unveil within 10 days, would "respect" previous Palestinian peace accords with Israel but would not be committed to them, nor to recognising the Jewish state.

Recognition of Israel is one of three conditions set by the "quartet" of international Middle East negotiators for lifting sanctions on the Hamas-led government. The quartet also demands Hamas renounce violence and accept existing peace deals.

Oh Ms. Rice, calling Ms. Rice....tell us, dear, please, are you Bakerized, or ready to dhimmize for oil? Or do you still recognize an ally, a real ally, that won't turn it's back on you when the regime changes, as it always does?

"The issue of recognition was not addressed at all [in Makkah]," Yousuf said.

"In the platform of the new government there will be no sign of recognition [of Israel], regardless of the pressures the United States and the quartet would exert."

All Condi is saying to Hamas is "lie to us like Arafat and we'll help fund your terrorist operations." We're talking about this absurdity at my blog.

Of course Hamas won't even use taqiyya for dollars. At least not yet. But our gov't won't give up. We're determined to support those that hate us and want us dead. We know the MSM is AWOL but why so little outrage from the conservative pundits?

Part of my personal Bush Derangment Syndrome (BDS) is that I blame Condi's bouts of gutlessness on Bush. My BDS may be the most thorough on the planet, because when I don't hate him as a social liberal and environmentalist, I hate him for his immigration policy and his new spinelessness on foreign policy. I assume I'll also despise him for caving into the Democrat's minimum wage increase, and thus pointlessly hurting the people in the most precarious positions in our society.

Anyway, I still have faith that Condi wants a foreign policy that we would think is good. Maybe it is an irrational faith.
