The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country.
Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting.

I had begun to believe that there really may have been something "wrong" with the birth certificatem that it would declare, perhaps, his religion as "Islam".
But, it does not say that.
So, the whole thing was just a 3 year long bit of political gamesmanship on Obama's part, and very well-played at that.

so..why does it say Certificate of Live Birth at the top? Assuming for a second this is a legitimate birth certificate, why did he have to be such a jerk about it all these years? It is a totally valid concern that all candidates for president of the USA be a legitimate candidate.

First, the Constitutional requirement is a ‘natural born citizen’ which requires two, that would be one, two, citizens of the United States to be the parents of the child. Obama Sr. was NEVER a citizen.

Um, no. Obama did not release his long form. He specifically requested two copies of his COLB and that's what he gave the msm to distract us with today.

At least now this whole birth certificate mess should be over with, except for a few crazed conspiracy nut jobs, who will inevitably be convinced its fake, who may inadvertently help Obama get reelected.
Let me point out something to all you people who wasted their time or are still wasting their time with this birth certificate fiasco.
Even if Obama was born in Soviet Russia and is the illegitimate son of Chairman Mao and Moms Mabley, the only provision for removing a sitting President from office is impeachment and a majority of the Senate would have to vote for his conviction "and" removal from office. If any of you Infidels believe this Senate would remove Obama for any reason, you're batty!
I wrote and I wrote and I wrote when this issue first came up : it was a red herring launched by none other than Obama. An issue to detract from the real issue: Indonesian citizenship. When I first wrote I said he will eventually provide it, then God help anyone who dares bring up Indonesia. Then he will be the long suffering martyr.
IF this document is indeed a layered pdf file or whatever, then Obama is NOT the president, and cannot be impeached, since impeachment is only for a duly elected official. IF a fake document was submitted then the election would be illegal.
So, if that happened, then the executive branch would be nullified and I suppose all actions taken by the executive branch--like Obamacare etc would go away.
So, yeah, this is a big freaking deal to this country and I don't consider it a waste of time to at least take the time to carefully examine EVERYTHING this liar posits as truth.
Given this man's history of outright lies to the American people, I find it disturbing and puzzling that so many are blindly accepting that this document is the truth.
On the document presented this morning it lists the physician as "David A Sinclair" (as near as I can tell) so why then does this person claim that a Dr. Rodney T West delivered him?

I just saw that video you linked too. I have a question for you. What exactly are you tuber user "Kdenninger's" qualifications to judge that document? I'm no expert, but I've watched a few programs on criminal investigations, and non of them mentioned any of the techniques he has used. Also, there are some arguments put forth pay moon landing conspiracy theorists that we never went to the Moon, and that it was faked by Nasa, that sound convincing until you look at the actual science behind their claims.

The photo on the website is the same as the photo on the youtube, so I assume it is the same guy. But, no matter who this guy is--anyone can open that document and see what he sees--I honestly do not know why or how the file does what it does, that is why I am still up this late searching for answers and trying to inform myself.
The bottom line is--that is not a flattened, scanned image as a document from 1961 certainly should be. It is a multi-layered file. Why?

Watch out he's setting a trap. He as much admitted to it in his remarks stating that, in the week of and after Boehner sold us down the river on the budget deal what was leading the news cycle was this birth certificate issue.
He's been using it to keep people distracted from talking about the real problems. If it's badly forged (and it may be) then there is a reason for it.

By the way, if you don't know what the file does what it does, you can't say its proof of a forgery. In addition, if the Obama white house was trying to cover something up, there are ways that you can turn a multi layered graphics, or text file, into a single layer, and do so quite easily.
