"Only when poverty is thought of as a mainstream event, rather than a fringe experience that just affects blacks and Hispanics, can we really begin to build broader support for programs that lift people in need.”

From the article quoted yesterday that 80% of Americans face poverty or NEAR poverty at some point in their life.
So, what are “programs that lift people in need"?
A check doesn’t do it. It just staves off fear momentarily and created addiction.
The AVAILABILITY of not MERELY jobs at Dunkin’ which will come and go, but careers which stand the test of time even if remedial education and certifications are compulsory is what is NEEDED for this.
What ARE such situations?
Time to stop bitching and look for ideas, people.
Here is ONE:
The major advantages in operating in a free economic zone are:
  • 100 per cent foreign ownership of the enterprise (IF FOREIGN)
  • 100 per cent import and export tax exemptions
  • 100 per cent repatriation of capital and profits
  • No corporate taxes for 15 years, renewable for an additional 15 years
  • No personal income taxes
  • Less documentation, mostly in English
  • Assistance with labour recruitment, and additional support services such as sponsorship and housing.
Sometimes these are called special economic zones as well.
Nations with such zones:
CHINA…COMMUNIST CHINA (obviously they BELIEVE IN OBJECTIVE REALITY) specifically ONE OF THEM IS IN A PLACE CALLED SHENZEN. You know, where Apple has nearly ALL its manufacturing ‘campuses’ and production can switch from 2 inch screens to motherboards in HOURS? Where Samsung makes ALL the screens they sell to EVERYONE?

INDIA
IRELAND
MAYLAYSIA
UAE
BRAZIL
See a pattern?
Find other nations and the zones they have established HERE and HERE.
The USA HAS NO SUCH ZONE.
NONE.
ZERO.
The presence of such a zone does not guarantee success, but where success has been allowed to define itself, EVERYONE gains (and China is both an example and a warning as to the success and the dangers for workers)
But what are we doing?
We are watching and scratching our asses as leaders WE ELECTED ponder with glee, drooling with the anticipation of moving city workers to Obamacare Exchanges, which don’t even exist, and VOIDING the promise to their workers who were PREVENTED from contributing and being eligible for MEDICARE.
NO ONE IS TAKING POSITIVE ACTION IN GOVT.
A GROWING ECONOMY SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS.
Homelessness.
Tax Revenue.
Disposable income spending.
Mortgage default.

No kidding!

And immediately -- if not sooner, too.

America is deeply into an economic death spiral.

The other day, I saw a chart indicating that the disposable personal income is now at -5%. NEGAVTIVE FIVE!

Is it any wonder that levels of poverty are rising and that our economy is stalled?

BTW, last night I was sharing all of this information about our economy with one of my best friends. No dummy, she.

Nevertheless, all she did was complain about how Obama is spending money on vacations, etc., etc. She thought that the solution was a change of administration in 2016.

SHE DOESN'T GET IT!

Changing the person sitting in the Oval Office won't stop the death spiral of our economy.

The problem isn't Obama per se. The problem is so much worse than that!

Exactly! Their will be no bailouts? No they just move the pension obligations to the PBGC and the Health Care obligations to the exchanges piling it all on the backs of the American taxpayer. Mission accomplished and that much closer to the Cloward-Piven moment.

It's all part of the plan. And way too many Americans have yet to catch on.
