CONTROVERSIAL plans for an £18 million mosque and community centre which have split a Midland community have been given the go-ahead.And the defeat of the will of the people, too.
Dudley Council turned down plans by the Dudley Muslim Association to build the mosque in Hall Street, Dudley, last year after a petition opposing the scheme raised 22,000 signatures.
But the association took their fight to a public inquiry and now a Government planning inspector has ruled in its favour, granting its appeal against the council’s refusal of outline planning permission.
Kurshid Ahmed, chairman of the Dudley Muslim Association, said today it was a “victory for common sense and democracy and a defeat for prejudice and bigotry.”
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Storm Track Infiltration: Democracy at Work in the UK
I guess 22,000 people in a community don’t amount to the voice of the people. At least not in Dudley, UK.
