Imagine if Ted Cruz had been President the last four years. NOTHING would have happened.
Ted Cruz is a good man, in his intentions. But he does not have the iron will of Trump.
Now, we are left to watch this kind of charade from here to eternity.
Every once in awhile, Republicans will somehow manage to drag Elites before Congress, and Republicans will beat up on the Elites for a few hours, badgering them with questions that don't actually hurt them, and then NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.
Trey Gowdy? Ted Cruz? Devin Nunes? Have they ever succeeded in doing anything?

I don't include Nunes in that group. He had his nuts cut off by Paul Shithead Ryan. He went above and beyond.
