In the UK, a woman who was hospitalized after being brutally assaulted by a man faced legal consequences when she vented to a friend, calling her attacker a "faggot."
Police were notified, she was investigated for a non-crime hate incident (later escalated), charged with malicious communications, and ultimately convicted of committing a homophobic hate crime.
The victim of physical violence ended up with a criminal record for using an offensive slur about her own assailant in a private conversation.
Britain has absolutely lost the plot.

Quanterry Alvin Whitley
Quanterry Alvin Whitley learned first-hand how the FAFO concept can go very badly when you try to steal someone else’s hard-earned possessions. In the Richmond Heights neighborhood of Miami last weekend, he and three of his thug friends fooled around, committing a home invasion.
A neighbor’s Ring doorbell camera recorded the sounds of Quanterry and his buddies reaping the whirlwind. Yes, it captured Whitley screaming like a little girl after getting shot and before he assumed ambient temperature.
As for the homeowner, he says that he was terrified during the ordeal. He also said it was the first time he ever shot his gun.
Congrats to him then. He did pretty well, all things considered. It probably wouldn’t have ended well for him if he’d froze… or not had a gun at all.
The homeowner, who didn’t want to share his name or face, said he didn’t know any of the suspects and that he only pulled the trigger when one of them entered his house.
CBS News Miami obtained ring camera video that captured the moment shots were heard while the four suspects were trying to enter a home on Southwest 110th Avenue.
The homeowner said he told the men outside his property to leave, but they didn’t. And when one of the men entered his home, he fired, admitting it was the first time he had ever used his gun.
“Never, never. Never pulled it out, never used it. Ever like ever,” the homeowner said. “I’ve never been in trouble, like I don’t bother anybody. Nobody bothers me. This was just the worst day of my life, the worst night of my life.”
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue came to the scene and rushed the injured suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Quanterry Alvin Whitley, to the hospital, where he later died.
Meanwhile, Whitley’s mother is upset over the homeowner’s defensive actions. Local 10 caught her denying that it was her son who broke into the home.
If you want to know the upbringing (or lack thereof) that led Quanterry down the path of stealing other people’s stuff and ignoring lots of other long-held societal norms, her reaction to the incident is telling.

CBS News Miami spoke with Lashundia Jackson, the mother of Whitley. She said the homeowner should never have fired his weapon.
“I would like to say he did not do a home invasion. That is inaccurate. That is not who he is. That is not who he was. He would not do that. He was not that type of person,” Jackson said of her son.
The evidence — including her son’s body inside the man’s home — suggests otherwise.
She said, “The way he (the homeowner) said his mother came out and said they better get off the porch or she is going to call police. Then why shouldn’t they call the police at that moment if that was what they needed to do to avoid shooting him and killing him? Why shouldn’t they call?”
Jackson continued, “I want to know why? Why? Why. What really happened and what is going on?”
Why? Because Whitley and his three pals decided they were going to commit a home invasion…and they suffered the sudden consequences of an error in victim selection. It’s not like the now-dead home invader had suddenly chosen to dabble in crime.
Police records show Whitley had been arrested before for burglary and aggravated assault. But his mother said, “He was a father. He was a son. He was a brother. He was a cousin. He was everything. Did he have run-ins with law enforcement? He did, but a home invasion was not one of them.”
He was a thug. He FA’d and then he FO’d. He learned the hard way that not everyone is meek and mild and will submit to being victimized. And in this case, Whitley’s intended target also likely saved the taxpayers of Florida hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It has been a long, lucrative ride. Predicting the eco-apocalypse has always been a profitable business, spawning subsidies, salaries, consulting fees, air miles, best-sellers and research grants. Different themes took turns as the scare du jour: overpopulation, oil spills, pollution, desertification, mass extinction, acid rain, the ozone layer, nuclear winter, falling sperm counts. Each faded as the evidence became more equivocal, the public grew bored or, in some cases, the problem was resolved by a change in the law or practice.
But no scare grew as big or lasted as long as global warming. I first wrote a doom-laden article for the Economist about carbon dioxide emissions trapping heat in the air in 1987, nearly 40 years ago. I soon realized the effect was real but the alarm was overdone, that feedback effects were exaggerated in the models. The greenhouse effect was likely to be a moderate inconvenience rather than an existential threat. For this blasphemy I was abused, canceled, blacklisted, called a “denier” and generally deemed evil. In 2010, in the pages of the Wall Street Journal I debated Gates, who poured scorn on my argument that global warming was not likely to be a catastrophe – so it is welcome to see him come round to my view.
The activists who took over the climate debate, often with minimal understanding of climate science, competed for attention by painting ever more catastrophic pictures of future global warming. They changed the name to “climate change” so they could blame it for blizzards as well as heat waves. Then they inflated the language to “climate emergency” and “climate crisis,” even as projections of future warming came down.
“I’m talking about the slaughter, death and starvation of six billion people this century. That’s what the science predicts,” said Roger Hallam, founder of Extinction Rebellion in 2019, though the science says no such thing. “A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years,” tweeted Greta Thunberg in 2018. Five years later she deleted her tweet and shortly after that decided that Palestine was a more promising way of staying in the limelight.
Scientists knew that pronouncements like this were nonsense but they turned a blind eye because the alarm kept the grant money coming. Journalists always love exaggeration.

Minneapolis far-left Mayor Jacob Frey abruptly shifted a public address into Somali, all while promising that city police will refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
At a press conference held on Tuesday, Frey stood alongside St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, Ward 6 Council Member Jamal Osman, Police Chief Brian O’Hara, and other city leaders, reacting to reports that the federal government is preparing a targeted immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota’s Twin Cities.
The planned operation reportedly intends to deploy some 100 federal agents to focus on residents of Somali descent, including both ‘documented’ immigrants and those with final deportation orders.
“Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali community in the country,” said Mayor Jacob Frey.
“They are our neighbors, our friends, and our family – and they are welcome in our city. Nothing Donald Trump does will ever change that.”
Then, as if reading from a different script, Frey pivoted mid-speech and addressed part of his remarks directly in Somali: “We love you, we stand with you, we aren’t backing down.”
