The Opposite of Muslim?

Koonj:

The commenter said: … “I have to say that whilst Muslims are threatening terrorist acts the world over, they cannot expect an easy ride from any “civilised” country.”

We won’t discuss the questions of what “civilised” means, and the racial, religious, cultural, economic, and historic factors involved in such a definition. But what would you think if we turned the question and said White men, women and children White folks should expect suspicion and hatred everywhere? Due to colonialism, Hiroshima, the way the UN Security Council is set up and Timothy McVeigh?

My response follows.

1. Colonialism: When did conquering others become the domain of exclusively white people? How exactly does the author think Islam expanded in Europe (Suleiman I) and the Asian subcontinent (the Mughals)?

2. Hiroshima: That was in response to a war started by Japan. It wasn't an unprovoked, out-of-the-blue action.

Before the obliteration of Hiroshima, the Japanese had been thrashed mercilessly in the Pacific by the Americans. Did they admit defeat? No. Their cities had been bombed by hundreds of B-29s. Did they admit defeat? No. In March of 1945, Tokyo was firebombed, killing more than 100,000 civilians. Did they admit defeat? No.

Even after Hiroshima, the Japanese didn't surrender.

What does being white have to do with Hiroshima? I don't know.

3. The way the UN Security Council is set up: I'm assuming that what bugs the author is the members who hold the veto. Still, that doesn't make sense because China (1.3 billion) outnumbers the "white" nations of the US, UK, France and Russia (total: 569 million).

Why or how that would attract hatred towards whites, I don't know.

4. Timothy McVeigh: This example would have somewhat made sense if white people had lionized McVeigh or said that a white person didn't commit the crime. In reality, justice was brought to McVeigh by a "white" society.

5. Religion vs. Race: A Muslim isn't a race and being white isn't a religion. And you can quote me on that.

Though, it is convenient to turn a religious / ideological issue into one of race. You see, the apologist shies away from defending the weak and hollow core of their faith and gets to call the opposition a bunch of bigots.

Even when nudged, many Muslims in the West, at best, refuse to apologize ("Hey, I didn't cause the terror! Besides, we all know it was the Jews.") or worse, they want to establish the nirvana that is sharia. These Muslims completely ignore the fact that their attitudes have provided and continue to provide a fertile ground for extremists who want to harm Civilization. (Oh yes, no scary quotes there!)

We ought to be calling it Islamic Imperialism.

its time to realise where we are standing now and to start discouraging this sect of population to leave the country and settle where they came from.
