Move over Letterman, here’s the Top Ten Reasons Why Islam Will Win.
What do you think? By the way, in reverse, it’s a good list to use to create tactics against the 10 reasons. The analysis of the 10 reasons is from RedState.
- 1) The first is the extent of political division in the non-Muslim world about what is afoot.
This is almost a no-brainer. We are spending our time shooting at each other rather than working together to preserve our civilization
- 2) The second reason why, as things stand, Islam will not be defeated is that the strengths of the world community of Muslims are being underestimated, and the nature of Islam misunderstood.
In the article the author makes a point that I have subscribed to: Islam is not a religion in western terms; although he uses a different description the net result is the same, it is a socio-political order disguised as what we call a religion.
- 3) Indeed, the third reason why Islam will not be defeated, as things stand, is the low level of Western leadership, in particular in the United States.
The author clearly has little regard for the leadership, or lack thereof, being provided by the United States; that for decades we have vacillated about the problem --- probably because we have refused to see it as a problem.
- 4) Next is the contribution to the disarray of Western policy-making being made by the egotistical competitiveness, and in some cases hysterics, of “experts” and commentators on Islam.
- 5) The fifth disablement is to be found in the confusion of “progressives” about the Islamic advance.
As the author points, out the left is abjectly silent in the face of truly egregious, "non-progressive", behavior of Islam with respect to dissent, women, Jews, gays, etc.
- 6) The sixth reason for Islam’s growing strength is the vicarious satisfaction felt by many non-Muslims at America’s reverses.
The standard "cut off your nose to spite your face" approach of the left is certainly lending some credence to this view. Anti-Americanism runs rampant in the left, and the American left is no exception, and they seem to be completely oblivious the fate that most certainly will befall them if Islam "wins."
- 7) The seventh reason lies in the moral poverty of the West’s, and especially America’s, own value system.
He makes an interesting point in that we are competing with a system whose primary virtue is absolute obedience to Allah; there is no debate to be had; Islam simply does not recognize the existence of our argument so what it there to talk about?
- 8) The next indication that Islam’s advance will continue lies in the skillful use being made of the media and of the world wide web in the service both of the “electronic jihad” and the bamboozling of Western opinion by Muslim spokesmen.
No comment is required
- 9) The ninth factor guaranteeing Islam’s onward march is the West’s dependency on the material resources of Arab and Muslim countries.
Because we will not step up to the challenge of energy independence we remain addicted to a product that provides Islam with an enormous source of revenue with which to pursue our downfall. What can one say?
- 10) Finally, the West is convinced that its notions of technology-driven modernity and market-driven progress are innately superior to the ideals of “backward” Islam.
Again, I think this is tied into some of the other arguments. Our approach to life is simply not recognized by Islam and thus there is no ground for debate
RedState ends his commentary with this accurate assessment of what we face.
If the author is correct, I think the bottom line of all of this we cannot debate with Islam. It isn't that our argument is weak or faulty; our argument simply does not exist, there is nothing to talk about. It may be analogous to a scene from the movie "Independence Day", not a particularly good film but one line may be fitting here. In one scene they have captured an alien and one of the "open minded" types asks the alien what it wants humans to do --- "die" is the one word answer.
It’s amazing what you learn on Saturdays sitting a dark theater.

October 7th, 1955: Israeli editor Azriel Carlebach writes a piece for his newspaper, Ma'ariv, titled "You Cannot Converse with Allah".
Excerpts on Jihad Watch. I found it searching for the text in English on the web, but I couldn't find it in full. It's in full on the web in Hebrew. That'll be, G-d willing, my next translation from the Israeli media for my blog.
Why is it that five years, fifty years, make the world more stupid instead of wiser?
Hey, The Infidel Bloggers Alliance is Kafir Consciousness.
Give us some credit.
:)
Reason number eleven, Bush's statement during tonight's speech (I actually had to leave the room):
"the terrorists represent a perverted view of Islam."
'nuf said. If any of you have ever read the Quran, you know exactly what I mean.
The biggest mystery is this: Is Bush just flat out stupid, or is he hiding something from the American people?
Well, at least we can't accuse him of hiding the fact that he's stupid.
The second most annoying thing about Bush is that he distracts reasonably intelligent people from the real problem. I just posted my annual 9/11 IslamoFascism Is The Problem post on a totally unrelated site -- and got back 4 posts on why Bush is the problem. I contend that while Bush is A problem, he is not THE problem, because if Bush vanished tomorrow we would still have IslamoFascism to contend with but if IslamoFascism disappeared tomorrow I doubt Bush would find anything else to screw up as badly before the next election.
I tell you, it's downright SICKENING to hear Condi and Bush tell the American people about how peacful Islam is...and it frustrates me to no end because I know that both Bush or Condi have NEVER picked up a quran to READ IT and identify WHY some Americans are labeling him a total bufoon because he knows NOTHING about Islam and how EVIL it really IS. If he's talking from one end of his ass and decieving the American people, he's doing everyone a huge dis-service.
I voted for Bush and feel I have been lied to. Technically, I voted in Neville Chamberlain. What a bad outlook the world will be in within the next 20 yrs.
That's what I mean about Bush being distracting. People waste time tearing their hair out over his stupidity and ignorance that could be better used nagging everyone they know to visit blogsites like this one (and jihadwatch and Atlas and LGF, etc.) and read Phares, Phillips, Spencer, Gabriel, Emerson, Bawer, Warraq, Hirsi Ali, Pipes, and everyone else who can educate them about this catastrophe we are facing. The more people understand the real menace of Islam, the more pressure there will be on Bush to shape up, at least as much as that's possible. He wouldn't get away with a fraction of this bs if he weren't getting so much cultural support.
Yes, we here are the "kaffir consciousness" and the understanding that what one chooses to believe or not believe in terms of religion should be personal is an essential element. The moment you get into the mindset that your god is the only one and that gives you the right to force your views on others, the game is over because you've joined the other team. It's been my experience that that is a hard lesson to learn not just for Muslims. But it's War of the Worlds, folks, and the Martians want the planet. So until this war is won we've got to be humans first.
