Jonz, one of the two English guys with whom I started Infidel Bloggers Aliance wrote in and asked about what we do to celebrate the 4th of July here in America.
Here is what he wrote:
So what did you guys do? Street parties or anything? We don't have squat to celebrate our country in uk
:(
This is what I did - and people do this all over Amreica:
I went down to the downtown area, and there is a stadium there, and thousands of people packed the stadium, and lined the streets, and there were bands, and food booths, and a patriotic show, and a singing of the National Anthenm, and a Pledging of Allegiance to the flag, and then a huge fucking fireworks show that set off car alarms and scared dogs and small children for miles around.
It was beautiful!
But, one of the things I kept thinking last night is we really are a war-like nation, and this is just more proof those Jihadi-fucks are in for some big trouble.
Fireworks may be pretty, but the reason we do fireworks shows on the 4th of July is because of a line in our National Anthem:
And the rockets red glare
And the bombs bursting in mid-air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
America is watching the world and we are seeing what is happening (UK - Glasgow, in just the past few days), and often, it seems, we are even more angry about what is being done to our brothers in Europe than are our Eurepean brothers themselves.
We are willing to do whatever it is going to take to win. We will bear the fear of seeking the "Proof through the night."
That is called Faith, my friends. And we Westerners have to find that faith within ourselves, and within whatever God, or country, it is we believe in.
Because what we have is worth believing in and preserving.
And, after all, who the fuck wants to live like this?

A very British lady has written to me with an amusing tongue-in-cheek reply
Yes we do - we have beautiful gorgeous and wonderful football matches
where we all get patriotic. We have Fireworks night when we get to burn
catholics and we celebrate the Queen every year at Trooping of the
Colour a quintisessential British celebration that blows spots off their
Anti England Day. Not to mention Last Night at the Proms which is a
blast! Come on now!

Mr. AOW and I rested for most of the day. Even so, we roused ourselves just before dark and went to the local show of fireworks. There we met by happenstance a woman who loves America just as much as we do. She found a little American flag in the ditch (She was pissed about that flag being tossed away) and waved it proudly throughout the display.
Afterwards, we went to our local VFW and celebrated our Independence Day with fellow patriots, a few of the WWII vets and several of them vets from the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Good food, good company--all toasting the USA and condemning the Islamofascists.
Happy Anti England Day
Anonymous,
LOL!
I don't think Americans look at it that way, but in a way you are correct.
And, of course, England is no longer run by a King anymore, but the tax situation still sucks, doesn't it?
All that tea throwing and the Chinese are about to take you over! ;)
Still i was impressed that you are putting your foot down about American flags being made in China and Korea. Good for you!
Jonz - burning catholics is relevant - the jihadis arent the first religious fanatics to try to blow up the home of freedom.
p.s your infidel hunk sucks. smeaton please - for real solidarity with us Brits
