U.S. To Attack Iran In Spring?

God, I hope the Guardian is right about this:

US preparations for an air strike against Iran are at an advanced stage, in spite of repeated public denials by the Bush administration, according to informed sources in Washington.

The present military build-up in the Gulf would allow the US to mount an attack by the spring. But the sources said that if there was an attack, it was more likely next year, just before Mr Bush leaves office.

Neo-conservatives, particularly at the Washington-based American Enterprise Institute, are urging Mr Bush to open a new front against Iran. So too is the vice-president, Dick Cheney. The state department and the Pentagon are opposed, as are Democratic congressmen and the overwhelming majority of Republicans. The sources said Mr Bush had not yet made a decision. The Bush administration insists the military build-up is not offensive but aimed at containing Iran and forcing it to make diplomatic concessions. The aim is to persuade Tehran to curb its suspect nuclear weapons programme and abandon ambitions for regional expansion.

Robert Gates, the new US defence secretary, said yesterday: "I don't know how many times the president, secretary [of state Condoleezza] Rice and I have had to repeat that we have no intention of attacking Iran."

But Vincent Cannistraro, a Washington-based intelligence analyst, shared the sources' assessment that Pentagon planning was well under way. "Planning is going on, in spite of public disavowals by Gates. Targets have been selected. For a bombing campaign against nuclear sites, it is quite advanced. The military assets to carry this out are being put in place."

He added: "We are planning for war. It is incredibly dangerous."

Mr Cannistraro, who worked for the CIA and the National Security Council, stressed that no decision had been made.

Last month Mr Bush ordered a second battle group led by the aircraft carrier USS John Stennis to the Gulf in support of the USS Eisenhower. The USS Stennis is due to arrive within the next 10 days. Extra US Patriot missiles have been sent to the region, as well as more minesweepers, in anticipation of Iranian retaliatory action.

In another sign that preparations are under way, Mr Bush has ordered oil reserves to be stockpiled.

The danger is that the build-up could spark an accidental war. Iranian officials said on Thursday that they had tested missiles capable of hitting warships in the Gulf.

Colonel Sam Gardiner, a former air force officer who has carried out war games with Iran as the target, supported the view that planning for an air strike was under way: "Gates said there is no planning for war. We know this is not true. He possibly meant there is no plan for an immediate strike. It was sloppy wording.

"All the moves being made over the last few weeks are consistent with what you would do if you were going to do an air strike. We have to throw away the notion the US could not do it because it is too tied up in Iraq. It is an air operation."

One of the main driving forces behind war, apart from the vice-president's office, is the AEI, headquarters of the neo-conservatives. A member of the AEI coined the slogan "axis of evil" that originally lumped Iran in with Iraq and North Korea. Its influence on the White House appeared to be in decline last year amid endless bad news from Iraq, for which it had been a cheerleader. But in the face of opposition from Congress, the Pentagon and state department, Mr Bush opted last month for an AEI plan to send more troops to Iraq. Will he support calls from within the AEI for a strike on Iran?

Josh Muravchik, a Middle East specialist at the AEI, is among its most vocal supporters of such a strike.

"I do not think anyone in the US is talking about invasion. We have been chastened by the experience of Iraq, even a hawk like myself." But an air strike was another matter. The danger of Iran having a nuclear weapon "is not just that it might use it out of the blue but as a shield to do all sorts of mischief. I do not believe there will be any way to stop this happening other than physical force."

Mr Bush is part of the American generation that refuses to forgive Iran for the 1979-81 hostage crisis. He leaves office in January 2009 and has said repeatedly that he does not want a legacy in which Iran has achieved superpower status in the region and come close to acquiring a nuclear weapon capability. The logic of this is that if diplomatic efforts fail to persuade Iran to stop uranium enrichment then the only alternative left is to turn to the military.

Mr Muravchik is intent on holding Mr Bush to his word: "The Bush administration have said they would not allow Iran nuclear weapons. That is either bullshit or they mean it as a clear code: we will do it if we have to. I would rather believe it is not hot air."

Other neo-cons elsewhere in Washington are opposed to an air strike but advocate a different form of military action, supporting Iranian armed groups, in particular the Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), even though the state department has branded it a terrorist organisation.

Raymond Tanter, founder of the Iran Policy Committee, which includes former officials from the White House, state department and intelligence services, is a leading advocate of support for the MEK. If it comes to an air strike, he favours bunker-busting bombs. "I believe the only way to get at the deeply buried sites at Natanz and Arak is probably to use bunker-buster bombs, some of which are nuclear tipped. I do not believe the US would do that but it has sold them to Israel."
Another neo-conservative, Meyrav Wurmser, director of the centre for Middle East policy at the Hudson Institute, also favours supporting Iranian opposition groups. She is disappointed with the response of the Bush administration so far to Iran and said that if the aim of US policy after 9/11 was to make the Middle East safer for the US, it was not working because the administration had stopped at Iraq. "There is not enough political will for a strike. There seems to be various notions of what the policy should be."

In spite of the president's veto on negotiation with Tehran, the state department has been involved since 2003 in back-channel approaches and meetings involving Iranian officials and members of the Bush administration or individuals close to it. But when last year the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sent a letter as an overture, the state department dismissed it within hours of its arrival.

Support for negotiations comes from centrist and liberal thinktanks. Afshin Molavi, a fellow of the New America Foundation, said: "To argue diplomacy has not worked is false because it has not been tried. Post-90s and through to today, when Iran has been ready to dance, the US refused, and when the US has been ready to dance, Iran has refused. We are at a stage where Iran is ready to walk across the dance floor and the US is looking away."
He is worried about "a miscalculation that leads to an accidental war".

The catalyst could be Iraq. The Pentagon said yesterday that it had evidence - serial numbers of projectiles as well as explosives - of Iraqi militants' weapons that had come from Iran. In a further sign of the increased tension, Iran's main nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, cancelled a visit to Munich for what would have been the first formal meeting with his western counterparts since last year.

If it does come to war, Mr Muravchik said Iran would retaliate, but that on balance it would be worth it to stop a country that he said had "Death to America" as its official slogan.
"We have to gird our loins and prepare to absorb the counter-shock," he said.
War of words

"If Iran escalates its military action in Iraq to the detriment of our troops and/or innocent Iraqi people, we will respond firmly"
George Bush, in an interview with National Public Radio

"The Iranians clearly believe that we are tied down in Iraq, that they have the initiative, that they are in position to press us in many ways. They are doing nothing to be constructive in Iraq at this point"
Robert Gates

"I think it's been pretty well-known that Iran is fishing in troubled waters"
Dick Cheney

"It is absolutely parallel. They're using the same dance steps - demonise the bad guys, the pretext of diplomacy, keep out of negotiations, use proxies. It is Iraq redux"
Philip Giraldi, a former CIA counter- terrorism specialist, in Vanity Fair, on echoes of the run-up to the war in Iraq

"US policymakers and analysts know that the Iranian nation would not let an invasion go without a response. Enemies of the Islamic system fabricated various rumours about death and health to demoralise the Iranian nation, but they did not know that they are not dealing with only one person in Iran. They are facing a nation"Iranian supreme leader
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

The BBC displays, quite innocently, it's galactic stupidity ...or...there IS an objective reality on earth, and they don't believe it

By now at least some readers must be aware of the Israelis attempt to repair a collapsed ramp, on Temple Mount, or Haram al Sharif, take your pick.

It is or is not, depending upon whether you believe the Romans arranged things in favor of future Zionists, the site of Solomon's Temple, and then after that was destroyed, the temple rebuilt by Herod about the time Octavian was getting the better of the Roman Senate. It is also the site where Vespasian and Titus exemplified the Roman solution to rebellion, and burned it all to the ground while the jews resisted first in the Antonia Fortress and then in the temple itself, until finally when Jerusalem lay in waste, 1 million jews were dead, and the temple a pile of ash. 700 years later Umar, the 2nd Caliph, conquered Jerusalem in the Arab imperial religious invasions, and chose, not by chance to construct the mosque on top of the Jews temple site, making it forever a waqf, and the site of religious strife.
temple_ramp.jpg
Today the ancient structure on top (all Muslim) and the Wall beneath, all that is left of the Temple, represent in 200 feet of length the root of why Islam has failed so far. Numbers of people who follow some belief, considering the sad religious history of this planet, do NOT represent success, IMHO.

So the Israelis (for all of Islam, the Jews, interchangeably, and this is the signifying fact) are trying to construct a new ramp to replace the collapsed one.

Now nearly every Imam I ever saw quoted, refuses to acknowledge that this site, where the 'Wall' is, IS where the Temple was, and is not by chance where the Arabs went out of their way to create a garbage dump before 1967. I would have to say that at best, the issue is not only long settled, but past doubt, or argument. However, this seems to be up there with those, like the wonderful two Mahmouds (Abbas and Ahmadinejad), who think the Holocaust also remains in the realm of questionable history.

Naturally, the ramp, since it is designed by, worked on and funded by jews, is actually an attempt to destroy Al Aqsa, undermine it, or make it a Synagogue or Yeshiva. I mean what else could it be? It could't be a a repair to maintain safe access for all religions and peoples to an ancient, archaeological, religious and historic site, could it?

And then enters the BBC to report.

Immediately causing one to question the very meaning of the word.

To me it is to transmit the facts.

I just did.

But the BBC with astonishing moronic greatness, gives credit to the arab position of racist, conspiratorial, rumor - dimension.

The BBC remains ASTONISHING

Storm Track Disinformation: The War from the Perspective of a First Year Journalism Student

Christina Baucco is a freshman studying journalism at Butler University and wrote in DawagNet, their student news site, and article entitled War on Islam?

Whether we like it or not we may actually be in a war on Islam. Contrary to beliefs that we are not a totalitarian country, meaning we would not attack another country’s religion, we seem to be doing just that. The problem is that in the Middle East religion dominates people's private and public lives. As our government says we are fighting to establish a democracy they see us trying to overthrow their religion. This is what is causing the instability surrounding the war.

Notice her total lack of the Muslims attempting to force THEIR religion around the world. Not the other way around.
Some people believe that we have a right to this war historically. In many occasions it has been recorded that Islam was aggressive towards western culture and Christianity. But in the end doesn’t it ring with semblances of a playground fight. Doesn’t the phrase “I didn’t start this but I’m sure going to finish it” seem to summarize our right to this war? Is that the way we want to be viewed in our stance?

The answer? YES!

Tech Toy Update - Here's a BIG one that slipped in quietly....want to know what we are really concerned about?

In October, the U.S. Homeland Security Department selected Skyguard as an option to protect civil aircraft and commercial airports from the threat of man-portable missiles. Northrop has also been developing a laser for the Airborne Laser program.

I have written about Skyguard and THEL and MTHEL, and THAAD ad nauseum

However somewhere in there we all missed the facts that:
It is deployable.
It is deployed.

Each Skyguard defends a diameter of 10 km (6.25 mi)

Perfect for airport defense.
From Gertz
Laser weapons are emerging as a cost-effective replacement for surface-to-air missiles for air and ground defense, industry sources said.

The sources said advancements in laser weapons could make them an alternative to kinetic interceptors as well as air defense systems. They said a range of militaries and governments have been examining new laser weapons manufactured by companies such as Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.

"Laser weapons are becoming much less expensive compared with other solutions for force protection against indirect fire threats," Northrop Grumman vice president Mike McVey said. "We estimate that accomplishments in 2006 could easily translate into high-energy laser weapons costing one-fourth the total system cost of tactical missiles."

Executives said 2006 marked a significant success for Northrop Grumman in the development and testing of high-energy lasers. They said the company achieved the most intense laser beams, the highest power levels and the longest operating times in tests over the last year.

Northrop Grumman has offered Israel the Skyguard laser for missile and rocket defense.

In July 2006, Skyguard, a ground-based laser air defense system, was introduced to protect sites and communities against rockets, missiles and mortars.

In October, the U.S. Homeland Security Department selected Skyguard as an option to protect civil aircraft and commercial airports from the threat of man-portable missiles. Northrop has also been developing a laser for the Airborne Laser program.

Northrop has also introduced Vesta, described as a compact laser weapon designed to protect fixed ground assets. Vesta is also meant for precision strikes by manned and unmanned aircraft.

VESTA???????

Claim- Iran IEDs capable of destroying U.S. tanks blamed for many U.S. casualties

Neo con inspired over inflation to justify a new war, or cynical reality?

Iran has manufactured improvised explosive devices capable of destroying U.S. main battle tanks.

Officials said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has overseen the development and distribution of advanced shape-charge IEDs capable of penetrating the most protected of U.S.-origin armor vehicles. The latest Iranian weapons, termed Explosive Formed Projectiles, have been responsible for many U.S. casualties in Iraq.

"I think the principal area where we have seen evidence of Iranian involvement is in providing these EFPs, these very powerful IEDs, to the — either or both the technology and the weapons themselves that have been killing American soldiers," Defense Secretary Robert Gates said.

This is a complete SCIENCE. The idea is that the force of the explosion creates a spall (fragment or chip) composed of the armor of the vehicle itself which enters the vehicle at unbelievable velocity wreaking havoc, shredding occupants and then possibly blowing it up as a result of the rather unpleasant things stored inside tanks. This occurs because the explosion s focused by shaping the charge and backing it. The better the armor, the bigger the charge. BTW, focused explosive lenses is EXACTLY how, with the timing of klystron detonators one would detonate a plutonium bomb.
efp.jpg

Officials said Iran has distributed EFPs to both Shi'ite and Sunni insurgents in Iraq. The weapons are powerful enough to destroy the U.S.-origin M1A2 MBT.

"I've been told when I was out there that they can take out an Abrams tank," Gates told a Pentagon briefing on Feb. 2.

Gates said the U.S. military has sought to stop the flow of EFPs from Iran to Iraq. The military has provided the Bush administration with serial numbers and technology to build a case against Iran.

Officials said IED attacks by Al Qaida and other insurgents far outnumber EFP operations against U.S. forces. Gates said IEDs account for about 70 percent of U.S. casualties.

"My impression is that the percentage of IED attacks that involve these Explosively Foreign Projectiles is a relatively small percentage of the overall number of attacks, but they are far more lethal," Gates said.

Overheard In A Airport Bookstore

I was buying a magazine and a bottle of water in an airport book store last night, and there were three counter girls standing there discussing dieting. Here's the part of the conversation I tuned in to:

1st Girl: ... I've been eating a lot of Jello.

2nd Girl: You shouldn't eat jello. They put pig in that.

3rd Girl: Yeah.

1st Girl: I know, but I like jello.

2nd Girl: And, you shouldn't eat Jelly Beans either ...

And then, I turned and walked away.

Running Scared in Red House

The Muslims of AmericaAs I reported on Wednesday, the Christian Action Network is planning a demonstration on February 20th in Charlotte Court House against the “Sheikh Gilani Lane” road sign at the Muslims of America (a.k.a. Jamaat ul-Fuqra) compound in Red House, Virginia.

But CAN is having ploblems attracting local Charlotte County people to the demonstration. Folks will be coming in from the adjacent counties and Lynchburg, but not from right there in Charlotte County. As Martin Mawyer, the president of Christian Action Network, told me, “The people over there are scared of those guys. They have to live next to them all the time, and they know that there are some bad people down there at the Red House compound. So they just don’t want to get involved.”

I have an acquaintance — I’ll call him Ray — who lives in southern Appomattox County, which is just to the north of Charlotte County. He in turn has a friend in Red House who lives on Rolling Hill Road, a short distance away from the JF compound.

I know that Ray and his friend are both hardy good ol’ boys, the kind of guys who are comfortable with firearms, and not easily intimidated. So I called Ray this afternoon to see if he could help me locate some Charlotte County residents who might be willing to show up at the courthouse on the 20th.

When I asked him about his friend who lives on Rolling Hill Road, a note of apprehension crept into Ray’s voice.

“Yeah, he used to be all gung-ho and say things like ‘we’re not going to put up with this crap’ — he was all ready to take ’em on. But not long ago he ran into one of those Muslims down at the convenience store [at the corner of Rolling Hill Road and SR 727] and got into an argument. And would you believe, that sucker went to his van and pulled an assault rifle on him. Ever since then he’s been keeping a low profile — he doesn’t want anything else to happen to him, so he’s laying low.”

This is a textbook example of mau-mauing in action. But it’s the most hardcore example of mau-mauing I’ve ever personally heard of.

The Great Jihad operates by stealth. The knife at the throat is not its primary weapon of aggression; it prefers to erode our defenses incrementally, using social pressure, legal action, media manipulation, subversion, and good old-fashioned intimidation.

Yesterday Christine from the 910 Group sent me the following in an email:

So now the [Charlotte County] Board of Supervisors has voted to honor one of the worst known terrorists with a commemorative road sign. Their chances of replacing the 450 lost textile jobs, or attracting tourism or new businesses just fell — they’re losing jobs, having to replace tobacco, and have an aging population. And now, to solve all their problems, they’ve decided to coddle Jamaat ul Fuqra. They’ve attained the distinction of being the one county to officially honor Sheikh Gilani. It’s something to remember when Board elections come around again.

By voting to keep the sign, the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors has insulted the entire Commonwealth of Virginia, not just their own citizens.

We need to create a national focus on their idiocy — as long as they make it a local fight, they’re fighting on JF’s terms.

Now that they’ve voted, it just became a national fight. That is what the 910 Group is all about. These little local fights are NEVER local.

CAIR and similar organizations operate by attacking individuals. Islamofascists are hunters — they cull the weakest, only going after those who are away from the herd. Bullies only attack the weak

The trick is never again to be trapped into thinking that something is local and others can’t help. The Counterjihad is always global. When the Board voted to support that sign, they made this an international issue involving Pakistan, and not just a state issue that shames all Virginians.

Map of Charlotte CountyThe demonstration on the 20th will go ahead as planned, with or without Charlotte County residents.

On the very slight chance that someone who reads this blog is a Charlotte County resident, or knows a Charlotte County resident: see if you can find a retired marine, or a VFW member, or an Iraq war vet, or maybe an off-duty state cop. Someone who’s not easily intimidated by punks with weapons. Somebody who wants to stand up for this country before it turns into France.

Have that person make his presence known. The date is February 20th. The place is Charlotte County Courthouse, at the junction of VA 47 and VA 40, right in the heart of Southside Virginia.

Jihad Is The Lord's Supper Of Islam - It Is The Highest Sacrament

From Spengler (thanks to Religion of Pieces):

Jihad injures reason, for it honors a god who suffers no constraints on his caprice, unlike the Judeo-Christian god, who is limited by love. That is the nub of Pope Benedict XVI's September 12 address in Regensburg, Germany. It promises to be the Vatican's most controversial utterance in living memory.

When a German-language volume appeared in 2003 quoting the same analysis by a long-dead Jewish theologian, I wrote of "oil on the flames of civilizational war". [1] Now the same ban has been preached from St Peter's chair, and it is a defining moment comparable to Winston Churchill's "Iron Curtain" speech at Fulton, Missouri, in 1946.

Earlier this year, Benedict's elliptical remarks to former students at a private seminar in 2005, mentioned in passing by an American Jesuit and reported in this space, created a scandal. [2] I wrote at the time that even the pope must whisper when it comes to Islam. We have entered a different stage of civilizational war. The Islamic world now views the pontiff as an existential threat, and with reason.

Jihad is not merely the whim of a despotic divinity, as the pope implied. It is much more: jihad is the fundamental sacrament of Islam, the Muslim cognate of the Lord's Supper in Christianity, that is, the unique form of sacrifice by which the individual believer communes with the Transcendent.

To denounce jihad on theological grounds is a blow at the foundations of Islam, in effect a papal call for the conversion of the Muslims.

Just before then-cardinal Ratzinger's election as pope last year, I wrote, "Now that everyone is talking about Europe's demographic death, it is time to point out that there exists a way out: convert European Muslims to Christianity. The reported front-runner at the Vatican conclave ... Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, is one of the few Church leaders unafraid to raise the subject." [3]

The Regensburg address oversteps the bounds of dialogue and verges upon the missionary. A great deal has changed since John Paul II kissed the Koran before news cameras in 1999. The boys and girls of the Catholic youth organization Communione e Liberazione that Ratzinger nurtured for a generation will have a great deal to talk to their Muslim school-fellows about. No more can one assume now that Europe will slide meekly into dhimmitude.

In that respect [I wrote during the conclave] John Paul II recalled the sad position of Pius XII, afraid to denounce publicly the murder of Polish priests by Nazi occupiers - let alone the murder of Polish Jews - for fear that the Nazis would react by killing even more. It is hard to second-guess the actions of Pius XII given his terrible predicament, but at some point one must ask when the Gates of Hell can be said to have prevailed over St Peter.

Specifically, Benedict stated that jihad, the propagation of Islam by force, is irrational, because it is against the Reason of God. Citing a 14th-century Byzantine emperor to the effect that Mohammed's "decree that the faith he preached should be spread with the sword" as "evil and inhumane" provoked headlines. But of greater weight is the pope's observation that Allah is a god whose "absolute transcendence" allows no constraint, to the point that Allah is free if he chooses to promote evil. The great German-Jewish theologian Franz Rosenzweig explained the matter more colorfully than did the pope, as I reported three years ago in the cited review:

The god of Mohammed is a creator who well might not have bothered to create. He displays his power like an Oriental potentate who rules by violence, not by acting according to necessity, not by authorizing the enactment of the law, but rather in his freedom to act arbitrarily ... Providence thus is shattered into infinitely many individual acts of creation, with no connection to each other, each of which has the importance of the entire creation. That has been the doctrine of the ruling orthodox philosophy in Islam. Every individual thing is created from scratch at every moment. Islam cannot be salvaged from this frightful providence of Allah ... despite its vehement, haughty insistence upon the idea of the god's unity, Islam slips back into a kind of monistic paganism, if you will permit the expression. God competes with God at every moment, as if it were the colorfully contending heavenful of gods of polytheism.

It is amusing to see liberal Jewish commentators in the United States, eg, the editorial page of the September 16 New York Times, deplore the pope's remarks, considering that Rosenzweig said it all the more sharply in 1920. Benedict's comments regarding Islam served as a preamble to a longer discourse on the unity of faith and reason. "Is the conviction that acting unreasonably contradicts God's nature merely a Greek idea, or is it always and intrinsically true?" Benedict asked, and answered his own question: "I believe that here we can see the profound harmony between what is Greek in the best sense of the word and the biblical understanding of faith in God."

It is not, however, the reasoned side of Benedict's remarks to which Muslims responded, but rather the existential. Rather than rail at the pope's characterization of Islam, Muslims might have responded as follows: "Excuse me, Your Holiness, but did we hear you say that you represent a religion of reason, whereas Allah is a god of unreason? Do you not personally eat the body and blood of your god - at least things that you insist really are his flesh and blood - every day at Mass? And you accuse us of unreason!" That is a fair rebuttal, but it opens up Islam's can of worms. True, we are not pottering about in this pilgrim existence to be rational.

Today's Germans are irrational, and know that their time has past, and therefore desist from bearing children. What mankind - Christian, Muslim and Jew, and all - demand of God is irrational. We want eternal life! Christians do not want what the Greeks wanted - Socrates' transmigration of souls, nor the shadow existence of Homer's dead heroes in Hades. That is an unreasonable demand if ever there was one.

Before the Bible was written, the Babylonian hero Gilgamesh learned that his quest for immortality was futile. The demigods of Greece, mortals favored by Olympians, suffered a tedious sort of immortal life as stars, trees or rivers. The gods of the heathens are not in any case eternal, only immortal. They were born and they will die, like the Norse gods at the Ragnorak, and their vulnerability projects the people's presentiment of its own death. To whom, precisely, have the gods offered eternal life prior to the appearance of revealed religion?

Eternal life and a deathless mortality are quite different things. But what is it that God demands of us in response to our demand for eternal life? We know the answer ourselves. To partake of life in another world we first must detach ourselves from this world in order to desire the next. In plain language, we must sacrifice ourselves. There is no concept of immortality without some concept of sacrifice, not in any culture or in any religion. That is a demand shared by the Catholic bishops and the Kalahari Bushmen.

God's covenant with Abraham is unique and singular in world history. A single universal and eternal god makes an eternal pact with a mortal that can be fulfilled only if Abraham's tribe becomes an eternal people. But the price of this pact is self-sacrifice. That is an existential mortal act beyond all ethics, as Soren Kierkegaard tells us in Fear and Trembling. The sacraments of revealed religion are sublimated human sacrifice, for the revealed god in his love for humankind spares the victim, just as God provided a ram in place of the bound Isaac on Mount Moriah.

Among Jews the covenant must be renewed in each male child through a substitute form of human sacrifice, namely circumcision. [4] Christians believe that a single human sacrifice spared the rest of humankind.

Jihad also is a form of human sacrifice. He who serves Allah so faithfully as to die in the violent propagation of Islam goes straight to paradise, there to enjoy virgins or raisins, depending on the translation.

But Allah is not the revealed god of loving kindness, or agape, but - pace Benedict - a god of reason, that is, of cold calculation.

Islam admits no expiatory sacrifice. Everyone must carry his own spear. We are too comfortable, too clean, too squeamish, too modern to descend into the terrible space where birth, death and immortality are decided. We forget that we cannot have eternal life unless we are ready to give up this one - and this the Muslim knows only through what we should call the sacrament of jihad.

Through jihad, the Muslim does almost precisely what the Christian does at the Lord's Supper. It is the sacrifice of Jesus that grants immortal life to all Christians, that is, those who become one with Jesus by eating his flesh and drinking his blood so that the sacrifice also is theirs, at least in Catholic terms. Protestants substitute empathy identification with the crucified Christ for the trans-substantiated blood and flesh of Jesus.

Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to give all men eternal life, on condition that they take part in his sacrifice, either through the physical communion of the Catholic Church or the empathetic Communion of Protestantism.

From a Muslim vantage point, the extreme of divine humility embodied in Jesus' sacrifice is beyond reason.

Allah, by contrast, deals with those who submit to him after the calculation of an earthly despot. He demands that all Muslims sacrifice themselves by becoming warriors and, if necessary, laying their lives down in the perpetual war against the enemies of Islam.

These are parallel acts, in which different peoples do different things, in the service of different deities, but for the same reason: for eternal life.

Why is self-sacrifice always and everywhere the cost of eternal life? It is not because a vengeful and sanguineous God demands his due before issuing us a visa to heaven. Quite the contrary: we must sacrifice our earthly self, our attachment to the pleasures and petty victories of our short mortal life if we really are to gain the eternal life that we desire. The animal led to the altar, indeed Jesus on the cross, is ourselves: we die along with the sacrifice and yet live, by the grace of God.

YHWH did not want Isaac to die, but without taking Abraham to Mount Moriah, Abraham himself could not have been transformed into the man desirous and deserving of immortal life. Jesus died and took upon him the sins of the world, in Christian terms, precisely so that a vicarious sacrifice would redeem those who come to him. What distinguishes Allah from YHWH and (in Christian belief) his son Jesus is love.

God gives Jews and Christians a path that their foot can tread, one that is not too hard for mortals, to secure the unobtainable, namely immortal life, as if by miracle. Out of love God gives the Torah to the Jews, not because God is a stickler for the execution of 613 commandments, but because it is a path upon which the Jew may sacrifice and yet live, and receive his portion of the World to Come.

The most important sacrifice in Judaism is the Sabbath - "our offering of rest", says the congregation in the Sabbath prayers - a day of inactivity that acknowledges that the Earth is the Lord's. It is a sacrifice, as it were, of ego. In this framework, incidentally, it is pointless to distinguish Judaism as a "religion of works" as opposed to Christianity as a "religion of faith".

To Christians, God offers the vicarious participation in his sacrifice of himself through his only son. That is Grace: a free gift by God to men such that they may obtain eternal life. By a miracle, the human soul responds to the offer of Grace with a leap, a leap away from the attachments that hold us to this world, and a foretaste of the World to Come.

There is no Grace in Islam, no miracle, no expiatory sacrifice, no expression of love for mankind such that each Muslim need not be a sacrifice. On the contrary, the concept of jihad, in which the congregation of Islam is also the army, states that every single Muslim must sacrifice himself personally.

Jihad is the precise equivalent of the Lord's Supper in Christianity and the Jewish Sabbath, the defining expression of sacrifice that opens the prospect of eternity to the mortal believer. To ask Islam to become moderate, to reform, to become a peaceful religion of personal conscience is the precise equivalent of asking Catholics to abolish Mass.

Islam, I have argued for years, faces an existential crisis in the modern world, which has ripped its adherents out of their traditional existence and thrust them into deadly conflicts. What was always latent in Islam has now come to the surface: the practice of Islam now expresses itself uniquely in jihad. Benedict XVI has had the courage to call things by their true names. Everything else is hypocrisy and self-delusion.

Pastorius comment:

What Spengler says here, in contrasting the God of the Jews and the Christians with the God of Islam, is true. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is a God who provides the sacrifice for man. He is a God of forgiveness, and redemption.

Allah, on the other hand, is a God who demands blood sacrifice of his adherents. Allah is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Allah is Moloch.

Lebanon's Defense Minister: Palestinians planning attacks against UNIFIL

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Lebanon's Defense Minister Elias Murr said Thursday that there were intelligence reports of possible attacks being planned against the international peacekeepers in Lebanon.

"We have information on threats against UNIFIL," Murr said in an interview with the privately owned Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation.

He was referring to the U.N force monitoring a U.N.-brokered cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas in the buffer zone in southern Lebanon.

Murr said there were reports that "fundamentalist groups" in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ein el-Hilweh in southern Lebanon, were contemplating attacks against the peacekeepers.

CAIR makes a Freudian slip promoting an Islamic sorority

MD: ISLAMIC SORORITY INVITES NEW MEMBERS TO JOIN

Alpha Alpha Omega Sorority Incorporated invites all Muslim and non-Muslim women to join an Islamic sorority focused on the empowerment of women. [...]

Empowerment of women? Funny, taking into consideration that CAIR wants to institute sharia. I'm sure non-Muslim women will be rushing to join this kind of sorority.

CLINTON, MD, January 29, 2007 - The sorority was founded on July 11, 2006, from the vision of several women seeing the need for an organization that will focus on empowering women. The sorority is compromised of Muslim and non-Muslim women, students, and alumnae who are attending or have graduated from a four (4) year university, and honorary members from community organizations.

A screenshot of the above paragraph from CAIR's webside (just in case they fix the text) is here. The image is to wide for this template to display.

Islam is a liberator of women

I identify as both a Muslim and a feminist and I don’t see this as in any way contradictory.

As a Muslim, I have very little criticism to make of the Qu’ran in terms of its treatment of women. As a doctrinal text, it did indeed widen women’s options, and enshrined rights that women did not previously have. It is, I think, entirely accurate to say that the Qu’ran was an advocate for women’s liberation.

Both feminism and Islam have a healthy preoccupation with women’s rights.

Storm Track Disinformation: CAIR - Promoting Ideology Over Community

Blond Sagacity posted a biting blog on CAIR and its feud with the Fox Network over the TV show 24.

Making a show about modern day terrorism without using Muslims extremists would be like making a Mafia show and using Guatemalans. In fact, considering that almost every act of terrorism over the past 20 years was perpetrated by young radical Muslim males, when I see a show that doesn't have the balls to make the terrorist a Muslim I chalk it up to PC tripe.

Here’s what has CAIR’s burka’s in a bunch.

"..."The overwhelming impression you get is fear and hatred for Muslims," said Rabiah Ahmed, a spokeswoman for the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations. She said Thursday she was distressed by this season's premiere. "After watching that show, I was afraid to go to the grocery store because I wasn't sure the person next to me would be able to differentiate between fiction and reality."

Ahem!! Excuse me!! Americans are quite able to distinguish between fiction and reality. Case in point is 9-11. There was only one incident of Muslim’s being attacked – and killed – and that was on a man wearing a turban who was not even Muslim – he was a Sikh. What Americans seem to be having trouble with is separating fiction from reality when it comes to statements from Islamist supporting organizations and individuals like CAIR.

Blond Sagacity gives examples.

An interim report, from the Conservative Group on National and International Security - one of several policy groups set up by the UK Tory leader David Cameron, said that a "significant number" of Muslim organizations are "keener to promote ideology than the totality of the communities they claim to represent".

The fits CAIR to a ‘T’. But not all Muslims toe the CAIR line.

In case you were wondering after my range map...'US is within our firing range' - Jannati

Tehran - A top Iranian cleric said on Friday the United States was within Iran's "firing range", a day after supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to hit back at US interests worldwide if attacked. "Americans have surrounded us but it works to our advantage. They are within our firing range in the east, west and elsewhere," Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said in his Friday prayer sermon carried live on state radio.

He was referring to the US military presence in neighbouring Iraq and Afghanistan as well as in the Gulf waters off southern Iran.

"Would you dare to violate Iranian borders? See what harm will be done to you then," said Jananti, who heads the hardline electoral watchdog the Guardians Council.

Khamenei on Thursday warned that Iran would hit back at American interests worldwide if the United States attacked the Islamic republic to thwart its nuclear programme.

Well so much for Las Vegas, after all.

Right, stay away from the poker table, dude
I am reminded of 1944 and the Japanese, who said, in order to cut the enemy's bone they must be allowed to cut ours. Result?

But at least we're men about this, right?

A Rare German Gem

I have often quoted the German blog Lizas Welt ("Views on Politics and Football") as my all-time favourite. The blog has become a smash hit since its launch one year ago. Its owner, a member of the "anti-German" Left, this small splinter group, who staunchly support America (and who are, no doubt, considered "Commies" by a sizeable amount of those they are supporting) and Israel.

In spite of the misogynist reactions (among other and worse reactions) -- Lizas Welt does not refer to the first name of the owner, but is, in fact, a reference to Bixente Lizarazu.

Last week, AMERICAN THINKER published an English translation of one of Lizas essays, a rare opportunity for non-German speakers to enjoy this exceptional writer.

"What Goes Around Comes Around"

(Pastorius note: For the uninitiated, the word "Shahada" is Arabic for martyrdom.)

It is difficult for many westerners to believe the shocking depths of depravity that are common amongst the Palestinian populace. Here is part of an interview of two 11 year old Palestinian girls, from official PA TV:
Host: "You described Shahada as something beautiful. Do you think it is beautiful?"

Walla: "Shahada is very, very beautiful. Everyone yearns for Shahada. What could be better than going to paradise?"

Host: "What is better, peace and full rights for the Palestinian people, or Shahada?"

Walla: "Shahada. I will achieve my rights after becoming a Shahida."

Yussra: "Of course Shahada is a good thing. We don’t want this world, we want the Afterlife. We benefit not from this life, but from the Afterlife... The children of Palestine have accepted the concept that this is Shahada, and that death by Shahada is very good. Every Palestinian child aged, say 12, says ’Oh Lord, I would like to become a Shahid." [PATV, June 9, 2002]

Palestinians are indoctrinated with the values of this "Culture of Death" from early childhood. These perverse values are now so much a part of their society that its not alway easy to channel them toward the kuffir (infidel-- i.e. Jews, Christians, and other non-Moslems).

Frequently the victims of the Palestinians' violent tendencies are . . . other Palestinians themselves.

More about this Culture of Death (as well as several links to some shocking videos), is here.

Dear reader(s)...it should be obvious today, you and I are crackpots

An organization called Terrorism Awareness has attempted to place ads in various university newspapers...20 to be exact, and only 7 accepted the ads. The rest rejected this ad outright as 'hateful'.

What, one wonders, could the content have been?

Well, the web site of these 'horrible people' is here.

My my, the major players are Robert Spencer, whose chief fault seems to be his calm ability to assert that Muhammad and what he proposed, are reprehensible to liberal western values, especially the democratic ones. The other hate person, is one David Horowitz, whose crime against humanity was to evolve from communist to libertarian.

So imagine my surprise when this ad elicited from no less than FOX NEWS, in the person of Geraldo, the response along the lines of, (paraphrased).."hey what do you expect from a 'Horowitz'?" as the "money man".
jackdripper3.jpg

One of the Fox blondes (I'm sorry whoever you were) did a very responsible job of trying to prod from Geraldo and the 'balance' from the democratic party side (are there such sides in this thing?) the admission that such an ad may not be so terrible, and the dem chick AGREED, out righting (?) Geraldo.

This response created the sudden revelation that we few who see and think about such things a part of each day, and form the appropriate survival responses, based on liberal western values, are to the uneducated, ostrich mass, as fully crackpotted as General Jack D. Ripper, complaining about the purity of his bodily essences.

Ehren Watada's Many Friends

Hawaii Free Press editor and publisher Andrew Walden has posted an interesting article today over at Frontpagemag. The subject of the article is the mistrial declared in the case of Ehren Watada. Walden notes some of the unsavory characters being called to testify in Watada's defense:

One of the international law "experts" called at Watada’s "Article 32" hearing was University of Illinois Law Professor Frances Boyle. Boyle toured Hawaii in December 2004 speaking to thousands of people at meetings organized by Hawaii secessionist leader Bumpy Kanahele. In his speech, repeated on four Hawaiian islands, Boyle urged Native Hawaiians to emulate the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The speaking tour was co-sponsored by the State of Hawaii Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Boyle has also worked as an attorney for both the PLO and the Chechen rebel "government."

Boyle has a long history of villifying American troops. The same troops that Watada was to lead in Iraq and who are much better off without Lt. Sad Sack stabbing them in the back. Listen to Watada's speech in order to discover what he really thinks of his ex-comrade-in-arms.

In December 2004 Boyle paid a visit to the University of Hawaii-Hilo. At the time I posted a blog entry that provided some information on the beliefs of Boyle:

Boyle's schedule of stops on the Islands can be found here. It is sad, but true, that any in the Hawaiian sovereignty movement have joined forces with the very lowest of the Hate America Left. Francis Boyle certainly belongs to the latter group. Read here Boyle's comparison of the liberation of Fallujah from head chopping psychopaths with the actions of, you guessed it, Nazi Germany. One of the professor's favorite causes is that of Palestinian statehood. Go here to read this insane diatribe "Palestine Should Sue Israel for Genocide Before the International Court of Justice." Here Boyle compares the situation in the West Bank with Hawaii. And here read Boyle doing his limited best to run interference for the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. In this speech, Boyle states that his response to 9/11 would be to "dismantle the 5th fleet." All in all, a very nasty piece of work is this Boyle.

Lt. Sad Sack has advocated that the war in Iraq be stopped the same way (he believes) American involvement in Vietnam was ended: by military personal engaging in mass desertion. Watada claimed that the War on Terror is not about self-defense but "profit and imperialistic domination." He also states that the facts on the ground in Iraq and the current Rules-of-Engagment means the American soldiers "must be a party to war crimes." So, I'm very happy the Watada is not going to Iraq, as should be the soldiers who may have had the misfortune of serving under him.

The fruit does not fall far from the tree. Watada's father, Bob Watada is a prominent figure in Hawaii politics. Last August Bob Watada gave a speech at the Palace theater in Hilo. In discussing the attack upon the USS Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin Papa Watada said:

Speaking of the incident that propelled the United States into the Vietnam War, "I found it hard to believe that 12 fishing ships in the Gulf of Tonkin could fire a torpedo at Navy ships," Bob Watada said.

Soviet built Motor Torpedo Boats (MTBs) have to become "fishing ships" for the leftist true believer. How else can they blame the attack on the Great Satan? Bob's boy is now demonstrating a similar concern for the facts in his rant about Iraq and the American military.

A particular concern Walden raises is whether the loony left is poised to take over the Hawaii Democratic Party. It has been fourteen years since then governor John Waihee refused to fly the American flag from state buildings in order to commemorate the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893:

Controversy erupted when Gov. John Waihee — the state's first governor of Hawaiian ancestry — ordered that the U.S. flag not be flown over state buildings in the Capitol-'Iolani Palace area during the pageant. The Hawaiian flag, however, was flown. Three members of Hawai'i's congressional delegation urged Waihee to reconsider, but he stood firm.

"We're not being disrespectful to the American flag, Waihee said at the time. "We're just not flying it."

As Walden notes:

Watada looks outside the military for support. His father Bob Watada is a figure in the Hawaii Democratic Party who made a name for himself recently as Hawaii Campaign Spending Commissioner, a position he used to root out almost 100 corrupt Democrat politicians and state contractors. In doing so, he made way for younger up-and-coming Kucinich Democrats to take even greater power within the Party at the expense of more mainstream liberal Democrats. The Watada case has been cause for substantial debate within Japanese American groups, preparing the stage for the anti-Americans’ complete takeover of the Hawaii Democratic Party after the eventual passing of Senator Daniel Inouye whose U.S. Senate seniority often helps bring military projects to Hawaii.

In 2004 Dennis Kucinich received about 1/3 of the Hawaii delegates to the Democratic National Convention. William Alia and Earthjustice lawyer David Henkin, the second place primary candidates for the 2006 Democratic Hawaiian gubernatorial and Lt. Governor nominations are deeply involved in lawsuits challenging the U.S. Navy’s use of sonar in the waters off Hawaii and the presence of a Stryker brigade on Oahu with training facilities on the Big Island.

In Honolulu, support for Watada was until recently organized largely by the Maoist front group "Not In Our Name," which is controlled by the Honolulu branch of the Revolutionary Communist Party. Watada support rallies are now controlled by Code Pink, a group co-founded by San Francisco activist Medea Benjamin, a former resident of Castro’s Cuba.

No doubt, Ehren Watada will have a future in Hawaii Democratic politics. The values of both Bob Watada, Ehren Watada and his supporters are becoming that of the Hawaii Democratic mainstream. How sad.

Depravity Defined

Gay.com: Profile: The Gay Muslims.

A Muslim blogger replies to the article above by saying:

Not many Imams “preach the death of gays”, because they don’t tend to talk on the issue at all. But ask any scholar, and almost certainly he’ll explain that homosexual acts are forbidden, and that Islamic law stipulates a punishment - according to the majority, it is death - for those proven guilty of the worst of these acts (sodomy), in the context of a state governed by that law and after due process.

A few might be less than clear on the detailed stipulations, and still fewer might be quite blunt and uncompassionate about the matter - but the opinion that homosexual sodomy is a capital crime in Islamic society is not a “fanatical” one, and those who explain this law should not be considered “fanatics” or condemned for “outrageous and dangerous expression of homophobia”.

It's quite simple really: Islam says to kill homosexuals. Ergo, killing homosexuals can't possibly be outrageous.

Do read the entire post to see just how nonchalantly this lovely fellow affirms the correctness of murdering gays.

Bawer's Book Nominated For Award but ...

Bruce Bawer's book is nominated for the National Book Critics Circle award. The New York Times reports that:
“A previous finalist for the National Book Critics Circle award, announced the newest nominees for the criticism category two weeks ago and said one of the authors, Bruce Bawer, had engaged in ‘racism as criticism.’”

Gasp! What race is this?
The president of the Circle’s board, John Freeman, wrote on the organization’s blog “I have never been more embarrassed by a choice than I have been with Bruce Bawer’s ‘While Europe Slept,’ he wrote. “It’s hyperventilated rhetoric tips from actual critique into Islamophobia.”

Oh, the Islamic race! But, but Islam is not a race … oh, never mind. What say you Mr. Bruce?
“One of the most disgraceful developments of our time is that many Western authors and intellectuals who pride themselves on being liberals have effectively aligned themselves with an outrageously illiberal movement that rejects equal rights for women, that believes gays and Jews should be executed, that supports the cold blooded murder of one’s own children in the name of honor, etc., etc.,”

Seems reasonable or is this the rant of some far right crank? But wait:
“Mr. Bawer’s book jacket is covered with admiring blurbs from well-known conservatives, but he does not fit the typical red-state mold. An openly gay cultural critic from New York who has lived in Europe since 1998, Mr. Bawer has published books like ‘Stealing Jesus,’ a harsh critique of Christian fundamentalism.”

He broke the “red-state mold.” I wonder why. Shall we ask Mr. Van Gogh … too late. Let’s ask his co-filmmaker:
“Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali immigrant who settled in the Netherlands and worked with Mr. Van Gogh, a film director, offers harsh criticism of Islam from an insider’s perspective in her memoir ‘Infidel.’”

Harsh? And what could be too harsh when criticizing the ideology that spawns murderers such as those that killed Van Gogh?
“Mr. Freeman, who said in an interview that he felt a “moral responsibility” to speak out about …”

About Islam?
“… about Mr. Bawer’s book.”

Oooo, that scary book! That’s the threat in today’s world because ... because …

Storm Track Infiltration: Muslim Activism By The Numbers

Remember that tiny majority of Mulsim who do not support the Islamist agenda? Not so tiny if you look at the total picture.

It's just a small fringe, a marginal few at best, they tell us, so don't worry about it all too much. One percent or three percent - who cares? Just sit back, enjoy your morning eggs and coffee and have a nice day. But a look at the numbers tells a very different story. The extent of support for global jihad is frightening in its proportions, and the numbers are anything but insignificant.

Let’s run those numbers.

In a poll conducted five months ago, and broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 TV, nearly 25% of British Muslims said the July 7, 2005, terror bombings in London, which killed 52 innocent commuters, were justified. Another 30% said they would prefer to live under strict Islamic Sharia law rather than England's democratic system.

Now, one in four justifying terror may not be a majority, but it certainly isn't a "small fringe" either.

In other countries, the figures are no less unsettling. A survey published in December found that 44% of Nigerian Muslims believe suicide bombing attacks are "often" or "sometimes" acceptable. Only 28% said they were never justified.

According to the annual Pew Global Attitudes Survey, released in July 2006, "roughly one-in-seven Muslims in France, Spain and Great Britain feel that suicide bombings against civilian targets can at least sometimes be justified to defend Islam." The report also found that less than half of Jordan's Muslims believe terror attacks are never justified. In Egypt, only 45% of Muslims say terror is never justified.

Still hold the position that a tiny minority is responsible for terrorism and violence or support the Islamist agenda? Then consider this.

On the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a survey conducted by Al-Jazeera asked respondents, "Do you support Osama Bin-Laden?" A whopping 49.9% answered: yes.

And the July 2006 global Pew survey found that among Muslims, a quarter of Jordanians, a third of Indonesians, 38% of Pakistanis and 61% of Nigerians all expressed confidence in the mass murderer who founded al-Qaida.

In Lebanon six months ago, the Beirut Center for Research and Information found that over 80% of the Lebanese population said they supported Hizbullah.

And do I need also to mention that a majority of Palestinians backed Hamas in parliamentary elections last year?

And what about the non-Arab world? Surely the success of Indonesia and Malaysia where Muslims enjoy a high standard of living would temper any attempts at Islamist infiltration? Wrong again.

A Proposed Constitutional Amendment

Background and justification to Amendment 28

Whereas Religion is defined as an institution dedicated to improving social conscience and promoting individual and societal spiritual growth in a way that is harmless to others not participating in or practicing the same;

Whereas the United States of America was founded on the ideals of individual rights, including the individual right to practice one’s religion of choice, or no religion, and that there would be no compulsion of religion, nor state sanctioned religion, nor a “religious test” for participation in the body politic;

Whereas Islam includes a complete political and social structure, encompassed by its religious law, Sharia, that supersedes any civil law and that Islam mandates that no secular or democratic institutions are to be superior to Islamic law;

Whereas Islam preaches that it and it alone is the true religion and that Islam will dominate the world and supplant all other religions and democratic institutions;

Whereas Saudi Arabia, the spiritual home of Islam does not permit the practice of any other religion on its soil and even “moderate” Muslims states such as Turkey and Malaysia actively suppress other religions;

Whereas Islam includes as its basic tenant the spread of the faith by any and all means necessary, including violent conquest of non-believers, and demands of its followers that they implement violent jihad (holy war) against those un-willing to convert or submit to Islam, including by deception and subversion of existing institutions;

Whereas on 9/11/2001 19 Muslim hijackers acting in the name of Islam killed 3,000 Americans, and numerous other acts of terrorism have been directed at the American people around the world;

Whereas representatives of Islam around the world including Osama Bin Laden (architect of 9/11), the government of Iran including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, HAMAS, Hezbollah, and other Islamic groups have declared jihad (war) on America, and regularly declare that America should cease to exist;

Whereas there is no organized Islamic opposition to violent proponents of Islam;

Therefore: Islam is not a religion, but a political ideology more akin to Fascism and totally in opposition to the ideals of freedom as described in the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights.

Be it resolved that the following Amendment to the Constitution be adopted:

The Missiles of Qom

Pentagon sees growing Iran long-range missile threat

Iran will have a long-range missile capability within five years, the head of the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency said last week.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Obering told reporters the Iranian missile threat is a prime concern and the main reason the Pentagon is working to set up a third global ground-based anti-missile interceptor based in Poland and a radar site in Czech Republic.

The 10 long-range missile interceptors will be deployed by 2012 to counter the emerging threat of Iranian long-range missiles. “The immediate threat in terms of emerging threats that we see is obviously the Iranians, and they're putting a lot of energy into that [long-range missile] program," Obering said in a conference call with reporters.

The deployment will require further negotiations with the governments of Poland and Czech Republic but both have agreed to provide bases for the interceptor site, which will be similar to the U.S. missile defense interceptor site at Fort Greeley, Alaska.

Obering warned that the Iranians are working aggressively on long-range missiles or space launchers that are often used as cover for missile programs.
shahab_ranges.jpg
Iran has Shahab-3 medium-range missiles, with ranges of 620 miles that are capable of reaching some parts of Europe. Iran is working on Shahab-4, Shahab-5 and Shahab-6 missiles that have ranges from 1,240 miles to 4,154 miles, and which could also be used as nonmilitary space launchers.

4154 miles from Iran?

Turkish human intelligence on the ground in Kurdistan is saying:

Turkish intelligence warns of Iraq split

Turkey’s intelligence service warned last week that instability in Iraq is leading to that country's disintegration.

Turkish military intelligence, known as Milli Istihbarat Teskilati (MIT), published its annual strategic review on the Internet.

The report predicted Iraq would disintegrate in the next three years, with the creation of a Shi'ite state in the center and south of the country and a Kurdish state in the north.

The new Kurdish state, according to MIT, would encourage Kurds to demand separate homelands in Turkey, Iran and Syria.

There is no such place as Iraq
There is no such people as Iraqis

Persians
Kurds
But they have never been a people

Hirsi Ali - Infidel Babe Of The Millenium

"Having grown up within Islam, Hirsi Ali believes she
is uniquely placed to warn the British public that
they are living under a 'great deception' about the
true nature of Islam. 'They have deceived themselves
that the men arrested in the [alleged] beheading plot
last week and the 7/7 bombers are a fringe group of
radical Muslims who've hijacked Islam and that the
majority of Muslims are moderate.
'But they are not. The plot to murder Muslim soldiers
in the British Army is consistent with the purest
teachings of Islam, which encourages you to kill
Muslims who join the infidel army. Violence is
inherent in Islam – it's a destructive, nihilistic
cult of death. It legitimates murder. The police may
foil plots and freeze bank accounts in the short term,
but the battle against terrorism will ultimately be
lost unless we realise that it's not just with
extremist elements within Islam, but the ideology of
Islam itself.'

and lots more...

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the female Churchill (but a lot
better looking), tells it like it is at:

Formerly English Town Now Lives In Dhimmitude

From Lionheart -

http://lionheartuk.blogspot.com/2007/02/allas-luton-militia.html

07 February 2007
'Allah's' Luton Militia - Civil War
‘Jihad’ (Holy war) is a divine command laid out in the Koran for every Muslim to follow. Allah, his prophet Mohamed, the Koran and accompanying books are the ultimate authority to every Muslim on all aspects of life. This authority to a Muslim transcends any man made Democratic laws like what exist in Britain and the Western world. Muslims living in Western Democratic societies do so knowing that they ultimately reject our way of life, its institutions and our laws which have been created over centuries for the protection of our civilized people. Ever Muslim ultimately wants to live under Islamic rule – Sharia Law – and are commanded by Allah through Mohamed and the Koran to conduct Jihad until Islam reigns supreme and Islamic laws is implemented. Until the time Sharia Law is implemented in a non-Muslim country the country is viewed as Dar al-Harb (The House of war), so every Muslim living in the Dar al-Harb views the territory as a war zone for Islam and have to fight on every level until Islam is victorious and the rule of law of the land is converted over to Islamic rule. Once a Dar al-Harb Nation and people have been defeated, the Nation then becomes classed as Dar al-Islam (The House of Peace/Islam). Islamic countries around the world ruled by Islam are Dar al-Islam, so the whole world from a Muslim perspective is split in two, the Dar al-Harb and the Dar al-Islam.

The global Islamic Kingdom have to conduct ‘Jihad’ with the non-Muslim world eternally or until the whole world is conquered and Islam reigns supreme over the whole Earth. Muslims living in non-Muslim countries, the Dar al-Harb like Britain have to fight the non-Muslim inhabitants perpetually until the land is conquered. Within Islam it is permissible for them to rape, pillage, murder and steal to further Islam’s aim of conquest because they view themselves as soldiers in a ‘war of conquest’ for Allah.

As a Christian I can testify that there is no greater motivation upon the Earth than the belief that you are carrying out God’s will. This is the Faith dynamic that drives crazed psychotic maniac Muslims to kill themselves killing innocent women and children. They perpetrate these acts of war against innocent non-Muslim human beings because their Religion, Allah, Mohamed and the Koran command’s them to do it. They are willing participants in Islam genocidal quest of global domination.

In Luton we have a very large Pakistani Muslim encampment that has evolved over the last 40 years into a mini Islamic state with all the ingredients needed for it to be a state within a state within Britain. The Pakistani forbearers of this community were welcomed into our country to work alongside our forefathers in local industry to earn money to provide food, shelter and clothing for their dependents, just like the average British citizen. Little did the British public realize about the beast ‘Islam’ they were welcoming with open arms into their midst. The British people are accepting and welcoming people who try to see the good in all people even when the truth is staring them in the face, so for the past 40 years we have left the Islamic communities who have invaded our shores and set up camp to their own devices. It is only now after horrific global and domestic acts of war perpetrated against us by the ‘global Islamic army’, Al Qaeda, are we asking and wondering what has been going on in Britain amongst the Muslim community for the past 40 years behind closed doors away from the public eye of normal British society.

Security Threat Raised In France

My friends, I am very busy with business this week, and I simply do not have time to post anything that requires thinking on my part. However, Religion of Pieces is sending me some important stuff, so I hope he doesn't mind if I just post his shit. Here it is:

More on the Charlie Hebdo affair below. The French have raised their security alert level from CAPITULATE to COLLABORATE.

"Paris - A French weekly magazine went on trial in Paris Wednesday for having published three caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed in February of last year.

The magazine, Charlie Hebdo, was accused by the Union of Islamic Organizations in France and the Great Mosque of Paris of having committed 'an act of deliberate aggression' against Muslims.

The publisher of Charlie Hebdo, Philippe Val, is charged with 'public defamation of a group of people because of their religion' and faces a maximum jail sentence of six months and a fine of up to 22,500 euros (29,000 dollars) if convicted.

The three caricatures were published on February 8, 2006, in a special edition devoted to caricatures of the Islamic religion. The issue sold 400,000 copies in a few days, whereas the magazine's usual circulation is 140,000.

Two of the caricatures in question had previously been published in September 2005 by the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten, provoking protests and violence by Muslims around the world. "

The Waning Of The American Will

(Thanks to Michael)

The was a time, in a now forgotten era of our history, that Americans went to war to preserve and defend our faith, culture, and "way of life". The noble "battle between the "slave world" of fascism and the "free world" of American liberty" united our parent's generation who without hesitation, took up arms and vanquished the forces of evil that had gathered against us. America recognised the enemy as followers of a godless ideology determined to force western civilization to submit to the rule of Nazism and Fascist Shintoism. America fought back, Freedom and Liberty prevailed. In the year 2007, all the above is just ancient history.

America today is an honorary member of the Mushroom Club (Kept in the dark and fed on manure). Islam has declared war against us and taken thousands of American lives, but we are not at war with Islam. Islam is "Peace" ....unlike Judeo-Christian denominations apparently. US schools have compelled their students to be trained in the ideology of our enemies. How can we fight effectively when the enemy, according to the media and our President, represents "Peace"??

Our World: The waning of American will

Caroline Glick, THE JERUSALEM POST Feb. 5, 2007
Kenyan Foreign Minister Raphael Tuju is on a five-day visit in Israel this week and boy, does Israel have a lot to discuss with him. Unfortunately, it would seem that the Olmert government will fail to recognize this.

The most important question that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his colleagues should be broaching to their Kenyan guest is how his government is coping with the fact that Washington has apparently lost its will to fight the war against the global jihad.

Last week, under pressure from US Ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger, Kenyan authorities released from prison Sheikh Sharif Ahmad, one of the leaders of the ousted al-Qaida-linked Islamic Courts Union (ICU) in Somalia.

In late December, with US backing and support, Ethiopian forces invaded Somalia with forces from the recognized Somali Transitional Federal Government, (TFG). The invasion came a month after the ICU declared jihad against Ethiopia and Kenya. ICU forces, which had set up a Taliban-style tyranny throughout the country, fled before the Ethiopian advance. In just six days, the ICU was overthrown and the recognized Somali government had retaken control over Mogadishu.

From the outset of the Ethiopian invasion, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) both demanded an immediate Ethiopian retreat.

This is not surprising because the ICU has been the beneficiary of generous support from Arab League and OIC member states Eritrea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen and Libya. According to respected military analyst Bill Roggio, US intelligence officials maintain that the so-called Saudi "Golden Chain" of al-Qaida financiers have given $200 million to the ICU since last spring. The EU also demanded that Ethiopia withdraw its forces and that the TFG negotiate an accord with al-Qaida's front organization in the Horn of Africa. Today EU humanitarian aid commissioner Louis Michel has linked EU assistance to the TGF to its acceptance of ICU elements in its government.

THE US was the only country that backed Ethiopia, and with good reason. Shortly after Ethiopian forces took control of Mogadishu, US aircraft pursued fleeing al-Qaida terrorists in southern Somalia after intelligence reports indicated that among the fleeing ICU leaders were the masterminds of the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam.

Disturbingly, the US seems to have abandoned the fight. The State Department has joined the EU, the Arab League and the OIC in calling for "reconciliation" between the TFG and the ICU and supports the participation of "moderate" jihadists in the Somali government. Speaking to African journalists this week in Addis Ababa, US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer said, "I think the [ICU] was hijacked by the extremists from within. And there are members who want negotiation to participate in national reconciliation."

So it is that the US ambassador in Nairobi, Kenya, forced Kenyan authorities to release Sharif Ahmad from jail.. Commenting to the Kenyan media on his release, Prof. Ali Abdiweli, a US-based Somali professor with ties to the TFG said, "I am outraged by the behavior of [the US ambassador] to Kenya. More than 3,000 Somalis died because of Sheikh Sharif and the ICU.

"[Sharif] should be put on trial. Here we go again saying that he is moderate... This is nonsense, and there is no way that Sheikh Sharif will accept any secular government. Actually, the behavior of the ambassador will encourage the remnants of the Islamic Courts."

THE US policy of appeasing jihadists in the Horn of Africa is just one example of the recent turn that US policy has taken regarding the war against the global jihad. On every major front, and particularly in its dealings with Israel, Iraq and Iran, the Bush administration is implementing policies that undermine its allies, strengthen its enemies and consequently harm US national security interests.

While the administration and the new Democratic Congress argue over troop levels and funding for the US military in Iraq, as former CIA analyst Robert Baer wrote last week in Time magazine, Iran has effectively taken control of Basra, Iraq's port city and oil hub. The Iranian toman rather than the Iraqi dinar is the currency of trade in the city. The Shi'ite holy city of Najaf is also veering toward becoming a protectorate of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

Although he is far from alone, the central Iraqi leader enabling the Iranian takeover is Abdul Aziz al-Hakim. Hakim, who heads the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) spent the 20 years preceding the US-led invasion of Iraq in Iran. SCIRI's militia - the Badr force - has overt ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Indeed, both the Badr militia and SCIRI were created in Iran in 1982 by the Revolutionary Guards.

SCIRI is the largest faction in the Iraqi parliament today, and Hakim is considered key to ensuring stability in Iraq. To this end, he was brought to Washington last December to meet with President George W. Bush.

But since Hakim is controlled by Iran, by attempting to appease him, the US is effectively attempting to collaborate with Iran in a manner that facilitates the Iranian takeover of Iraq. This move is opposed by US military commanders in the country who are tired of allowing the Iranians to kill US forces at will. Yet while they are reportedly demanding that the authority kill Iranian operatives in Iraq, their moves are being blocked by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her associates at the State Department and the CIA.

THIS CRITICAL dispute currently revolves around the issue of whether or not the White House will publicly reveal evidence of Iran's deep involvement in the war in Iraq generally, and attacks against US forces specifically. Rice and her colleagues argue for suppressing the information. Revealing the depth of Iranian operations against the US, they argue, will force the US to actually fight back.

That is, apparently, Rice and her associates would rather see Iran take control of Iraq, and so bring about the most humiliating defeat of US forces since the Vietnam War, than acknowledge that Iran is fighting the US and its allies.

This preference for appeasement and defeat in Africa and the Persian Gulf is even more apparent in the US dealings with the Palestinians. Ahead of his summit with Hamas terror masters Khaled Mashaal and Ismail Haniyeh today in Mecca, Fatah chief and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said, "We must unite the Hamas and Fatah blood in the struggle against Israel as we did at the beginning of the intifada. We want a political partnership with Hamas and we are not only optimistic, but also very serious about this. And that's why we're going to Mecca."

Fatah forces make no attempt to hide their involvement in terror attacks against Israel. They wear their Aksa Martyr Brigades T-shirts beneath their official uniforms. And yet, this week it was revealed that some $76.4 million of the $86.4 million that the US plans to give to Fatah will go to training 13,500 terror forces. That is, the US is now openly involved in training and equipping Palestinian terrorists who, as Abbas makes clear, are seeking to expand their operations to kill Israelis.

Furthermore, last month Rice signaled that the US is easing off its refusal to engage the Hamas terror group. Speaking to European reporters, Rice referred to the jihadist terror group as a "resistance movement."

IN MANY ways it makes sense that Bush has lost his will to fight. Since the September 11 attacks, the president has refused to acknowledge the true nature of the forces arrayed against the US and the rest of the free world. By insisting on referring to the war against Sunni and Shi'ite jihad as a war against terrorism, Bush refused to acknowledge the identity of America's enemies or the scope of their power and ambitions. Consequently, he has approved policies in Iraq, and indeed throughout the world, which are based on a denial of the nature of the enemy and so cannot possibly defeat its forces.

Now, frustrated with the seemingly intractable realities on the ground and in the political battlefield in Washington, Bush is attempting to establish a middle course between victory and surrender. Unfortunately, this course - which involves handing over the fruits of military victories to jihadists and their state sponsors - cannot help but ensure the defeat Bush rightly wishes to avoid.

Were Olmert and his colleagues in the government to recognize this state of affairs, perhaps they could join forces with governments - like the Kenyan government - to persuade Bush of the dangers inherent in his embrace of this recipe for failure. Unfortunately, in light of the Olmert government's own failures to contend with the growing threats to Israel's security, it is difficult to imagine its members acting in such a constructive and prudent manner.
