Historization Of The Koran: How Islam Can Evolve Into A Moder Religion

From Reliapundit:

All Muslims have to do - to forge a form of Islam which can co-exist with the West and modernity - is come to accept that the bellicose directives in the Quran were historically relative: they were for Mohamed's time and his time ONLY, and not for all time or for everyone.

So when Mohamed says that Allah - via Gabriel - told him to behead and/or pillage this tribe or that one, it was not a generalizable dictum to be applied anywhere and anytime, but one specific time and place.

This historicization would allow contemporary Muslims to make an effort to find ways to fulfill the Quran's bellicose directives in peaceful ways much more acceptable in today's times.

Either they accept this, or - ultimately - we shall have to vanquish them, utterly.

In a war between 11th Century Islam and 21st Century Western Civilization we mustn't let the past win. And we must be willing to do ANYTHING to prevent them from winning - or even ENCROACHING our hard won liberties. (Sadly - because of the Left and multiculturalism and cultural relativism, they have already begun encroaching on our liberties all over the West - with "creeping sharia".)

Muslims will have to come to accept the secularization of the political realm and historicization of the religious.

Or they must be erased. We cannot co-exist with an ideology which embraces genocide and suicide.

YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

9:5 Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.

Anonymous,
Your point is valid.

Thanks.

And besides, I guess it shouldn't be up to us Pigheaded Infidels to come up with a solution to Islam's Theological problems.
