Holy Schnikes, Qaradawi ...The pontiff will call for terrorists to convert to Christianity

Pope will pray for terrorists at Ground Zero

The Pope will pray for the redemption of Islamic terrorists when he visits the site of the September 11 attacks in New York next week.

The pontiff will call for terrorists to convert to Christianity, saying: "Turn to Your way of love those whose

hearts and minds are consumed with hatred.

"God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance".

The prayer is likely to further incense the Muslim world, which has already attacked the Pope for publicly converting Magdi Allam, a journalist and one of Italy's most high-profile Muslims, at Easter.

Osama bin Laden accused the Pope of trying to provoke "a new crusade" against Islam.

Aref Ali Nayed, a leading scholar and proponent of peaceful relations (uh...otherwise known as taqiyya) between the Roman Catholic Church and Islam, said that there were "genuine questions about the motives, intentions and plans of some of the Pope's advisers on Islam".

Maybe we should actually be turning that statement around there Aref, old chap.

This is Pope is a cool, sneaky little dude isn't he? His words seem bland, but the total of the three overt actions (if this article is true) create a coherent little story, no?

The speech taken from medieval times, the conversion, and now this....CARRY ON DUDE.

It's all just the expression of religious freedom, and free speech. DELICIOUS.

He really is cool sometimesj, isn't he? Just when I think he's packed it in he hits them with another zinger.

Wish I could be down there -- downtown is going to be wall-to-wall cops again.

The Pope is going to publicly pray for the conversion of Muslims? Way to go!

Finally, someone in Christendumb gets it! You are supposed to pray for your enemies. Now, I used to believe that was a lame response, the response of people not willing to defend themselves, but seeing the response it provokes, I realize why Christ said what he said. It takes more courage to publicly pray than to just 'say' a prayer for muslims.

I agree with AOW, this is done to provoke.

The Pope is out Infidel-ing us. Thank God.

Shame it doesn't work... if it did, there would be no muslims left.

I think he is split between fighting Islam and secularism - he seems at times to be unsure which is the greater threat to his church. Replacement by a more agressive religion, or a loss of all religion?

I'd side with the secularists. At least they wont kill anyone.

Oh yes pope is so evil for wishing that "peaceful Muslims" would convert. He is doing such harm to the peaceful image of Islam. Keep in mind he isn't threatening anyone for refusing to convert to Catholicism. If those "peaceful Muslims" really want to convince us they practice a religion of peace, THEY should stop threatening people who peacefully disagree with them. Christianity is far more of a religion of peace than Islam. While there may be some valid criticism of Christianity, when was the last time any main stream Christian openly called for forced conversion, supported stoning of homosexuals, justified rape or called for the murder of cartoonist who negatively portrayed Jesus? Yet the most consistent and violent Muslims blame people like the Pope for their fanaticism. Yes, we are to believe that peacefully disagreeing with Islam is the cause of their evil and fanaticism. Even if the Pope's prayers do nothing to change these evil people, I am glad he is doing this, It may get a lot of people to see the true nature of our Islam-o-Fascist enemy.

Gee Damien, I hope your comment wasn't directed at me. I should have added "He's the Man!" to the end of my comment.

I support what he is doing and hope he keeps on doing it.

Christine,

I do support what he's doing. If you can't tell, the first few lines of my comment was me being sarcastic. Keep in mind "Peaceful Muslims" was in quotes. Reread everything I wrote, and no my comment wasn't directed at you. It was directed at naive liberal secularists and our evil Jihadist enemies.

Oh, I wasn't questioning your support, I fully understood what you said. I thought you may have gotten the wrong impression of the picture I linked to that's all.
