He Speaks Sooth

"The central problem that we now face is Islamic extremism, for which the only real solution is to arrest it and to demonstrate its incapacity to achieve its objectives. Otherwise, the momentum is going to become stronger and stronger."

(10/10/2008) Henry Kissinger to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy

Well, it appears Kissinger is finally getting warmer. His description appeared to be finely tuned to Iran's threat. Kissinger does not recognize the full scope of Islam's doctrinal threat by limiting his scope to nationalistic red-herrings of the ummma. While recognizing the global threat posed by Iran's nuclear ambitions, he doesn't mention similar long documented covert ambitions of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria etc.
He seems to comprehend our time is too short for this learning curve. It's a start . . .but is it too late?

OT: BAGHDAD (Reuters) – A suicide car bomber struck the convoy of Iraq's minister of labor on Thursday, killing 11 people and wounding 22, police said.

A spokesman for the ministry said the minister, Mahmoud al-Sheikh Radhi, was unhurt. Three of his bodyguards were among the dead.

A Reuters television cameraman in the vicinity filmed the blast but an Iraqi soldier confiscated his videotape.

Pity. The Iraqi soldier had his wits about him to confiscate the videotape. Too bad he didn't also take al-Reuter's cameraman with him for questioning. It didn't dawn on this soldier that al-Reuter's cameraman was conveniently in place to film the explosion and should have been detained and then persuaded to reveal his sources for such opportunity.

"demonstrate its incapacity to achieve its objectives"

Why do I think he is not talking about a dialog?

I like that, Epa. It makes me sick to hear politicians say they want more dialog with these guys. You would think any idiot could look at the effect of all the dialog Israel has had with Palestine and see the futility.

Let's give "giving up on peace" a chance.
