Ok this is a joke. There is neither an effort towards peace, nor a peace. There is a continuation of the govt which demands Israel die, as the expression of the will of the people who just suffered for this need. The rockets WILL continue. At best, unless the palestinian peoples themselves get rid of this govt (whose election IS the reason for the blockade), there will be a few short months of LESS ROCKETS into Israel.Saudi Arabia pledges $1 billion to rebuild Gaza
Yet...
KUWAIT CITY (AP) - The Saudi king says his country will donate $1 billion to help rebuild the Gaza Strip after Israel's devastating three-week offensive in the Palestinian territory.
King Abdullah criticizes Israel for using excessive force in Gaza and says "one drop of Palestinian blood" is more valuable than all the money in the world.
The king spoke Monday in Kuwait City at a summit focused on boosting economic growth and development in the Arab world.
The Al Saud are not stupid. They understand what will happen to this investement if HAMAS remains. Perhaps the west shopuld be asking if they suffer from the need that Israel dies every bit as much as HAMAS, and what this means for the future.
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !
Best of luck with this one, Barry!

Just a little small change to hlp pay for the next round
shiva,
Someone should let the Palestinians know that no matter what the Saudis give them, it won't match what the Israelis have. If they can't defeat Israel, even with the world condemning Israel for defending herself, I don't think some lower grade weapons from the Saudis is going to cut it. That is something to be thankful for.

King Abdullah and other members of the house of Saud don't really give a crap about the plight of the Palestinians, just as most Arab governments could sincerely care less. They do realize, however, that their own citizens are furious with them for their inaction during the assault on Gaza. In order to protect their monarchy from those who wish to overthrow them (i.e. Bin Laden and other jihadist supporters), they seek to appease their own populations with the illusion that they are helping the Palestinians. They will not send weapons, just money that will likely be used to buy more weapons. If they did send weapons, that would cause major problems with their primary supplier of advanced weaponry, the United States.
The only things that should be sent is a bucket and spade.
You know the old saying Give enough monkeys a pen and paper....
