DUH! And the lesson learned was ???The Obama administration held indirect talks with the Taliban insurgent movement in a bid to reach a settlement of the eight-year war in Afghanistan but the talks failed due to the terrorist group's intransigence.
According to news reports from Pakistan, the talks were held with Taliban representatives and representatives of the Saudi and Pakistani intelligence services.
"Saudi and Pakistani intelligence services" -and what DOES THAT TELL US people?
Pakistan's The News, quoting Pakistani Foreign Office sources in Islamabad, reported Nov. 26 that the back channel talks were prompted by U.S. worries over losing ground to the insurgents.
So why would they be productive?
The report said negotiations with the Taliban included offering the militia a portion of Afghan administration as part of a political settlement.

The goal of the talks was to try and convince the Taliban to separate from their Al Qaida collaborators. The talks included officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Britain, some key leaders of the Afghan Taliban, and the chief of the Islamabad-based Jamiatul Ansar Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil.
Do our people UNDERSTAND ANYTHING? If such a thing were possible, Bin Laden and Zawalhiri would already be in our hands AS THE OPENING MOVE FROM THE OTHER SIDE. UGH!
