Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock

Isarel is going to move, with or without us. And soon. The sooner the better though it may send the better part of the mideast up in flames. And Iran is probably (ought to be) expecting it.

And they're certainly not going to give a shit what Britain thinks after this.

Israel: Iran Nearing Atomic Bomb Capability
Tuesday, 15 Dec 2009 10:49 AM

Israel's military intelligence chief says Iran is close to a "technological breakthrough" that would enable it to build nuclear weapons.

Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin says Iran has enough nuclear material for a warhead and is close to being able to build one. He doesn't specify the new technology or say when he expects Iran to reach such a capability.

The assessment, made in a speech Tuesday, matched similar observations Yadlin has given in closed briefings to Israeli leaders. However, he rarely speaks in public, and the comments reflected Israel's deep concerns about Iran.

Israel and many Western countries believe Iran is racing to develop a nuclear weapons program. Iran says its nuclear program is strictly for energy production.

What an amazing coincidence. Israel's warheads are all intended strictly for energy production too! A shit-load of it, on demand, on location, on time.

PatriotUSA said "England may already be lost to the Mulsim hordes"

2% or maybe 3% of the population are NOT going to persuade the other 98% that Sharia is the way without a bloody fight . . . in which case they would be exterminated.

As for anti semetism, England is one of the least anti-semetic countries in Europe . . . apart from the Muslims.

I think you are confusing a bad law that should have been removed with anti-semetism. The law was not brought in just to deal with Jews you know.

The issue is Israel and if the Israelis are criticised for perceived war crimes then that is not anti-semetic.

Most of us in the UK have a clearer view of Israel than the US, who can see Israel doing no wrong. And before anyone jumps in, don't think we are on the side of the Palestinians . . . we/I am not. They are the enemy, Israel is fighting on behalf of us all but that does not make Israel always right. Sometimes they commit atrocities that can be considered as war crimes, atrocities that cannot be justified by crude rocket attacks.

I know I am likely to be vilified here because of this balanced, moderate, comment but WTF, but before you do at least read what I have said without skimming over and taking things out of context.

Why is it that Britain is arresting Livni, but not attempting to arrest Mahmoud Abbas or Hassan Nasrallah?

Why is it Britain only seems to be concerned when Israel is "not right"?

Try having crude rockets falling near your home for a few months, and see if you believe you ought to kill the perpetrators with malice.

I'm not going to vilify you, but I don't think you are thinking fairly here.

I'm thinking without bias either way which is as fair as it can get.

"Why is it that Britain is arresting Livni, but not attempting to arrest Mahmoud Abbas or Hassan Nasrallah?"

It's to do with a bad/ridiculous law that is being exploited by the anti Israeli faction, not the British Government. Presumably Mahmoud Abbas and Hassan Nasrallah have not been accused of war crimes - right or wrong - and have they travelled to the UK? If not how could anyone with a vested interest take out an arrest warrent?

I say: It's the result of a "bad law", as you say? It's the "anti-Israel faction"?

Then, why are you defending it? It's preposterous.

Every country makes mistakes during time of war.

Should the U.S. also be brought up on war crimes charges?

Do you know what the effect of such charges is on the morale of the troops?

Do you think British troops ought to be brought up on war crimes charges?

Should British troops be looking over their shoulders as they fight battles with people who want to destroy their civilization?

You obviously have not read what I have written despite my plea to do so in my first comment. At what point do you think I am defending it or anything? I am merely pointing out the facts of the situation as so many people misread stuff on this blog and go OTT.

Your second comment is hardly worthy of an answer. Both British and American troops do not indiscriminately bomb/target civilians and if civilians are killed it is usually accidental AND minimal.

Ray,
Gotcha. Makes sense.

But, what is this about?

"Most of us in the UK have a clearer view of Israel than the US, who can see Israel doing no wrong."

Look at our President for God's sake. We elected him, you know. Maybe you mean IBA is too pro-Israel. But, IBA sure as hell doesn't represent the American people in general.

Sadly, our current administration and Congress represent the American people, though not for long.

I wonder if any of the "sometimes" that Israel is presumed to have commited atrocities, might afford Ray Boyd the luxury of providing reference to a one time, presently. It isn't so hard for myself, an American even, to conceive that atrocities have been committed. But the vast majority of those alledged, I have found to be bogus. Such vague allusions, however innocently written, reflect and serve anti-Semitic propaganda.
