Milwaukee Issues Press Release on Racial Turmoil at State Fair: "We're Reaping the Harvest We've Sown"

Two aldermen of the City of Milwaukee have issued a press release addressing the black-on-white attacks at the Wisconsin State Fair.  In the press release, they did something unprecedented:  they placed the blame on the black community, where in fact it actually belongs.

The press release states:
We’re Reaping the Harvest We’ve Sown
Statement of Alderman Bob Donovan and Alderman Joe Dudzik
August 5, 2011

As elected officials, we are shocked and concerned about the senseless violence
displayed by the large mob outside State Fair Park last night. On behalf of our city, we
apologize to the victims and good patrons who endured or witnessed such horrific
behavior.
Sadly, what transpired near State Fair Park last night is only the most recent mob riot
spawned by a culture of violence that has been brewing in Milwaukee for some time.
And let’s face it, it also has much to do with a deteriorating African American culture in
our city.
Are large groups of Hispanics or Hmong going out in large mobs and viciously attacking
whites?  No. We are reaping the harvest that we’ve sown.
How so?
Go read the whole thing at Stogie's Place.

Godless undisciplined youth, victims of their own mothers, fathers, and leaders, who have bought the lie that they are victims of white people.

How about accepting some personal responsibility?

Good to see your not into contraversial statements....

A rather sharp contrast to the current riots in and around London. Though the cause is still being disputed (re the shooting of a black youth), the rather peaceful demonstration by the community leadership was then railroaded by mostly mixed or white youths who chose to burn, loot and throw bricks and fire-bombs on authorities. ITN showed footage of a burning bus, shops and house and who were amongst the agitators and ransackers? Women, men as well as youth, one Sikh (by the headress), an old lady in a sari and at least two rather overweight orthodox Jews.

At least our thugs are multi-cultural!

Damien,
You are aware we did not write that those words, right.

For the record, we did not write this:

"And let’s face it, it also has much to do with a deteriorating African American culture in
our city."

The post clearly makes the point that it is the statement of "Alderman Bob Donovan and Alderman Joe Dudzik
August 5, 2011 "

put out by the City of Milwaukee.

Sheesh.

Pastorius said...

And Damien, just in case you do not know the meaning of the word "Alderman", here it is:

An alderman is a member of a municipal assembly or council in many jurisdictions founded upon English law. The term may be titular, denoting a high-ranking member of a borough or county council, or denote a council member chosen by the elected members themselves rather than by popular vote.[1]

The title is derived from the Old English title of ealdorman, literally meaning "elder man", and was used by the chief nobles presiding over shires.

Isn't it amazing how Damien's brain clogs up whenever something doesn't fit his "stop blaming the perpetrators" template.

I don't see what is so controversial about the statement.
Please explain how the statement is controversial.
I'm guessing that in a worldview of lies the truth does become controversial.

Racial assaults at the Wisconsin State fair have about nothing to do with riots in London.

By the way, I bet you are purposely skewing the truth about the racial makeup of the rioters anyway. I'm gonna bet that after all is said and done the riioters will be found to be at least 85% plus either foreigners, Mohammedans, or some other minority group.

We have aldermen here as well as do most English speaking nations.

My comment was general and partly in good humour, obviously that is lacking at present.

Personally I have no issue with that community, my synical comment was in view of how certain people in "your community" would take it.

"Sheesh", to use your phrase, get some context please.

"[m]y synical comment...."

Pardon my scepticism, but do we really believe the English school system passes out students from the fourth form who can't spell common terms in the English language? Do they go on to law school from such a lowly position? Do they award degrees to illiterates just for fun? Do they now pass out Q.C.s on Guy Fawkes Day to retards to make everyone feel good? Or am I being synical? Sinical. No, I mean cincinatical. Oh, just give me the Q.C, and quit complaining.

I've seen the evidence, and the verdict is in: Evil Damien, worthless tosser, has likely got his legal education in gaol, as a prisoner.

The English are strange, indeed, but they aren't simply stupid. Lawyers have a few centuries of law on the rest of the world, and one has to know some of it to pass through ones degree, let alone pass the bench.

Q.C.? I wonder if this is some prison slang for "Queen's Crack."

Ban this wanker. "Please," he writes so politely it squeaks.

"deteriorating African American culture in our city"

Why is this happening in particualr to african americans?

In the inner city, a tough, depressing, dangerous place (I am from the Bronx you see in the movies..where lunch $ extortion began in 3rd grade), the USA has seen the Irish, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Eastern Europeans, Koreans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, but IN PARTICULAR we seem to notice this in relation to our black population.

Is this objective? Is there something which was done to their society which 160 years after emancipation, 6-7 generations later makes it all different for them?

Or is there a sociological political program which affects them BECAUSE OF THAT more than other groups?

Or is this a figment of media attention?

Milwaukee more than other places has seen not just racial tension, but MILITANT SOUNDING offense taking and actions. That part IS objective.

WHY?

I wonder what the value of comments made from someone who is named after the dried faeces left dangling from the wool on a sheep's rear end.

Frankly speaking I normally do not respond to infantile personal attacks. In this case though I will point out that I am just as Spanish (here it is called Llanitos) than simply English (which I am not, I am Gibraltan - though the the rest of the UK incorrectly call as Gibraltarians. My English is perfectly fine but I write fast as I tend to go on (and on, and on...which is a reflection of my age and working style) but presently I type on a rediculous iPad with the worst form of keyboard you can image - so frankly I do not bother, like not bothering to give value to juvenile wannabe-pedants oh y tu eres un tonto, payaso.

Something in me itches to find the meaning of obtuse.

Damien, chill. Virtually no one gets banned here.

The fray is sport.

Dag, c'mon.

Don't you know we have someone masquerading as conservative, who quotes from the left?

After all, until 2007 I remained a registered Democrat.

Just think of Damien as semi-marcher lord version of Edward Brooke.

Epa, Brooklyn used to be a genuinely multi-cultural place, back when we we were kids. But that was home-life, while life on the street or at school was where we were all American, and proudly so, and didn't know or begin to understand what it was to be anything else. Even into my late 20s I found myself utterly confused by a Canadian who asked my "what I am" meaning ethnically. I had no idea what he was asking. I told him repeatedly that I'm American. He got more and more flustered till he had to blurt it out, "What country do you family come from?" I told him we come from America. I was clueless. Now, so it seems, very few of us are American. More's the pity.

Christine, I hate to use the word nuance, but what has developed in the USA is that by good intentions over those who have been found to be 'unable' to succeed we have by virtue of the addiction of free money created a group of people OF ALL SORTS who don't even KNOW their existence has been corrupted UTTERLY, as well as that of everyone they know and associate with (sort of like Goldman Sachs, BOFA, JP Morgan and Deutsches Bank shorting mortgage securities while touting them, insisting to S&P they be AAA, and lying to AIG about the risk...but seeing nothing wrong since the criterion was accumulation of capital)

Color has nothing to do with it. In Milwaukee it HAPPENS to be black people, but it could be any group WITHOUT THE NEEDED FAMILY AND SOCIAL NEGATIVE VIEW OF DEPENDENCE. Once you pass a certain number of years in the free money cycle, probably the age at which your govt dependent children recognize the source of incoming 'wealth', the social group no longer can recognize it's been totally debauched.

When the sources of wealth, incoming tax payments being redistributed are threatened, even when this is VAGUELY SENSED, their 'rights' have been threatened.

If Wisconsin has reached the $ limit as they did w/rgd to teachers unions, and it's going to be a general tightening of $, it's going to get worse.

In a place like Milwaukee, with the more militant political race history there, I would not be shocked to see the guard before the end.

Dag, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
Going to PS 6 in the Bronx in the 50's, NO ONE PAID THE SLIGHTEST ATTENTION to ethnicity. When MLK and the Civil Rights movement got going, it had LITTLE TO DO with how we lived our lives THERE. It was about some cracker freaks who were on another planet.
We didn't know what it was about, and couldn't understand it because NOBODY REALLY CARED ABOUT ethnicity or color AT ALL.

That is ALL OVER

Christine sent this comment to me to post:

I hear you Epa. I lived in what I term the "dirty" part of VA. Full of good for nothing, "skanky" whites. The saddest group of eole I have ever seen. They whined and bellyached about their situation. Didn't appear to have the motivation to improve their lot. But, they were't out beating in heads.

I see the difference between a class issue and a race issue, as miles apart. Although we have had some roblems with class warfare in the past, it doesn't even come close to the ramifications of a race war. Whereas a class war is largely centered within a smallish group, a race war has the possibility of expanding out, eating its way up the chain. Including those in higher laces. Race in this country is a sore spot waiting to fester again. The riots took lace very recently.

On another note; I know plenty of eople who haven't had it easy in life. Have at one time or another take assistance. What makes them keep their sanity? Why do they not fall in line with the others who have decided to take their personal anger out on whitey?

It's just a point I ponder.
