According to a story in yesterday's Mideast Christian News, Muslims in the village of Basra in Alexandria, Egypt, surrounded the local Coptic church, St. Lyons, during divine liturgy, "demanding that visiting Copts leave the church before the completion of prayers, and threatening to burn down the church if their demand was not met."
The priest, Father Severus, hurriedly contacted police by phone asking for aid only to be told to comply with their demands, "and do not let buses with visitors to come to the church anymore."
In face of such threats, Christian worshippers exited the church halfway through liturgy to jeers outside. As they drove away, Muslims hurled stones at their buses, and the priest was warned by "salafis and extremists" never again to allow visitors to the church, otherwise they would "destroy it."

If Epa is referring to the Middle-East geographically he is wrong and if he is actually talking about the MENA region, even more so.
Lebanon and Turkey people can attend their religous beliefs safely and to be very honest, most Christians in Egypt are not hassled unless they are in an area targeted by "salafists and extremists" which in itself explains that it is in fact a fringe, albiet dangerous, minority.
One must be really careful using information from groups that specialise in promoting agendas that require bashing other faiths such as Raymond Ibrahim does for Horrowitz. Remembering that Horrowitz is willing to spend his millions on anything that puts Muslims in a bad light to help his financing of Settlers in Palestinian land. Horrowitz, we should also recall, is also the main financial backer of Geert Wilders, and that says it all.

The salafis (MB and the other even more freakish calloused forehead group) WON 2/3 OF THEIR LEGISLATIVE SEATS AND THE PRESIDENCY, not bad for a fringe.

No Turkish women are not being pressured to be covered, in fact life has pretty much not changed a bit for secularist Turks, the only difference is that those whom were pushed by secularist governments not to show thier faith are now free to do so.
As or Lebanon, yes Hezbollah are a great problem but they are mostly confined to the south along the Israeli border. You mentioned two names - both whom make money from lashing out at an entire faith with gross generalizations because of mistreatment or bad experiences they had in their own singular community.
As for what you think is rot, as I suggest you start reading news items and factual/academic material and not blog-garbage that feeds itself and just goes around in mad circles of self-congratulation.
Yes Salafism is a misery and the greatest problem facing that country. As for the MB, with just a bit of research you will discover that like most other "Islamist political groups" there is the political wing and then there are those factions, in fact like many political parties around the world, they are the thugs. The political wing of the MB in Egypt has often distanced itself from the thugs and has, like in Turkey, committed itself to honouring agreements, not targetting extremists and representing the entire population.
Now the reality check is that we do not know how successful they will be, how much can they and will they reign in the thug element. If they are like the Turks, Tunisians and Moroccans (all have technnically an "Islamist" party) they will do ok. Remember also this, the new President has made it clear that he will honour the treaty with Israel and also said that he will have two VPs, a woman and a christian.
The key word here is context, something that is lacking in practically every single post here. I would have no issues if things were in context and a bit more realisitc. About six months to a year ago I mentioned this and all I got was school yard gossip and utter rubbish, I see not much has changed. Obviously you all simply are on the self-feeding merry-go-round and have not bothered much when it comes to facts.
