Fox:

Syria reportedly apologizes for shooting down Turkish warplane
URGENT: There are reports that the Turkish military jet that disappeared today over the Mediterranean near Syria may have been shot down by Syrian forces.

A Hezbollah TV station in Lebanon quotes Syrian security sources as saying the plane was shot down by Syria -- which is closely allied with Hezbollah.

And a Turkish newspaper, citing an unnamed Turkish official, says Syria has apologized for downing the plane. A reporter for the newspaper said both pilots had survived.

Officials have told Turkey's state-run media that crews from Syria and Turkey have been searching for the plane, an F-4 jet. It's not clear if it went down in Syrian waters.

The plane took off from a military base in southern Turkey. It's not clear if it was on a training mission.

I know this is all very dangerous and can potentially lead to a widespread war, but right now I just can't hide my deep sense satisfaction and grinning soul.

These feelings have come after many years of giving the ME a chance. Take that back, many chances.
