All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

NEWS IS COMING SO FAST THIS IS ALL I CAN MANAGE, GUYS.
Al Harby doesn't translate directly into a Western last name like Smith. Just because someone is called John Smith, doesn't mean he's related to Jane Smith.
However clan names in Saudi Arabia denote familial ties and clans in Saudi Arabia are still one big tribal family.
So if 11 people in the clan of Al-Harby are terrorists, then that means those 10 people were terrorists with their family's knowledge and most probably financial support.
Also if 5 of those 11 people were in Gitmo that means that whole clan of Al-Harby mourned (or celebrated, depending on how the family perceives arrest over martyrdom) that fact together.
Like I said, clan relations of Arabs (and some other Muslim countries) do not directly translate to Western family structure. You could consider a clan being an example of an American family but with a lot of kids.
Say you have a son and you brought your son up teaching him to kill Jews...then he gets arrested, you will be directly affected...same thing with anyone from the Al-Harby clan.
Shoebat tried to explain this sort of connection by giving examples of Aldawsari clan but I don't think he did a very good job (Shoebat is not a very good writer).
On that note, I don't even think I'm doing a good job at explaining this.
That may not necessarily be the case. Most likely the number of Al-Harbys would be in the 100s. But that's not based on any factual information, just the tribes my father knew and from experience of how many people belonged to those tribes whenever we visited them for Eid etc.
However, the number doesn't matter because of the tight-knit nature of Arab and Muslim households. Some 90%+ of Pakistanis support what we call terrorism and they call Jihad. Pakistan has a population of 170 million. 65% are over the age of 15. Do you see that many people blowing themselves up or shooting people up? No. Only a few do the act, the rest do their religious duty by supporting them.
From a Muslim perspective, your comment about "drop in the bucket" makes no sense to me. Your way of thinking is very Western...very logical. It has no place in Islam.

Pasto, if you're interested, read this from Shoebat about Alharby:
Alharby with other Saudis at the marathon
Alharby clan has ties to Al Qaeda
Received the info from another comment. Thanks!
This all is happening so fast.
Nico, that stuff from Shoebat doesn't make sense to me.
Why would people with the name al-Harby be any worse than anyone else?
Pastorius,

Not even sure this was your question...
Well, you're trying.
I assume there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of al-Harby's.
Therefore, to my perception, 11 is a drop in the bucket.

Alright.
Well then, I have no way of understanding what Shoebat is talking about, so I still have to discount it, because I don't really trust him.
Lol. Fair enough.
And you're right. Just like what I said about the guy's Facebook page, this information does not make him a terrorist.
Yep.
That's one of the reasons why you're so valuable. You can read these cultural cues.
We can't .
