All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
While I agree with your sentiment he is also an (naturalized) American citizen arrested by American law enforcement on American soil and therefore to be afforded the same protections any other American would be, although I am not sure how the nuances of that work in a situation like this. It would suck if he were spared any of what's coming to him because someone made a procedural slip up.
Personally, I'd like to see him questioned with a 9mm to each kneecap then taken to a filthy rat infested alley, have that suicide vest restrapped to him with an additional pressure cooker attached and then let Martin Richards' father dial the cellphone.
The way I understand the Public Safety Clause is they can do limited questioning without giving Miranda while they ascertain whether there are other imminent threats.
WC I totally agree with you. This man was not born here. The artificial nationalization, in my opinion, should be a privilege that can be taken away if they become an enemy of the state.
On top of that, any natural born citizen should be treated as an enemy of the state if they commit treason or terrorism.
This country has gone soft. Too bad the old days with the gallows out back behind the courthouse, where enemies of the state were hung, are gone.
Normally, I would accept the updates as an explanation, however, we've got the occupant of the oval office suggesting: “We Can’t Rush To Judgement About These Individuals Or Groups Of People” http://weaselzippers.us/2013/04/19/obama-we-cant-rush-to-judgement-about-these-individuals-or-groups-of-people-gets-name-of-one-of-victims-wrong/
Rudy Giuliani said that not reading of Miranda rights isn't going to adversely affect this guy's trial if he was to be tried in a civilian court since he's already confessed to the bombing and killing of the MIT police officer to that guy him and his brother stole the car from. He says that's perfectly admissible in court.
Anyway, I don't know what else could go wrong with the Miranda stuff but I think the first step needs to be rescinding of his citizenship and all the rights that are afforded him as an American.

I am so glad this is over. Now, let's hope he talks.
Meanwhile, the DOJ is using the public safety clause to omit giving the suspect the Miranda Rights.

Yeah, the U.S. Attorney just explained it to me (and everyone else watching the news conference).
I still like my questioning method better.
Did I mention he should be naked in that rat infested alley and covered with something like honey while waiting for his cellphone to ring?
Yeah, I much prefer your questioning method.
Now is the time to set the precedent for treason with citizen terrorists. It's war !!

It says that it was updated tonight. Don't know what was originally written there.

Yeah I got pissed when I heard him say that.
And then, we also have the Saudi national that we need to get the truth about.
