In California, 1/3rd of Public School Children Are "English Language Learners"

And Governor Jerry Brown says this is because "affluent people" are not producing enough children.

... which is a truly bizarre take, bordering on bigoted and possibly racist, but we'll leave it alone ...

Giving what was dubbed the “California Welcome,” Gov. Jerry Brown told attendees at the 31st Annual National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Conference in June that affluent families seemed to not be “producing” children in the state. 

“I don’t know what the affluent families are doing,” Brown said. “They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.” 

At the conference, held in San Diego, Calif., in late June, Brown said California had addressed the fact that millions of children in the state’s school do not speak English. 

“You have to do more to be able to create that opportunity and that pathway for those families that are not having that same skill of speaking English as others,” Brown said. 

“In California, out of six million students, two million are designated English-language learners, and that means extra money for that school, as well as for low-income families, and that’s about half the students in California,” Brown said. 

“It’s pretty amazing,” Brown said. “I don’t know what the affluent families are doing. “They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families,” Brown said.

I wonder if Jerry Brown is going senile.

Anyway, here's a question for those who believe it's ok to just continue allowing illegal immigrants to flood across the border:

HOW MANY WOULD BE TOO MANY?

I guess we could never have enough, could we?

We should go for half, maybe even 2/3rds of our students being non-American born.

Wouldn't that just be fucking awesome?

It doesn't matter if no one knows what America stands for. The government will continue on the tradition of granting individuals their rights, even if no one knows what those rights are supposed to be ...
