Pope Francis Again Calls For Military Intervention To Stop The Islamic State

(Reuters) – Pope Francis said on Monday the international community would be justified in stopping Islamist militants in Iraq but that it should not be up to a single nation to decide how to act.
“In these cases, where there is an unjust aggression I can only say that it is legitimate to stop the unjust aggressor,” he told reporters on the plane returning from South Korea in response to a question about U.S. air strikes against Islamic State insurgents who have overrun much of the country’s north.
Proclaiming a caliphate straddling parts of Iraq and Syria, the militants have swept across northern Iraq and driven tens of thousands of Christians and members of the Yazidi religious minority from their homes.
The pope suggested he was not giving a automatic green light for bombings or war but that the situation was grave and the international community had to respond together. “I underscore the verb ‘to stop’.
I am not saying ‘bomb’ or ‘make war’, but ‘stop him’. The means by which he can be stopped must be evaluated. Stopping the unjust aggressor is legitimate,” he said
I'm glad the Pope realizes something needs to be done, but I really think that, rather than posing as a man of Peace the Pope should get an army and do it himself.

I'm all for stopping ISIS, but I'm not all for Christians sitting on the sidelines acting like they are men of Peace, while the dirty, rugged men of the world do all the heavy lifting.

Christians need to learn what it's like to get blood on them.

Christ did it. I think we can do it too.

If you want to serve people, you're gonna get people all over you. Sometimes that means you're going to get their blood on you too.

It's just the way life works here in this corrupted world.

Since ISIS has proven to be made up of no one buy rabid murderous psychopaths it would be logical and in the interests of world peace for a force to go into Iraq ans Syria and kill them to the last man. Unlikely as it is, were this to happen I would bet my last penny that HRW, OIC, UN and the rest of the liberal do-gooders would raise hell about "the brutal slaughter of innocent ISIS members". 275

Yes, I think so too.

And this is one reason I think that everyone who makes a half-statement like the Pope made here needs to have skin in the game.
