Islam is represented by Radical Islamist Aggression as much Simon Legree represented the South

"There are few, I believe, in this enlightened age, who will not acknowledge that slavery as an institution is a moral and political evil." Robert E Lee, 1856

"Our duty as Muslim scholars is to respond to those who attack our religion through sound logic and persuasion, which makes any rational person see that Islam gives each person his due and that Islam extends its hand in peace to anyone who extends its hand in peace to Islam." - Sheikh Mohammed Sayyed al Tantawi

Neither of these statements by ‘leadership’ are a ripple in the ocean of their times.

Why this is the inarguable fact tells us all about what the tsunamis of the time were or ARE.
The actions of the Muslims to be taken today around the synagogue in Oslo are important PRECISELY because those brave AND JUST people are so exceptional.

AN EXCEPTION

Nor is it the representation of the ‘news’ in the west which is presenting a distorted view of what is happening in this world.

This week alone has seen 66 executions via beheading and burning alive of captives publicized not by Islam hating media, but by the executioners using public tools to tell the world who they are and why they act.

The FACT is that the ascendant forms of Islam, both Shia and Sunni revolve around those whose actions are taken because they are believed to be their personal responsibilities before god, as given to them in a perfect document, ‘written’ by god, and therefore true and unchangeable in it’s original form for all time.

That this is so comes not from Al Azhar, or Bin Baz through the filter of newspapers, but in the conversation with real people in the Gulf I have had since 2001.

These people have no choice if they are to follow god. Salafi. Shia. Just following god. That’s how they see it.

To us we are seeing slaughter over the arithmetic number of prophets.
It seems ridiculous.

There are those, like President Obama, who wish us to believe these people are wrong and just need a better ‘economy’ and outlet for their grievances. A bigger flat screen? A Kitchen Aid mixer? Healthy flank steak and not 73% ground chuck.

The mocking we have seen over this, and it is manifest, MEANS something.

If I take Obama’s actions as being for our benefit, then I would say he is trying to say whatever he has to, to avoid a needless war with a billion people. But it’s a billion people who are doing NOTHING in their numbers about the wrongs these wrongheaded actors are committing, and who even if they ARE in the extreme minority WILL STILL PROVOKE WAR.

A war which will, sooner or later find a president here who will act will final and decisive means.
When we, here, recognized the segregation of the south for what it was, THE PUBLIC MIND WAS CONSUMED with change. Not just MLK, not just George Wallace, but all our attention was focused on the meaning and execution of JUSTICE.

That the people of the USA got behind real justice resulted in the KKK becoming a joke. A Purim like representation of evil, and it prevented a REAL SOCIETAL LEVEL REVOLT

Oslo’s Muslim stand represents one of the few moments when this can be said today to be against the tide of the time. The mass protests we see instead have been over the evil that personal liberty is, that freedoms represent, that sharia and Islam alone can repair.

Why?

Because the Quran, the perfect and unchangeable truth for all time, says so.

"African slavery, as it exists in the United States, is a moral, a social, and a political blessing." ~ Jefferson Davis

THAT represents the tide of this time and the tide of 1856.

That is how it is, and just as no high minded prattling from Robert E Lee could beat back the institution and societal needs of slavery so no unimaginably unrealistic expression from even the President of the USA can do anything but sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Recognizing objective reality as it is, is the first step to avoiding trouble and surviving
If you are standing on the beach and the water is pulling away from from you for hundreds of yards, the ocean level is not dropping. That line on the horizon?

Great post, Epa.

People give their allegiance to institutions, whether explicitly or implicitly.

And when the evil those institutions do becomes dangerous, murderous, and destructive enough, then the whole mass of people will be caught up in the Tsunami of justice, EXPLICITLY, even if they only gave implicit approval.

It's the way change happens.

Barack Obama is, in this situation, a reactionary. He is trying to hold back the tide of change.

But the change will happen, whether he wants it to happen or not.

Yes, a great post, Epa.

hese people have no choice if they are to follow god. Salafi. Shia. Just following god. That’s how they see it.

And their eyes are on their version of eternity and how to enter therein. I've said from my earliest days of blogging that this enemy is dangerous in the extreme because of that mindset. They are more than willing to die on their hill -- and kill anyone to accomplish their place in eternity.
