“After all those years in Washington, I was naïve”

Former SecDef Robert Gates describing his reaction to the results of Obama promising him there would be no further changes in the defense budget after Gates had cut hundreds of billions.

Gates was then told to cut hundreds of billions of dollars MORE from the defense budget after already having slashed it.

Former Drill Sgt. Unleashes hell against Obama

I have no sympathy for guys like Gates, Powers, etc. They are in positions of power, where they could make a real difference, but only find their voices when they are no longer endangering their pensions. Like Powers, Gates was not in agreement, disappointed? He should have resigned on the spot.

As the Afghan said in the movie the Clintons prevented from airing: "There are no men left in Washington." And I add: like Obama, they are all metro men, although Gates is old enough to know better.
