This is a true story ... I was at Woodstock (my jewish mother FORCED me to take 6 hebrew national salamis with me - THE BIG ONES, and I was embarrassed ..third yr at UVa, I mean c'mon, man, with 3 other friends, and plastic sheeting..prolly to keep the germs of the dirty hippies away..I had hair past my shoulders, and FU Manchu which put Namath to shame).
Naturally food could NOT BE HAD, and it rained (we stayed dry, altho the salamis prob explain my heart attack in 2006).
Sunday morning, they are making announcements between acts..we are about 1/3 of the way up the hillside, and they say "WILL xxxx xxxxxx please come to the stage immediately" and its my name. Everyone looks at me. Wavy Gravy says it again. I am frozen. "IT'S YOUR MOTHER." says the closest friend, "She wants you to come home now"
I go up front and ask "You wanted xxxx xxxxxx?"
"Yeah, where the hell all your amps and equipment?"

It then turns out the mgr for Iron Butterfly has the same name as me.
BTW, the equipment never made it, and neither did they. They couldn't manage the traffic from NYC to get there.
