Democrats Want to Move To Eliminate ICE?

From the Daily Caller:
Left-wing pundits and activists are increasing pressure on Democratic politicians to embrace the fringe position of abolishing ICE.
Once a fringe idea on the far-left, abolishing the nation’s immigration enforcement agency now looks likely to become a campaign issue in the Democrats’ 2020 presidential primary.
Former Hillary Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon came out for abolishing the agency in January. “ICE operates as an unaccountable deportation force,” Fallon argued.
“Dems running in 2020 should campaign on ending the agency in its current form.”
“Should ICE exist?” MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris on Thursday. Harris’s answer — “certainly” ICE should exist — sparked a backlash among some liberals.
Liberal writer Jack Mirkinson on Friday slammed Harris for her answer in an article titled, “Not Good Enough, Kamala Harris.”
“Any serious defender of undocumented people in this country would look at ICE and know that it is a cancer that needs to be excised from the U.S. Pretending that the most diseased levers of state power can be molded into something better is a useless fantasy. ICE must be abolished. Anything less is not good enough,” Mirkinson wrote on Splinter, a left-wing website.

I have a different take on the California sanctuary kerfuffle:

I never expected to live long enough to see a prominent Democrat arguing FROM the 10th amendment. And Jerry Brown did exactly that the other day. Explicitly. The 10-A, aka the "states rights" amendment, is a torpedo aimed directly at the heart of the DC bureaucracy. Long ignored by the courts and blamed for slavery and Jim Crow, the 10-A may be making a comeback. This could be a good thing.

So California wants to incorporate Mexico (or vise versa)? They voted for it, let 'em have it. CO wants to be the utopia of weed? Go for it, see where that gets you.

Just as long as the rest of us don't have to go along with these follies I have no problem. And a little less (or a lot less) DC in my life sounds good to me.

I would be ok with that, too (even though I live in California).

But how are you going to keep all the people they import out of Arizona, and the rest of the nation.

California is already a entry route for people from the ME.

More Muslims?

Do you want that too?

I live in SC where the state government has put a pretty heavy hand on hiring illegal workers. So they go elsewhere. Doesn't solve the problem entirely but it works well enough. Some business won't locate here but they are the ones who only hire illegals anyway. So we won't miss the jobs.

Contrary to Democrat/MSM propaganda the Trump administration is only using the enforcement arm of ICE to crack down on Illegals engaged in criminal activity or law breaking conduct like drunk driving. Who wouldn't want that? But apparently Jerry Brown and company don't feel they need the help. Under 10-A that's up to them and their voters.

At the same time why can't my state tell DC "NO" when they attempt to resettle "refugees" in the state en masse. That would be 10-A in origin as well. So it works both ways.

Is the DNC actually trying to torpedo their election chances in 2018? Have they gone that loony?

Didn't the Trump election prove to them that that the majority of this country DO NOT believe in thair looney Leftist agenda?
