"Now we have the worst of all worlds. Not only is the US despised around the globe, it can't even make its supposed hegemony work.
It's one thing to be seen as the bully in the schoolyard; it's quite another when people realise the bully is actually incapable of getting anybody else to do what he wants. It's unpleasant when people stop respecting you, but it's positively terrifying when they stop fearing you.
... [snip] ...
It is hard for me to recall a time when the world was such a scary place. No one should rejoice at America's weakness. The world is scarier still because of it. "

You got that right, even though it isn't a pleasant thing to ponder.
I think the world has gone too long without a world war.....and America has gone too long without a civil war.
It appears many nations were only pretending to be our ally because they were more worried about Germany or the Soviets than they were about American hegemony.
How can we possibly ever win another foreign war when a large percentage of our populace, the MSM, and many Carter / Clinton appointed judges, are constantly throwing a wrench in our gears.
It don't even appear that West Point is putting out any Generals that know how to win wars, even if we allowed them to.
Our enemies have studied the rules of our society and our military doctrine and are exploiting the flaws designed into them. And we are too proud of ourselves to do anything about it.
It is certainly the scariest global situation I have seen in my lifetime, and I don't see anybody that can correct the problem getting the nomination from either of our political parties.
It kinda leaves me hoping our enemies would hurry up and wipe a few of those bastions of blue voters off our eastern and western seaboards, before its too late for all of us.
I remember the Cuban Missle Crisis. That was scarier, but you're right, the times, they are bad.
