The French Are Beginning To Wake Up

From Augean Stables:

“Nous sommes tétanisés,” said my French friend. [We are paralyzed.]

The French are beginning to wake up, beginning to lift up their Ostrich head from the sand. As opposed to the frequent dismissals I ran across in the past – when it wasn’t accusations of racism – I now met an increasing number of people willing to say, “we don’t disagree” (the French really don’t like to say “you’re right”). But, as my friend put it, we don’t know what to do. “We’re paralyzed.”

I have been visiting France fairly regularly all my life, but particularly since 2000, the nature of those visits has changed, and I’ve watched a radical split occur between the Jewish community in France (which has grown increasingly alarmed at the violence against them) and your typical Frenchman and woman, who consider Jewish alarm – if they even notice it – as, well, alarmist. (For earlier posts on what I noticed, see here.)

I haven’t been in France since last Spring, so a number of factors played in the mixture. Obviously the Fall (Ramadan) 2005 riots that started in the Parisian suburbs and spread through France sobered people considerably, despite the official position of the media, political, and academic elites that this was not a religious or cultural issue, but one of socio-economic inequities that could be solved by addressing those inequities. But more recently, there had occurred two things that sobered them considerably.

First, the Danish cartoons. Most every Frenchman I spoke with (especially the non-Jews, who are in most denial about the religious dimension) mentioned them. Even the French, who do not have much of a sense of humor about other people making fun of them, understood that the Muslim reaction revealed a level of immaturity beyond anything they had, in their cognitively egocentric slumber, ever imagined. It was for them a sobering look at a religious mafia, intimidating anyone who dare criticize it. The cultural gap between the French and an Islam which, they had begun to acknowledge, played an increasingly powerful role among its immigrant population, lay bare before their eyes.

Second, the slow torture of Ilan Halimi, a Jewish youth, kidnapped and tortured to death over a three-week period in one of the “territoires perdus” of the Republic, awoke the French to the depth of barbarity that had grown up under their noses. That Islamic hatred played a role came across unmistakably with the calls to the Jewish parents and the reading of Quranic verses over the sound of their son tortured in the background. But the gang was really more a mostly Muslim collection of immigrant sons from the hood, from the “territoires perdus.”

Indeed the most terrifying part of the tale came when the leader of the gang got arrested in the Ivory Coast (whence his parents had emigrated before his birth). His picture smiling and making the V sign with his fingers shocked people with its utter lack of any sign of conscience, and his subsequent interview confirmed the impression. Indeed the photo was so shocking, that after consulting with three lawyers, AFP took the photo down because it was “a blow at the private life” of the suspect, but “above all, there was no imperious necessity to diffuse this highly provocative photo.”

Ah, if only they had felt that way about Muhammad al Durah, they might have spared themselves much pain. But that would have meant sparing the Jews and the Israelis.

But those with eyes, like Nidra Poller, could see. Youssouf Fofana was not a religious fanatic poisoned by paranoid underground hatreds. Here was Nietzsche’s blond beast in blackface, without conscience, a predator who feels no need to apologize to his prey. Robust sadism. The barbarians at the gates… in the suburbs. And their neighbors, who remained silent for weeks as they heard the cries of the tortured youth – not even an anonymous call – illustrated how powerful the dominion of the killers in these territoires perdus.

March for Free Expression

The march is over, unfortuantely I wasn't able to attend but congrats to all the people who did (click the pics for full size images) :

police make sure they have enough evidence to convict people for resisting dhimmitude

now where have I seen that picture before?

check out the guy on the left. Nice one mate ;)

pictures found through MichaelFuchs.org

the beeb states that up to 600 people turned up which in my eyes was a decent turnout, it could have been better but I think a bit of support was lost in the days running up due to pressure from Muslim organisations to make the organisers request that the Mo pics were not brought (btw, that'd request not demand). This link directs to a group called the "Muslim Action Committee", who claim that they put the pressure on the march organisers to make the request not to bring the Mo pics.

This link directs to the organisation that put the march together.

Liberal Islam speaks out on the Apostasy issue

I have been saying this over and over that no matter what you call it, liberal Islam, moderate Islam or fundamentalist Islam, it is all the same. And I will continue to say this until people start paying attention, as it is essential for the West to understand Islam in its true form.

UAE, a country that is quiet on most of the issues around the world, yesterday spoke out officially about the Afghan apostate, Abdul Rahman. A reputed Dubai scholar, Dr. Ahmad Abdul Aziz Al Haddad issued a statement on behalf of the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Works, a UAE Government department.

The good doctor said:
"This is none of their [the West's] business ... Bush and the West should stay out of personal beliefs. They should not intervene in a purely religious matter of Islamic law [Sharia]… If this penalty is carried out, it will protect many weak-willed people from deserting their religion. If the independence of the judiciary is among the bases of democracy, then it is unjust to interfere in this case. Democracy as practised by the West is fake because it contradicts itself in one of the most important bases.”

Okay, so by killing people, you can frighten the ‘weak-willed’ ones enough to stay in their spiritual and mental prison which is Islam. Fear is to be used so that those who dare to think on their own on even only a semi-regular basis stop doing so. I say that’s one of the beauties of this religion of peace—weak-willed people, you can have Allah do the thinking for you. All you need to do is blow a couple of infidels up from time to time.

Another renowned Islamic scholar here in Dubai, Ahmad Al Qubaisi, had some tactful words on the issue:

"This President bombards thousands of civilians in Iraq. It is not strange that he defies the feelings of a whole nation, which considers a person who deserts Islam an infidel. Bush will immediately declare a man an outlaw if he deserts the US system and spies on America. This is a double standard by the US and the West. This stand is a crusade against the Muslim world."

This is an interesting one. Last time I checked it was roadside bombs placed by jihadists that kill Iraqis, or sectarian clashes between Sunnis and Shiites that slaughter Iraqis, or Moslems who blows themselves up at police recruiting centers that murder Iraqis. Even if President Bush wanted to kill all Iraqis, he wouldn’t need to do much, as the jihadists are doing a mighty fine job there already.

A man ‘who deserts the US system and spies on America’ as the mullah put it is declared an outlaw but a man who goes to, say, Australia and becomes a citizen there is not imprisoned for that. Wrong analogy, Mr. Qubaisi. Even the US Government does not execute Americans that are convicted for spying on the US for other powers, as any number of spy cases in the US can readily prove, like the Pollard case (spied for Israel) or the Walker case (spied for the Soviet Union).

These two sound just like any other mullah, but what’s unique about these mullahs--I mean scholars--in Dubai is that whatever they say must be approved in advance by the UAE government. Only if the government approves are they allowed to say it officially. So these words are essentially speaking on behalf of Sheik Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as Sheik Khalifa, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the President of the UAE. ‘Our allies, peaceful liberal Moslems’… yeah right!!

What does that say about liberal Moslems? How are they different from fundamentalist Moslems? Both want people who don’t agree with them dead. How then can we hope to work with liberal Moslems when we say we can’t do the same with fundamentalist Moslems? This is a matter to ponder over, and one that is crucial for the survival of Western Civilization.

Thank you, ‘liberal Moslems’ for speaking up on this and many other issues. You give me plenty of ammo to prove my point.

Petition for Abdul Rahman

This petition was brought to my attention this morning by one of my kind visitors. I have already signed it. Perhaps YOU, too, would be so kind as to sign it to help this man. He's in terrible distress. This is the least we can do to help him get released.

Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with him at this time.

"Hatred" Translated for Diamanda Galas Program "Defixiones"

Diamanda

This was in a program for a performance of Diamanda Galas' "Defixiones", or "orders from the dead" dedicated to the genocides perpetrated by the Turks against the Christians of Asia Minor. I will be writing more on this subject soon, as I had read about Diamanda's Defixiones before this and am always interested in this subject. This ought to chill the blood, especially when you see the date:

HATRED

As long as the vulgar Greek exists in this world
By Allah, my hatred won't leave me
As long as I see him there like a dog
By Allah, this hatred won't leave me
A thousand heads of infidel Giaours cannot wash away this hatred.

My only aim is revenge
When my turn comes to go to battle
In one day I'll butcher a thousand Giaours
By Allah, this hatred won't leave me
A thousand heads of Giaours cannot wash away this hatred.

Even if I crush thirty thousand of their heads with a stone
Even if I wrench out the teeth of ten thousand
And throw a hundred thousand of their corpses into the river
By Allah, this hatred won't leave me

A thousand heads of Giaours cannot wash away this hatred.
The whole world knows how superior the Turk is
Who crashed the Greek's fucked world over his head
Even if I burn in stokeholes the heads of five thousand of them
By Allah, this hatred won't leave me

A thousand heads of Giaours cannot wash away this hatred
Even if I slash forty thousand of them with my bayonet
And send eighty thousand of them to the devil
And hang a hundred thousand of them
By Allah, this hatred won't leave me

A thousand heads of Giaours cannot wash away this hatred.

The text of HATRED was published by the large circulation Turkish
newspapaer Hurriyet on 18 July 1974, just 48 hours before the
Turkish invasion of Cyprus by order of the Bulent Ecevit
government.

Research: Leonidas Koumakis, Athens

I realized after typing this out that it, as well as much more information is on Diamanda's site at www.diamandagalas.com. Many more horrific quotes have been republished there, as well as her other works. For more on Diamanda's production, please see: http://www.diamandagalas.com/defixiones/defixiones.htm and infinite thanks to Diamanda for bringing more publicity to the genocides perpetrated by the Turks.

Infidel Hunk of the Week

Boy, oh, boy. This is a very nice shot of actor Oded Fehr. Born in Tel Aviv, this Infidel Hunk served in the Israeli Navy and also worked security for Israel's El Al airline before moving to England to train as an actor. The rest is Hollywood history. The nearly nude scenes in Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo were all the proof I needed that he was Infidel Hunk material. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy....

The Atlas Interview: Phyllis Chesler, "Daring Lover of the Truth"

Ex-left wing goddess, one time Muslim bride, anti-cultural relativist, and as Bat Ye'or called her "daring lover of the truth". I was unfamiliar with Phyllis Chesler until I heard her speak at The The Middle East & Academic Integrity on the American Campus Conference At Columbia University over a year ago. Her remarks blew me away and the more she revealed the louder she was heckled by Pro-Palestinian inciters in the room. Inciters, thugs - these fools had their phones play loud music, their walkie talkies go off , but Chesler never flinched, stumbled or faltered. She gave it right back and made sure her story was told. I subsequently have written about her numerous times and strongly recommend you review her extensive body of work. Brave, brilliant, and sagacious, I jumped at the chance to interview her.

in The Death of Feminism : What's Next in the Struggle for Women's Freedom, the level of anti-American and anti-Israeli propaganda and intolerance towards all those who do not kow-tow to it is fairly monumental on many feminist list-serv groups. If one does not believe that America "deserved" 9/11; if one does not view America as the true "terrorist"; if one does not believe that Arabs and Muslims are being persecuted in America for "racist" reasons; and if one does not simultaneously believe that the Jews are "imagining" or "exaggerating" anti-Semitism — then one is not welcome on such list-serv groups. In fact, I was literally "purged," Stalinist-style from one such group for my various pro-America and pro-Israel "Thought Crimes." It was a most instructive experience.

Chesler_atlas_1

[...]"right" and "left" are no longer useful. I write about this at length in The Death of Feminism : What's Next in the Struggle for Women's Freedom. On the other hand, the "Left" is aggressively secular and anti-religious; considers pornography to be "protected" hate speech; considers prostitution and trafficking to be forms of "sex work" which should be de-criminalized or legalized; views paternal sole-custody of children as the feminist solution to the problems that mothers have when they juggle child care and career responsibilities; believes that men and women are actually the "same"; has absolutely no foreign policy except that of opposing whatever President Bush and America do or ever have done — they really might as well be French; and has no universal feminist policy vis-à-vis jihadic Islam and its Muslim victims. The "right" has opposite views on these subjects. Although some "right-wingers" have diverse views on abortion, civil rights for gay people, the role of multi-national corporations in a time of war, the importance of intellectual and ideological diversity; the dangers of appeasing the Islam, etc. there are few "left wingers" who are at all diverse on their issues.

Brave, brilliant, and sagacious, I jumped at the chance to interview her. Share the interview with your peers [hence the Johnny Appleseed reference], get the word out of this woman. I have downloaded the interview in its entirety. Anybody wanna convert it to an MP3 file for me?
Download DW_S0036.wav

Download Chesler_Interview.mp3 Del, my free speech man, you rock!

Mike and PaPundits writes "I've got plenty of bandwidth if you don't, click here. Yup Mighty Mike, mighty man indeed.

Jody sent me this alternative to the above wav file here

It runs a little under an hour, first half focuses on Chesler's background and history (not to be missed), second half addresses how the left destroys this nation, destroyed academia, and enables the Islamofascists to commit the worst acts of barbarism against women (and the West).

Phyllis did BOOK TV for CPAN last night at Barnes and Noble in Madhattan, I will let you know when they broadcast it as soon as CSPAN releases their schedule.

UPDATE: A huge part of my discussion with Phyllis centered on the hijacking of our universities by the Radical left and the Radical Islamists. This bill is critical to addressing, in some small part, this enormous front on the war on terror. Write your government officials NOW House Republicans Fight for Academic Bill of Rights

Opening Other People's Mail

...can be an educational experience, as a recent ABC News article about some of the documents we captured in Iraq reveals.

Let's see what's inside those envelopes, shall we? (All emphases from the article.)

"U.S. War Plan Leaked to Iraqis by Russian Ambassador"
Two Iraqi documents from March 2003 -- on the eve of the U.S.-led invasion -- and addressed to the secretary of Saddam Hussein, describe details of a U.S. plan for war. According to the documents, the plan was disclosed to the Iraqis by the Russian ambassador.

Document written sometime before March 5, 2003

The first document (CMPC-2003-001950) is a handwritten account of a meeting with the Russian ambassador that details his description of the composition, size, location and type of U.S. military forces arrayed in the Gulf and Jordan. The document includes the exact numbers of tanks, armored vehicles, different types of aircraft, missiles, helicopters, aircraft carriers, and other forces, and also includes their exact locations. The ambassador also described the positions of two Special Forces units.

Document dated March 25, 2003

The second document (CMPC-2004-001117) is a typed account, signed by Deputy Foreign Minister Hammam Abdel Khaleq, that states that the Russian ambassador has told the Iraqis that the United States was planning to deploy its force into Iraq from Basra in the South and up the Euphrates, and would avoid entering major cities on the way to Baghdad, which is, in fact what happened. The documents also state "Americans are also planning on taking control of the oil fields in Kirkuk." The information was obtained by the Russians from "sources at U.S. Central Command in Doha, Qatar," according to the document.

This document also includes an account of an amusing incident in which several Iraqi Army officers (presumably seeking further elaboration of the U.S. war plans) contacted the Russian Embassy in Baghdad and stated that the ambassador was their source. Needless to say, this caused great embarrassment to the ambassador, and the officers were instructed "not to mention the ambassador again in that context."

(Editor's Note: The Russian ambassador in March 2003 was Vladimir Teterenko. Teterenko appears in documents released by the Volker Commission, which investigated the Oil for Food scandal, as receiving allocations of 3 million barrels of oil -- worth roughly $1.5 million. )

"Osama bin Laden Contact With Iraq"
A newly released prewar Iraqi document indicates that an official representative of Saddam Hussein's government met with Osama bin Laden in Sudan on February 19, 1995, after receiving approval from Saddam Hussein. Bin Laden asked that Iraq broadcast the lectures of Suleiman al Ouda, a radical Saudi preacher, and suggested "carrying out joint operations against foreign forces" in Saudi Arabia. According to the document, Saddam's presidency was informed of the details of the meeting on March 4, 1995, and Saddam agreed to dedicate a program for them on the radio. The document states that further "development of the relationship and cooperation between the two parties to be left according to what's open [in the future] based on dialogue and agreement on other ways of cooperation." The Sudanese were informed about the agreement to dedicate the program on the radio.

The report then states that "Saudi opposition figure" bin Laden had to leave Sudan in July 1996 after it was accused of harboring terrorists. It says information indicated he was in Afghanistan. "The relationship with him is still through the Sudanese. We're currently working on activating this relationship through a new channel in light of his current location," it states.

(Editor's Note: This document is handwritten and has no official seal. Although contacts between bin Laden and the Iraqis have been reported in the 9/11 Commission report and elsewhere (e.g., the 9/11 report states "Bin Ladn himself met with a senior Iraqi intelligence officer in Khartoum in late 1994 or early 1995) this document indicates the contacts were approved personally by Saddam Hussein.

It also indicates the discussions were substantive, in particular that bin Laden was proposing an operational relationship, and that the Iraqis were, at a minimum, interested in exploring a potential relationship and prepared to show good faith by broadcasting the speeches of al Ouda, the radical cleric who was also a bin Laden mentor.

The document does not establish that the two parties did in fact enter into an operational relationship. Given that the document claims bin Laden was proposing to the Iraqis that they conduct "joint operations against foreign forces" in Saudi Arabia, it is worth noting that eight months after the meeting -- on November 13, 1995 -- terrorists attacked Saudi National Guard Headquarters in Riyadh, killing 5 U.S. military advisers. The militants later confessed on Saudi TV to having been trained by Osama bin Laden.)

"Hiding Docs from the U.N. Team"
Document dated March 23, 1997

A letter from the Iraqi intelligence service to directors and managers advising them to follow certain procedures in case of a search by the U.N. team, including:

*Removing correspondence with the atomic energy and military industry departments concerning the prohibited weapons (proposals, research, studies, catalogs, etc.)
*Removing prohibited materials and equipment, including documents and catalogs and making sure to clear labs and storages of any traces of chemical or biological materials that were previously used or stored
*Doing so through a committee which will decide whether to destroy the documents
*Removing files from computers.

The letter also advises them on how they should answer questions by U.N. team members. It says the intelligence service should be informed within one week about the progress made in discarding the documents.

(Editor's Note: This document is consistent with the Report of the Special Adviser to the Director of Central Intelligence, which described a pattern of deception and concealment on the part of Saddam Hussein's government toward the U.N. inspectors in the mid to late 1990s. Hussein halted all cooperation with those inspectors and expelled them in October 1998.)

"Throwing The Jews Under The Bus"

That's the title of a must-read article at Tech Central Station by Arnold Kling; written in anticipation of the '08 elections. (All emphases are mine.)

I wish I could be confident that both parties will nominate candidates with a serious outlook on the war against militant Islam. As I see it, there is still a large segment of the Democratic Party that wants a crusading anti-war candidate, in the mold of George McGovern. That wing of the Democratic Party does not look very attractive to those of us who have voted Democratic in recent Presidential elections but who believe that militant Islam poses an existential threat to the values we hold dear.

For what the anti-war view entails, consider a recent "academic" paper by John J. Mearshimer and Steven M. Walt, of the University of Chicago and Harvard University, respectively.
"The U.S. national interest should be the primary object of American foreign policy. For the past several decades, however, and especially since the Six Day War in 1967, the centerpiece of US Middle East policy has been its relationship with Israel. The combination of unwavering US support for Israel and the related effort to spread democracy throughout the region has inflamed Arab and Islamic opinion and jeopardized US security."
This is where I believe the leftist view of foreign policy ultimately leads: throw the Jews under the bus to appease the Islamic radicals, because the Jews have "jeopardized U.S. security." To which I say, fine: go ahead and try to throw us under the bus. It won't be the first time the elites decided that anti-Semitism is the fault of the Jews -- that was the conventional wisdom among the elite opinion in the 1930's, also. But I would warn you that this time a lot of us are going to fight before we get thrown under the bus again. (Dave Kopel reminds us that there were fighters in the 1930's.)
I see myself as an American, first and foremost. I value America for its folk beliefs in liberty. Militant Islam is the enemy of everything that I value about America.

True, it is a fact that militant Islam threatens Europe more than it threatens America. And it is a fact that militant Islam threatens Israel more than Europe. But those facts do not imply that the destruction of Israel or the conquest of Europe by militant Islam would serve the U.S. national interest. Those facts do not imply that for America a passive, defensive approach to militant Islam will be less costly in terms of American lives than an aggressive, offensive approach.
When you throw someone in front of a bus, you have to practically be in front of the bus to do so.

And a body won't stop a bus. So that means you're next. If you don't get flattened while doing the deed, you will on the next pass.

Operation "First Responder" Could Use Our Help - Pass It Around!

"Operation First Responder" Needs Your Help!

Folks,Many of you already know about the extraordinary symposium to be held by America's Truth Forum on 29 April 2006.

FrontPageMagazine has published the story of just how difficult the combined forces of PC and Islam have made it to pull off something like this - you know, the TRUTH!They have been using the usual tactics, especially fear and intimidation. Potential symposium sites have pulled out, and even the biggest corporations have been scared off of supporting this amazing conference.

If the Big Boys are too afraid to help out, who's left?WE ARE! The Grass Roots Club! As usual, if you want a job done right, do it yourself. Borders, ports, and now, meetings and the freedom to tell the truth.

This is just me - no one has asked me to go begging, but this meeting is so important for all of us that I am proud to beg: PLEASE DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN TO HELP. It might be too scary for Boeing, General Dynamics, Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Dupont, and so on (see list below), but if we all pull together, it isn't too scary for Tom, Dick, Harry, Jane, Sally, and Mary. Please send whatever you can to support this magnificent and daring effort. What an investment! The long-term benefits are incalcuably great!

Here is the full report from FrontPageMagazine:

DENYING THE TERRORIST REALITY
By Joe Kaufman FrontPageMagazine.com March 21, 2006

America's Truth Forum's symposium, The Underlying Roots of Terrorism: Terrorism's Threat to World Peace and National Security, is set to take place April 29th. Speaking at the event will be some of the biggest names in the counter-terrorism field. While those involved in the symposium understand the reality of the terrorism threat, there are many that have, whether out of fear or ignorance, chosen to ignore it.

The event was originally scheduled to be held in Connecticut on September 21st of 2005, but it was sidetracked by CBS/Infinity Radio, who at the last minute, refused to air paid advertisements from America's Truth Forum (ATF). "Too many people might be emotionally affected by the subject matter. It's too controversial to be aired at this time," was their response. This being the case, Jeffrey Epstein, the group's President, decided to move the symposium, both time and location.

The new venue didn't come without its own snags. On November 4, 2005, Epstein flew into D.C. to sign a contract with the GeorgetownMarriottConferenceCenter. But during negotiations with the hotel, Epstein was abruptly ushered out of the Marriott's office. Two weeks later, Marriott Corporate Headquarters issued the following statement: "Due to the high density of Muslim students on the Georgetown campus, members of the staff at Marriott Georgetown were afraid of the potential for violent protests, injured hotel employees and property damage. This is the official stance of the Marriott Corporation.

"Today, a new venue in the Greater Washington, D.C. area has been secured, so far without a hitch. But just as things seemed to be going smoothly, a new problem arose - finding sponsorships for the affair. The war on terror has affected so many different areas of our everyday lives. Many industries have had to change the way they run, especially with regard to security. With this in mind, who better to solicit sponsorships from than those that have had to deal firsthand with the extremist threat?

Epstein worked the phones, calling every entity he figured would be interested in such an important event as his organization was planning. But when one takes a glance at the list of those corporations that have declined to get involved, one is faced with a terrible foreboding for our future. The following companies, according to Epstein, were contacted for support and showed no interest. Stock answers included "lack of funds" or "terrorism isn't high on their list of priorities," while others chose not to respond at all.

ATK - not involved in war on terror. makes ammo for military and law enforcement.
Boeing - no interest. then refused to purchase seats for first responders due to budgetary considerations.
BAE systems - not interested.
General Dynamics - left messages. no interest.
Halliburton - unable to fund our request at this time.
Maersk Line - no formal reply.
Northrop Grumman - no interest.
Lockheed Martin - no money.
Raytheon - already budgeted out - most likely no funds.
Dupont - declined, because they can't favor every request; subsequent requests for purchase of a couple of seats for law enforcement agents went ignored.
Motorola - no response.DRS technologies - won't fit with their overall plans.
Zodiac - no funds.wished us well.
Honeywell - no outside solicitation accepted.not interested in program.
L3 Communications - no response.
Rolls-Royce North America - no response.
United Technologies - can't support due to budget limitations.
Pepsi-Cola Military Sales - can only afford to support a small number of worthwhile projects.
Voight Aircraft Industries, Inc . - no interest.
Red Lobster - our request doesn't fit into their brand's strategy.
Anheuser Busch Companies - directed me to local distributors. no response.
Coors - no interest or funds.
American Airlines - no money.
Southeast Airlines - no response.
Wynn Las Vegas - Mrs. Wynn had no interest.
Wal-Mart - no response.
National Beer Wholesaler's Association - no response.
Airline Pilot's Association - no response.
International Association of Firefighters - no response.
Outback Steakhouse - no response.
Wendy's Restaurants - no response.
Yum Brands - no response.
Brinker International - no response.
National Truckers Association (NTA) - no response.
Chevrolet Corporate Relations - no interest.
Insurance carriers that underwrote 9/11 losses:
QBE - won't support.
Chubb Insurance - no response.
American Reinsurance - no response.
Zurich American - no response.
One Beacon Insurance - no response.
Crum & Forster - no response.
Oil companies contacted:
Sunoco - no response.
BP P.L.C. - terrorism isn't of concern.
Bresnan Communications - no response.
Kantor Fitzgerald (securities company that lost employee in trade center) - no interest.
Hotels that suffered recent bombings:
-Radisson Hotel - no response.
-Grand Hyatt - no response.
-Days Inn - no response.

The list is overwhelming to say the least. It would be comical, if the subject being discussed were not so serious! To work around this unfortunate response from those that should, but are not, concerned, America's Truth Forum has had to get creative. One of the ways the group did this was by implementing a new initiative titled, 'Operation First Responder.'According to Epstein: "'OPERATION FIRST RESPONDER' effectively bridges the gap between concerned citizens that share ATF's concern for future generations, but can't attend due to a variety of reasons, and those law enforcement agencies that lack the financial wherewithal to be adequately represented at the forum.

We are simply providing folks with a viable alternative - the opportunity to purchase seats on behalf of first responders and law enforcement agents, who would greatly benefit from being in attendance. After all, experts like Dr. Harvey Kushner and Dr. Bruce Tefft have dedicated their careers to training thousands of law enforcement agents worldwide. The information they intend to share might eventually prove to be life-saving."Epstein continued: "We are fighting for the very survival of Western society. Yet, American corporations refuse to support educational initiatives designed to assist those on the front lines.

In consideration of the 3000 victims who perished on 9/11, it's not acceptable for these corporations to not step up to the plate and, in the very least, purchase a few seats for law enforcement agents and first responders - people that have shown great interest in the symposium and would benefit from being in attendance. Once again, the burden falls on our citizenry."

If you would like to attend this event, or if you want to take part in 'OPERATION FIRST RESPONDER,' go to www.americastruthforum.com to register for the April 29, 2006 symposium, 'The Underlying Roots of Terrorism: Terrorism's Threat to World Peace and National Security.'The terrorism threat is real. If we continue to turn our backs on those that are fighting the war, then how will we ever win?

Infidel Babe Of The Week

Kristin Kreuk, from Smallville.

Looking at the death-cult from the inside out

People who follow Pedestrian Infidel (PI) regularly know about me. I have been commenting on this blog for a while too. But for those who don’t know, I am a recovering Moslem living with my devoutly Moslem family. Everyone can read the Koran, the Hadiths and the history that has been written down but very few from the outside of the circle of Islam know what actually goes on inside the confines of the death-cult. To expose that is one of my major reasons for blogging.

A while back I posted my testimony, in six parts, over at PI. You can read it by following the links below to learn more about me.

Stupidity continues -U.S. Hiring Hong Kong Co. to Scan Nukes

WASHINGTON (AP) - In the aftermath of the Dubai ports dispute, the Bush administration is hiring a Hong Kong conglomerate to help detect nuclear materials inside cargo passing through the Bahamas to the United States and elsewhere.joe-horses_ass03_copy.jpg

The administration acknowledges the no-bid contract with Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. represents the first time a foreign company will be involved in running a sophisticated U.S. radiation detector at an overseas port without American customs agents present.

Freeport in the Bahamas is 65 miles from the U.S. coast, where cargo would be likely to be inspected again. The contract is currently being finalized.

Oh and by the way, in case we have forgotten...

Athletes In Burqas - Wildly Appropriate

Nike - Just Do It:

Some Muslims believe girls should wear a jilbab - a traditional Islamic dress - which hampers agility.

Sports wear company Nike worked with the girls to find something appropriate and presented the designs last year.

Initially camp leaders renounced the outfits, but the girls have now convinced them of their suitability.

The UN refugee agency's Olivier Delarue, who saw one of the first volleyball matches, said the girls had a choice of outfits and went for the most traditional.

As I said before...they think it's the "Great Game", a strategic error of immense importance

An error which, before this is all over is going to get a lot of people killed
The Great Game of muilticenter political force will result in NUCLEAR WARFARE, probably not with Russia, but will result via galatically stupid miscalculations in nuclear weapons being used by the USA against others as a result of being attacked here. They STILL don't know who we are.

"U.S. War Plan Leaked to Iraqis by Russian Ambassador"Vladimir_Putin__3.jpg

Documents dated March 5-8, 2003

Two Iraqi documents dated in March 2003 — on the eve of the U.S.-led invasion — and addressed to the secretary of Saddam Hussein, describe details of a U.S. plan for war. According to the documents, the plan was disclosed to the Iraqis by the Russian ambassador.saddam.jpg

What POSSIBLE strategic reason exists for the Russian govt to do this on the eve of war?

Is the story about the Spetsnaz showing up to remove and obliterate all evidence of WMD true?
Is Putin under the impression that Beslan and Sheeshan (Chechnya) are local problems to be handled by them?
Or is this the govt of the submarine Kursk, which makes us look like beacons of great govt?

Islamic Martyrs Vs. Christian Martyrs

From Gates of Vienna:

An Islamic martyr – a shahid – is a follower of the prophet who dies fighting for Allah during jihad, and his goal is to enter Paradise while killing as many of the enemy as possible. In recent years martyrdom has increasingly been associated with the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent infidel (or apostate) civilians, even children. But Christian martyrs are somewhat different.

In the Christian tradition, a martyr faces death rather than renounce his faith, and dies without violent resistance, with his eyes turned towards God. To target anyone else during martyrdom, especially the innocent, would be specifically un-Christian.

Moderate Muslim Watch

Well, we've been looking for the appearence of the rare and coveted Moderate Muslim, and it seems ABC News has found one for us. And he's speaking out on the Afghani Apostate who is being threatened with death:

“Rejecting Islam is insulting God. We will not allow God to be humiliated. This man must die,” said cleric Abdul Raoulf, who is considered a moderate and was jailed three times for opposing the Taliban before the hard-line regime was ousted in 2001.

Well, it's good to know that the Moderates are finally sticking their head out in the sun and looking around. Spring should soon be here.

New Documents Reveal Ties Between Bin Laden And Hussein Regime

As these documents are translated over the next few weeks, it will be fun to watch the Left do their dazzling dance of denial.

Check this out, from ABC News (you will enjoy ABC's analysis):

Given that the document claims bin Laden was proposing to the Iraqis that they conduct "joint operations against foreign forces" in Saudi Arabia, it is worth noting that eight months after the meeting — on November 13, 1995 — terrorists attacked Saudi National Guard Headquarters in Riyadh, killing 5 U.S. military advisers. The militants later confessed on Saudi TV to having been trained by Osama bin Laden.)

"Osama bin Laden and the Taliban"
Document dated Sept. 15, 2001

An Iraqi intelligence service document saying that their Afghan informant, who's only identified by a number, told them that the Afghan consul Ahmed Dahastani claimed the following in front of him:
  • That OBL and the Taliban are in contact with Iraq and that a group of Taliban and bin Laden group members visited Iraq
  • That the U.S. has proof the Iraqi government and "bin Laden's group" agreed to cooperate to attack targets inside America.
  • That in case the Taliban and bin Laden's group turn out to be involved in "these destructive operations," the U.S. may strike Iraq and Afghanistan.
  • That the Afghan consul heard about the issue of Iraq's relationship with "bin Laden's group" while he was in Iran.

At the end, the writer recommends informing "the committee of intentions" about the above-mentioned items. The signature on the document is unclear.

(Editor's Note: The controversial claim that Osama bin Laden was cooperating with Saddam Hussein is an ongoing matter of intense debate. While the assertions contained in this document clearly support the claim, the sourcing is questionable — i.e., an unnamed Afghan "informant" reporting on a conversation with another Afghan "consul." The date of the document — four days after 9/11 — is worth noting but without further corroboration, this document is of limited evidentiary value.)

Keep telling yourself that.

Kevin Drum, one of the Left's most intelligent bloggers, says:

SADDAM AND OSAMA YET AGAIN....Marc Lynch is still plowing his way through the Iraqi document dump, and today he examines a memo that was written in 1997 shortly after Osama bin Laden had moved from Sudan to Afghanistan. Among other things, it says, "Currently we are working to invigorate this relationship through a new channel in light of his present location."

I've got a slightly different question: who cares?

Oh, come on, Kevin. Don't tell yourself you don't care. Don't you know that it's the fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder?

It's ok. Tears are good. They're cleansing. Now, take a deep breath and say it with me, "I do care. It's ok for me to be vulnerable. Vulnerability is the first step to emotional intelligence."

Bin Laden's Former "Mufti" Musa Al-Qarni Talks about the Jihad in Afghanistan and Says Most Mujahideen in Iraq Are Saudis

This Cleric talks about Jihad, fighting alongside Bin-Laden and how the Saudis are the most enthusiastic of all Muslims to carry out the Islamic "holy" war against the non-believers. This is must watch video :

[click the picture for the video]
Extract from transcript :

Following are excerpts from an interview by Saudi cleric Musa Al-Qarni, the former Mufti of Bin Laden. The interview aired on Dubai TV, on March 18, 2006.

Musa Al-Qarni: The concept of Jihad is a matter of faith and Islamic religious law, which lives in the mind of every Muslim on the face of this earth. The religious education we receive through our schools, through our religious jurisprudence, our thinking, and our tradition - Jihad is part of this.

[...]

When we used to read the books about the laws of Jihad, the laws about raids, and the laws about prisoners - at a time when the nation was not in a state of Jihad, but in a state of feebleness, apathy, and subordination - we used to think that reading the books on Jihad was a kind of entertainment, and that Jihad was a thing of the past. We used to study the laws of Jihad as if it were an issue of history, not of reality.

[...]

Interviewer: There was incitement from the pulpits and in the universities in Saudi Arabia.

Musa Al-Qarni: Of course. At that time...

Interviewer: You reached Afghanistan during that period. The young men you met back then - how old were the people who went to join the the Afghan mujahideen?

Musa Al-Qarni: Most of them were between 15 and 25 years old.

[...]

At no point in his life was Osama an ordinary man. That is something we must acknowledge.

[...]

He came from one of the richest families throughout the Gulf countries, a family known for its ties with the political regime here in Saudi Arabia, because of its construction projects and so on. In addition, he took with him [to Afghanistan] financial support. He brought his own money and the money of his family, and he also used his social influence here, as a preacher for Jihad for the sake of Allah, to collect contributions. In addition, he had exceptional ties with the decision-makers, and with society as a whole here.

Interviewer: I am asking about Afghanistan.

Musa Al-Qarni: He was prominent there.

[...]

Here in Saudi Arabia, the young men who were about to go to Afghanistan, would undergo mental and psychological preparation. They would be included in a group of people who would go together.

Let me give you an example. Now that Jihad has become a "crime", some people may be surprised by what I am about to say: At the Jedda airport there was a group of mujahideen whose job was to welcome those who arrived on their way to Pakistan. There were also offices in Jedda that would buy discount tickets for the people going to Afghanistan.

[...]

His ambition to wage Jihad preceded the war in Afghanistan. I have mentioned this in the past. Even as a young man Osama bin Laden had the ambition to wage Jihad. I have mentioned in several interviews, and it is a well known fact that when there were problems in Syria between the Syrian regime and the Muslim Brotherhood - and this was known throughout the world - Osama thought of going to Syria to join the Jihad of the Muslims there. The spirit of Jihad was deep in the soul of Osama bin Laden.

[...]

Interviewer: You used to be his mufti, his advisor on Islamic law?

Musa Al-Qarni: Perhaps he considered me something of the sort, but I...

Interviewer: Did the others also view you this way?

Musa Al-Qarni: Look, brother Daud, I am not looking for titles for myself. But let me tell you, my relations with Osama... He would definitely consult with me on matters of Islamic religious rulings.

[...]

Interviewer: You didn't participate in the battles of Jihad?

Musa Al-Qarni: Of course I did.

Interviewer: Did you fight?

Musa Al-Qarni: I participated in several battles. I fought together with Sheik Abdallah 'Azzam and with Osama bin Laden...

Interviewer: Did Osama bin Laden play any military role? or was his role primarily one of funding, guidance, and command?

Musa Al-Qarni: In the early stages of Jihad, Osama bin Laden's role was one of funding and mobilization. But once camps were set up especially for Arabs, Osama's role became more direct, and he personally took part in battles. He drew up the military plans, and appoint the commanders. He was the military supervisor over all of the camps. You might say, even if it wasn't that explicit, that he was the military commander of the Arab mujahideen in Afghanistan.

[...]

Interviewer: Why did Osama bin Laden choose 15 out of the 19 from Saudi Arabia?

[...]

Musa Al-Qarni: I do not mean to belittle other nations, but let me tell you, our experience of the Jihad in Afghanistan has shown that the Saudi youth are exceptional in terms of their sacrifice and their courage. They are exceptional in their love of Jihad, and in their desire to reach the world to come, to reach Paradise. They do not hesitate.

[...]

The Saudi youth are exceptional in their willingness to sacrifice. They long for Jihad. Look at Iraq now - who are most of the young men there? Are they not Saudis? Despite the difficulties and obstacles, the Saudi youth do not listen to any authority or to any call [to refrain from] Jihad for the sake of Allah.

Look at Bosnia-Herzegovina - the Saudi youth were most of those who were martyred there, weren't they?

Islamofascists Just Keep Digging Themselves A Deeper Grave

Everyday, in every way, they just keep getting stupider and stupider:

Imam Ahmed Akkari has issued death threats against Naser Khader of the Social Liberals.

Naser Khader founded the organisation “Democratic Moslems” in February, as an organisation for moderate, Democracy-minded Moslems to join. See this article for biography and background on the enmity between Naser Khader and the Imams in Denmark.

Today Jyllands-Posten reports that Imam Ahmed Akkari was recorded on a hidden camera by journalist Mohamed Sifaoui of the French TV-Station France 2 which will show a documentary tonight detailing the doings of the Danish Imams. The documentary also reveals that the Danish Imams have been using the affair as a lever to go against their political opponents in Denmark.

Ahmed Akkari is quoted as saying:

If [Naser Khader] becomes the Minister of Foreigners or Integration, why don’t we send out two guys to blow up him and his ministry? The Danish reaction to this has been consternation and revulsion.

Peter Skaarup of the Danish People’s Party:

It’s pure threats and it only goes to show how crazy these Imams have been acting. I will at once ask the Minister what punishment can be given for making such statements and whether it is a punishable offense.Jens Rohde of the Liberals:

This is certainly very disturbing and it shows what we’re up against. That’s also why I am worried about what is happening at that conference in Bahrain which Ahmed Akkari is a delegate to.

Ahmed Akkari denies:

I’ve never said anything like that about Naser Khader, but they are welcome to try and prove it.

Deny deny deny. No one believe it anymore, Ahmed.

7/7 bombings.
Brimingham riots.
Paris riots.
Sydney riots.
Egyptian riots.
Beheading little Christian girls in Malaysia.
Beslan
9/11
Cartoon Riots.

The world is on to your game. There is no denying it anymore.

At this point, a denial itself is just another shovelful of dirt tossed out of your future resting place.

Bye bye.

I haven't heard anything from Ahmadinejad for a few days. This could be because I haven't been paying close enough attention, or the media has moved on to other things, or ...

I don't know.

But good ole' Mahmoud had been a reliable insane-quote-of-the-day provider for quite awhile previous to about a week ago.

Open Letter To Reformist Muslims

I wrote something.

It's on my blog.

Check it out.

Unlike some of my fellow believers I don't think that the recent glut of Westerners calling for the reformation of Islam is due solely to an imperial Western ambition. I believe that much of non-Muslim engagement with Islam is premised upon a well-intentioned impulse. I believe that some Western antipathy towards Islam (when it is radical and debilitating) is due to decency. It is quite plausible that a generation that faced off against two totalitarianisms might be right about a third. It is also plausible that for every Westerner who calls for the destruction of Islam in order to defend the Western status-quo, there is another Westerner who agitates for change in Islam because has a Muslim friend who has been hurt by what passes for Islam, or has a glimpse (in Hafiz, perhaps in Ibn Rushd), of what Islam could be; and as such, is upset by what Islam today is not. I believe that there are many in the West capable of recognizing beauty -- and they have recognized the beauty that Islam was in the hands of Rumi, and also have recognized the potential of that beauty in Islam today, in Muslims today. This is another way of saying that I believe there are many in the West who are driven by the humanity of the Muslim, who faces daily in Iraq, in Punjab, in subversive mosques in Europe, the inhumanity of a utilitarian death theology.
The rest is on my blog.

Al Jazeera Is Reporting Better Than The Western Media

Yesterday, CAIR came out stronger than Bush against the Afghani apostasy prosecution and today this positive article from Al Jazeera:

Iraqi marriages defy civil war spectre
By Ahmed Janabi
Thursday 23 March 2006, 11:06 Makka Time, 8:06 GMT

Despite widespread speculation at home and abroad that Iraq is on the verge of civil war, couples from different backgrounds have been defying the theory by marriage.

Young men and women – as was the case before the US-led invasion three years ago - from different ethnic, religious and sectarian backgrounds still flock to the civil courts every morning for marriage contracts.

Sahira Abd al-Karim, a civil lawyer in Baghdad, confirmed to Aljazeera.net that Iraqis from different backgrounds are still marrying each other.

"Sectarianism is something shameful among Iraqis, especially the middle class," she said. "As a lawyer in the civil courts in Baghdad I have seen Sunni marrying Shia, Arab marrying a Kurd.

The weaknesses of the West's belief in it's own defining principle are brought out by the stark contrast between the reality our enemies readily acknowledge and the dark fantasies, and weak proclamations of our own leaders.

We ought to be ashamed of ourselves that we don't know well enough who we are, and our enemies are more able to acknowledge reality than we are.

It's time to ignore the UN - OFFICIALLY

China repeats it in accord with Russia on Iran BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Thursday, a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin left Beijing, that Beijing and Moscow are in accord on Iran's nuclear standoff with the West.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday criticized a draft U.N. Security Council statement aimed at pressuring Iran to stop enriching uranium, despite a new offer of amendments by Western powers.

The next step is likely to be bilateral contacts among ministers of the council's five veto-wielding permanent members, the United States, France, Britain, China and Russia, diplomats close to the talks said.

A spokesman for China's Foreign Ministry, Qin Gang, said President Hu Jintao and Putin discussed Iran during Putin's two-day visit.

"China and Russia exchanged views and both sides agreed the Iran nuclear issue should be resolved through diplomatic means," Qin told reporters.

You mean the diplomatic means you are blocking?
Were I the president, I'd at least recall the ambassadors to these nations. Then reassign them. We are talking about our people's safety. PHYSICAL SAFETY.

Bu there's more.

Danish Imam threatens Danish MP

From Jyllands-Posten:

The danish imams are defending their prophet Muhammed through an aggressive campaign against Demokratiske Muslimer and critics of the press, in particular the morning paper Jyllands-Posten.

This is revealed in a documental from Denmark made by the french TV-station France 2, who has employed hidden cameras to unveil the truth. The documental is to be broadcasted today.

In a central segment of this documental it is shown how imam Ahmed Akkari (photo, left) indirectly threatens the leader of Demokratiske Muslimer Naser Khader(photo, right). It is proposed that he ought to be killed if he joins the government.

If he becomes Foreign or Immigration Minister, one should send a couple of guys to blow up both him and the ministry“, says the spokesman for the imams who travelled to the Middle East.

3 Hostages Freed by British, US & Iraqi Forces

Norman Kember looks a bit like the original Uncle Albert in Only Fools & Horses
One British and two Canadian peace activists held hostage in Iraq have been freed in an operation by multinational forces.

Norman Kember, 74, of Pinner, north-west London, James Loney and Harmeet Singh Sooden, were three of four men seized in Baghdad in November.

Mr Kember is said to be in a "reasonable condition" while the two Canadians were taken to hospital.

The body of murdered US citizen Tom Fox was found in Baghdad two weeks ago.

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said he had spoken to Mr Kember's wife Pat and that she was "absolutely delighted, elated with this news".

Prime Minister Tony Blair said he was delighted by the news, and particularly pleased for the freed men and their families.

He also congratulated everyone involved in the rescue operation. Mr Straw said British forces had taken part.

The Dawning of a New Dark Age

On good advice from a learned colleague, I have been informed of a book titled "The Dawning of a New Dark Age: A Collection of Essays on Islam" which looks like a must read for all infidels out there, informed, uninformed, or those who think they are informed of the threat posed by Islam. The following is an extract from the Foreword editorial review:

For most Westerners Islam is thought to be just another world religion, equal to Christianity and Judaism. But is this really the case? Upon closer study, Islam seems to be far different from the other two religions. Certainly no one would accuse Muslims of being tolerant, non-judgmental, non-violent or peace-loving! While Muslims have been allowed to build hundreds of mosques in Western countries, Christian churches may only rarely be built, if ever, in Muslim countries! Indeed in some Muslim countries such as the Sudan, it is official government policy to demolish churches! In addition, it is difficult to believe that any world religion would advocate treating women as second-class citizens, and actually get away with it!

The concept of brotherhood in Islam is strong. The posture advocated by Prophet Mohammed in the Koran toward non-Muslims, however, is to seek them out and annihilate them. The phenomenon of suicide bombers is at once both pathetic and chilling. On the one hand, it is pathetic that young Muslims are taught that they can gain entrance into paradise by taking people’s lives in such a gruesome manner. Carnal pleasures, of course, await the males upon entrance into heaven! On the other hand, it is chilling to think that there are any people living in the 21st century ready to teach and encourage such savagery. What is the supposed theological justification for holding to such beliefs? Indeed, is there any such thing in Islam as theology in which the tenets of the faith are examined critically? Isn’t it the case, rather, that the teachings of Prophet Mohammed are accepted literally, and without question?

In his book, The Dawning of a New Dark Age, Mark Alexander explores these questions, and often finds disturbing answers. Unlike many authors on the subject, Mark actually lived and worked among Muslims for many years; so he has first-hand knowledge of the religion and culture. While on his tours of duty in the Middle East, Mark immersed himself in Islam and Arabic culture, studying the religion both from Occidental and Oriental perspectives. He familiarized himself not only with the Koran, but also with the beliefs and attitudes of Muslims in the street. This experience has given him unusually clear insights into the aspirations of the Muslim world. Mark’s conclusions will not be comforting to those who would like to believe that the long-term threat to the West is limited to the aspirations of a few fundamentalist terrorists.

When It Comes To "Apostasy" In Afghanistan - CAIR Is More Pro-Human Rights Than George Bush

Here's CAIR's statement regarding Abdul Rahman, the Afghani man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity:

CAIR CALLS FOR RELEASE OF AFGHAN CHRISTIANIslamic civil rights group says conversion a personal, not state matter

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/22/2006) - A prominent national Islamic civilrights and advocacy group today called on the government of Afghanistanto release Abdul Rahman, a man facing the death penalty for convertingfrom Islam to Christianity.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) saysthe man's conversion is a personal matter not subject to theintervention of the state.

Now, here's George Bush's statement regarding Abdul Rahman:

I'm troubled when I hear, deeply troubled when I hear, the fact that a person who has converted away from Islam may be held to account. That's not the universal application of the values that I talked about. I look forward to working with the government of that country to make sure that people are protected in their capacity to worship.

And, of course, here is what the White House spokesman Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs R. Nicholas Burns said yesterday:

"This case is not in the competence of the United States government. It's under the competence of the Afghan authorities."

At this point Bush is closer to the position of the Islamofascist terrorists than CAIR.

Apostasy in Islam - Ridda

Classical orthodox Islam regards leaving Islam, apostasy (ridda) with great seriousness. According to the Quran for whom leaves Islam the only punishment to be expected for the apostate (murtadd) is by God at doomsday. The Hadith - traditions relating to the sayings and doings of the Islamic prophet Mohammed - proscribes a more serious earthly punishment for apostates. According to current interpretations (all classical versions of Sharia "juridical" practices) there is punishment of death for men and lifelong incarceration for women found guilty of apostasy. There is however a possibility to avoid punishment by returning to Islam. Modern liberal interpreters of Islam look at the statements in the Quran, that claim there can be no religion by force (Sura 2,257) and thus reject the punishment for apostasy. Read more here.

By law most Muslim countries do not punish apostasy by death, but it is still carried out in Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, to name a few. In the other countries, civilians can and sometimes do take Islamic law into their own hands and kill the apostate and get little to no punishment for it.

What is worrisome is that most Muslim leaders in the West do not distance themselves to the classical punishment of apostasy. In doing so they foster an environment of religious intolerance and confrontation. What is beyond comprehension is that most Western political leaders do not dare to criticize the practice of punishment for apostasy. And when some few do dare - it is always in light and careful terms.

Here are some examples of recent cases (hat tip to Angantyr, blog in Danish):
Doctors in a Cairo mental hospital are holding an Egyptian Christian against his will, telling the man he'll be a permanent resident there until he recants his faith and returns to Islam, reports a leading monitor of Christian persecution.

Worldnet Daily

Zakho (AsiaNews/MEC) – A Christian convert from Islam was killed for his faith. Ziwar Muhammad Isma’il, who worked as a taxi driver in Zakho in the autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq, was shot dead by Abd al-Karim Abd al-Salam at a taxi station early on the morning of February 17.

Abd al-Salam approached Ziwar and told him to return to Islam. When Ziwar refused he opened fire with an automatic rifle.

Ask Samer and Abeer. Last September Jordanian security police connected to the country's Mukhabarat, or intelligence agency, showed up at the couple's home unannounced. They arrested Samer and detained him overnight. Samer's crime: coming to faith in Jesus Christ 14 years ago. Originally a Muslim, Samer over the years since his conversion has been questioned several times by security police but never detained.

This time, the police turned him over to the Islamic courts. The judges convicted Samer of apostasy. In a Nov. 23 decision the court decreed that his identification papers must be changed from "Muslim" to "no religion;" that he had forfeited any inheritance; that his marriage to Abeer is now illegal and therefore he is not entitled to custody of his son.

IRAN - Christians in Iran have expressed great fears for the life of pastor Hamid Pourmand, a lay leader in a church and a convert from Islam, who will appear before an Islamic court next week to face charges of apostasy. If found guilty he is likely to face the death penalty.

Jihad Watch

Also in Malaysia (the current example of well functioning Muslim democracy) Muslims can be punished to leave Islam:

In July when the Sharia court sentenced four Kelantan Malays to 20 months jail for apostasy, the rights of Muslims to quit Islam has come under intense discussion over the Internet.

ANOTHER six Christians have been arrested in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia as part of a new crackdown

On August 19, three other Eritrean Christians were arrested, known only bytheir first names of Gabayu, Kebrom and Mesfin. There are reports of more arrests, but these have not been confirmed.

There is particular concern for Mr Buliamin, a Christian whose passport say she is a Muslim. This means he could face the charge of apostasy from Islam, the penalty for which is death under Sharia law.

I do not care to share planet with perpetrators of this another example of Islamic madness. It is an abomination that practices comparable to the Spanish Inquisition take place in the twenty first century.

The Explosive Ones

When one considers how much the energy of young men needs to explode, one is not surprised that they decide for this cause or that without being at all subtle or choosy. What attracts them is the sight of the zeal that surrounds a cause -- as it were, the sight of the burning fuse, and not the cause itself. Subtle seducers therefore know the art of arousing expectations of an explosion while making no effort to furnish for their cause: reasons are not what wins over such powder kegs.

Al-Qaeda In Fascistine? Never!

When we heard a couple of weeks back that Al-Qaeda had made a statement in support of the Islamic terrorist group Hamas, news reports of statements by Hamas spokemen claimed that they rejected the support of Bin-Laden's terror network. Good news huh? Or was it just a facade? We can assume from Al-Qaeda's statement that they obviously support the "palestinians" desire for the extermination of Jews and the eradication of Israel and it was the "palestinians" who voted overwhelmingly for Hamas, who's charter calls for the slaughter of Jews and desctruction of Israel. Sound like two peas in a pod, right? So why didn't Hamas declare their support for an alliance with Al-Qaeda? Was it because one already existed and the Al-Qaeda statement was just a way of making this fact common knowledge for those willing to read between the lines, knowing that Hamas would refuse support, as this would make it impossible for western cowards to support the "palestinian" terror group if they knew an alliance like this existed?
Read on and decide for yourself whether there really is no Al-Qaeda in Fascistine :

"palestinians" show their support for Bin Laden

Two youths in their 20s from Nablus were charged by a military court on counts of being hired by the Jordanian branch of al-Qaida to perform terrorist acts in Israel. Their trial was to begin next month.

The two, Azzam abu el Adas and Bilal Hasnawi were arrested three months ago at the Allenby Bridge connecting between Jordan and the West Bank near Jericho, Israel Radio reported.

The planned terrorist attack, according to the indictment, was to take place at the French Hill in northern Jerusalem, and was to include both a car bomb and a suicide bomber.

The car bomb was planned to explode in a road just outside a local restaurant. Once the explosion occurred, the other terrorist was expected to blow himself up inside the same restaurant.

Adas and Hasnawi allegedly demanded 5,000 Jordanian Dinars from their al-Qaida handler for the preparations, including renting an apartment in Jerusalem that would house the suicide bomber before the attack.

Abu-Kuadma, the al-Qaida representative, said he would look into the matter, and asked them to recruit educated people "like Osama bin-Laden," who may serve as suicide bombers.

The two Palestinians were also suspected of planning suicide bombings in the old Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv and in Bat Yam

Danish troops to liberate Afghan Christian

From Jyllandsposten, the Danish newspaper that published the cartoons, there is this article from yesterday on Danish political reactions to the news on the brave Afghan apostate, Mr. Abdul Rahman. Translation follows:
Demands for Danish action of liberation
By KRISTOFFER PINHOLT
The government must avoid, that a 41 year old Afghan convert is condemned to death by a court in the Afghan capital, Kabul. It will take a political majority over the government.

»The government must act on this issue and show that Denmark is at the forefront in the fight for human rights and an international community of law. That is why we are in Afghanistan. If necessary the Danish troops in the country must liberate Abdul Rahman, and Denmark should offer him asylum. This matter underlines the necessity of fighting Sharia law, wherever you find it«, says political spokesman on foreign affairs, Naser Khader, of the "Radikale Venstre" party (left to center wing).

Abdul Rahman was arrested a month ago, after having been reported by his family, all orthodox Muslims. If he is convicted the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, must sign the sentence of death.

"Dansk Folkeparti" (right wing) threatens Afghan President

»I could not care less about the country's laws and rules. In a certain manner we are an authority in Afghanistan, and the President must avoid an execution, or we promise trouble. If not the Americans, English and Danes were in the country, President Hamid Karzai would within 5 minutes lie maltreated by a road side. I have no doubts he knows what this is about, and he has no choice but to obey orders from the allies on this issue«, says political spokesman on foreign affairs, Søren Espersen.

Head of "Socialistisk Folkeparti" (socialists), Villy Søvndal, condemns the trial against Abdul Rahman and has stated in a letter to foreign minister, Per Stig Møller (conservatives), that if the execution is fulfilled Denmark should withdraw its military forces from the country.

"Venstre" (right wing liberals, the main government party) desires to see how the matter develops, before the party will decide whether the Danish soldiers shall stay in Afghanistan.

What is really interesting here is that the "Radikale Venstre" a small left to center party, long time supporter of the left wing, and an extreme proponent of political correctness - in this matter is asking for military intervention! This gives me the hope, that when the abuses on human rights reaches a sufficient level, the support against the Islamists is bigger than what has seemed the case so far.

BTW, Mr Naser Khader is a moderate Muslim to be admired, that has been outspoken in his criticism of the Islamist during the entire Khartoon crisis and has indeed started an organisation of Muslim moderates to prove that only a rather small percentage of Danish Muslims support the Imams in Denmark in their quest to have Denmark condemned.

No! It's Not, George Bush!

The White House yesterday appealed for mercy in the case of Afghani "apostate" Abdul Rahman:

The Bush administration yesterday appealed to Afghanistan to spare the life of a man facing the death penalty for converting to Christianity, but said the matter was one for the Afghan government and courts to decide.

This is not for the Afghani government to decide.

We footed the bill for their freedom. We should have made sure that their government and constitution protected human rights.

This is not a gray issue. This is black and white.

Our money is going to pay for this man to be on trial under the threat of the death penalty.

Do we believe in our principles, or not?

Now, contrast our idiocy with how the Euros are dealing with this:

... the governments of Germany and Italy, which -- like the United States -- have substantial troop deployments in Afghanistan, lodged strong protests at the prospect of Mr. Rahman's execution, with former Italian President Francesco Cossiga saying Italy should withdraw its 1,775 troops in Afghanistan if the death sentence is handed down.

The Italian Foreign Ministry said Rome will move "at the highest level ... to prevent something which is incompatible with the defense of human rights and fundamental freedoms."

I am ashamed.

I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast.

That's Revelation 20:4, in case you're wondering.

Check out what's going on with Abdul Rahman, the Afghani "apostate."

Abdul was taken into custody and a court case has followed. The story hit public TV on Thursday, March 16.

The newscaster stated that an Afghan citizen by the name of Abdul Rahman converted to the Christian religion 16 years ago.

He was questioned, "Do you confess that you have apostacized from Islam?"

He responded, "No, I am not an apostate, I believe in God."

Question: "Do you believe in the Koran?"

Response: "I believe in the Injil (New Testament) and love Jesus Christ.

Abdul Rahman is the man.

There's video too.

Dutch Greens Propose Plan to Fight "Honor Killings"

This is from Esther over at Islam in Europe, and a rather interesting report, as the Leftist groups like the Greens (GroenLinks) have been notorious worldwide for ignoring this problem for years. This may prove to be an interesting precedent when it comes to the general "head in the saand" routine that has prevailed in Europe for so many years.
From: http://islamineurope.blogspot.com/2006/03/disgrace-of-honor-murders_21.html

The disgrace of honor murders

The Rotterdam branch of GroenLinks, a leftist liberal party, has recently come out with a new plan to help integrate immigrant women. Called "voorrang voor vrouwen" (priority for women), their general idea is that by dealing with the threats (immigrant) women face, it would be possible to help them come out to work and to join society.

One of these issues is a topic usually referred to as "honor murders". GroenLinks' proposal is to treat is much like domestic violence, by supporting organizations who help abused women in their own community. They also compared these murders of shame to any other murder where a family member (usually husband) goes into a rage and kills his wife and children.

I have asked GroenLinks for comments on my previous blog article on the subject and I was glad to see that they were open to engage in discussion.

Nadya van Putten, author of the plan, answered me as follows (translation below):

Debasisemotie, jaloezie, is echter dezelfde.

And the English translation:
Thank you for your interest in our plan 'Voorrang voor vrouwen'. Nice that you have read our 'metroplan' like it's meant to be: a safe place for women at moments they tend to stay indoors otherwise. It's indeed to a certain degree a sign of weakness, but our society is not perfect, and especially not at 2am.

Of course you're right that there's a difference between “honor murder” and “family drama”. The first is more consistent with culture, meaning norms and values that are felt in a certain society. However, the main emotion, jealousy, is the same.

For GroenLinks social pressure doesn't change the individual responsibility of people for their actions. That's why we put “honor murder” and “family drama” on one line, even if you'll have to use completely different approaches to avoid both.

I have been in touch with one of their representatives regarding this issue, since I do not think "honor murder" stems from jealousy at all. Rather, as its name implies, it stems from wanting to "clean" the family's "honor". If it was stained by certain behavior, it can only be restored by killing that person.

Since I stressed that such murders should not be treated as any other, I was asked what my approach would be. I can understand wanting to "explain away" such things and to show how it is not that different from any other Dutch person who murders. However, by doing so, you will invariably take the wrong approach to solving the problem. Dutch society accepts that a murder is a disgrace. "Honor" murders can only be solved if the prospective murderer would feel that his or his family's honor would be tainted even more by such a murder.

A plan for dealing with disgrace killings

1. Change the name – it is a shameful murder, not one of pride and honor. Rename it- disgrace killings.

2. Start a public campaign emphasizing that such behavior/murder is abhorred - not acceptable by Dutch norms. A Dutch man will not kill to protect his family's honor. A murder will bring shame.

3. Make sure women's groups that manage support centers to assist women are aware of this issue and perceptive of symptoms. Make sure police treat any such claim with the utmost seriousness.

4. "Shame" murders are not regular murders and the law should recognize that. Planning such a murder or attempting it should be severely punished.

Additionally, steps should be taken so that people who contemplate such murders will be aware that it will bring about only shame and unwanted social consequences. The following are just examples, but implementation would of course depend on the possibilities by law and research into the subject.
1. Anybody involved in planning and executing such murders will lose welfare benefits.
2. Advertise such stories on national media.
