Jon Stewart - Anti-Semite?

The other night I was watching the Jon Stewart Show (I think the guy is hilarious, so I do watch his show when I have the time), and he played the first 15 seconds or so of the following clip featuring Rudy Giuliani, wearing a Yarmulke, speaking to the members of a Synagogue in Boca Raton, Florida:

The thing is, Stewart introduced the clip by saying something to the effect of, "Here's a Republican candidate who really knows how to pander to minorities." And then, the clip of Giuliani, which Stewart followed by saying, "That's right! You'll win those Jews over by telling them you'll kill Muslims."

Now listen, I'm not a Jew, but isn't this this incredibly offensive? Jon Stewart is a Jew, but isn't he guilty of gross anti-Semitism by implying that Jews in general want to see Muslims dead?

I am providing the quotes as accurately as I can remember them. If someone can find the actual clip from the Jon Stewart Show, it would be very helpful.

Sure sounds like hate mongering to me. Of course in our age, ruled by the religion of White Guilt, it's hard for people to see that scapegoating the strong and successful for merely defending their right to exist is a form of insane hatred. Alas, if we take the most general and most exact understanding of Judeophobia, then a lot of leftist Jews are Judeophobes since leftism, when its full logic is worked out, is a resentment of those who are distinguished in various ways by being a step ahead of the crowd, e.g. by membership in the first nation that so far refuses to be merged into the great Utopia of the universal nation of the leftist-ummatic imagination.

Keep the faith, man. Glad to see you Californians probably put the kibosh on the man from the Nation of Islam

Hey TruePeers,

Good to see you. Where are you writing these days?

On subject, if this isn't anti-Semitism from Jon Stewart, then it is certainly an extremely ill-advised joke, considering the fact that many will simply believe it.

But, who am I to criticize a guy for making an ill-advised joke, huh?

I've mostlyh been at Covenant ZOne lately, getting all worked up about the Mark Steyn Ezra Levant, free speech "human rights" scandal in Canada.

Of course a good Scot, like Mr. Stewart, can't afford to let any joke go to waste. Totally understandable.

Jon Stewart is Jewish, you silly people. He's allowed to be cynical of a politician's pandering to minority communities when it comes close to election time. That's what satirists do - it's his job.

Anonymous,
Thanks for straightening that out for me.
