Silent Betrayal

Thanks to Pastorius for emailing me to cal my attention to this February 3, 2008 article in the Telegraph:

A deafening silence that betrays our values

Four weeks ago, the Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali, expressed on these pages his concern at the lack of integration into British society of some Muslim communities living here. He has since received an enormous amount of support from private individuals for his remarks - as well as death threats from fanatics who said they would kill him unless he stopped criticising the religion of Islam (something which he insisted he was not doing).

The most striking aspect of the response to his article, however, has not been that bigoted and offensive reaction from a small number: it has been the almost complete silence from the Government on the issues he raised. Despite recent claims by ministers that they want to revise the policy of multiculturalism, and that they wish for a vigorous national debate on what should replace it, their reaction to this - and indeed to all other attempts to generate debate - has been deafening silence.
You could be forgiven for thinking there is a conspiracy to prevent discussion of the issues that the bishop, and millions of other Britons, are so concerned about.

The official reluctance to confront those issues acts far more effectively than death threats to suppress their discussion. Yet questions of immigration and integration are amongst the most critically important faced by Britain. As we report today, thousands of women in Britain are being beaten, bullied, intimidated and indeed sometimes murdered by members of their own families - and it is being done in the name of their religion and of "traditional values". An investigation by the Centre for Social Cohesion has established that whole communities have been involved in suppressing their female members' wholly legitimate desire to marry whom they choose, to follow careers of their own, and to dress and live according to their own will, rather than at the command of a male relative.

No one in Government could possibly endorse the cruel denial of elementary freedoms to women. An absolutely basic value of the free and tolerant society in which most of us want to live is that every adult should be able to choose whom they will marry, where they will work, and what they will wear. No one who believes in liberal values (and every member of the Government insists that they are committed to those values) can accept that women should be denied an education, or should be bullied into marriages which they oppose, or denied the right to go outside their homes without being accompanied by, or getting permission from, a male relative. Yet that is precisely what is happening in some of the tightly knit immigrant communities in Britain.

The brutal coercion of women has been aided and abetted by Government policy, and thus by the ministers who make and implement it. The attitude of the state to those who would deny women fundamental freedoms should be one of active engagement to prevent any such appalling abuse: it should be an aggressive campaign to ensure that the law is enforced and that illegal coercion of women is prevented; and to ensure that "traditional" attitudes change.
People who come from cultures where coercive behaviour towards women is the norm should be made to realise that it will not be tolerated in this country.

And yet what do we actually get from the Government? So far, a failure to tackle cultures that endorse the brutal oppression of women.

Now, for a real jaw-dropper, even for most of us counter-jihadists:
...[T]he Government has just taken the dismally retrograde step of recognising polygamy: men with more than one wife will be able to claim benefits for each additional spouse....CLICK HERE to read the comments to the above article. The comments indicate that the UK government no longer represents the desires of many of the governed, who find themselves more and more appalled with each step of appeasing fundamentalist Muslims.

How long before revolution comes to the UK? In my view, the next step is either total surrender or revolution.

Since all state agencies have been subverted and infiltrated by jihadists, to whom are these unfortunate women to turn for protection?

Maybe this is a wake-up call for the Christian Churches (ALL of them!) to get their act together and organise escape routes for these unfortunate women. Escape would be much easier for them if they knew they could walk into a any Christian Church and be given immediate assistance.

This should be done purely out of Christian charity, with no pressure for the women and girls to leave the Death Cult or convert to Christianity, though this would be unnecessary as these ladies would be too scared ever to set foot in a Mosque again.

Such a course of action would also have the beneficial effect of weakening the demographic jihad. Muslim families may have 4.5 children, but if 2.3 of them become kuffars, they're never going to establish the Caliphate.

Najistani,

Sad to say that many Christian churches are more into interfaithing than into helping the suffereing.

You are more than correct Always,
the Christian West (including the US and Canada)has anyway allowed Muslim practices to go un-challenged. In California, Arizona, Texas, and of course Michigan...the sight of Muslim men followed by four wives is a common sight. The British decision just make the common law legal.

Have we all ordered prayer-rugs for our children and grandchildren yet?

Peace

The news coming out of the UK gets worse and worse as the days pass by. Is there no end to the stupidity of this government? It was bad enough under 'Bliar'; but Gord is much worse. Just when we thought that things couldn't get any worse, they just got a whole lot worse!

Britain is galloping down the road of dhimmitude. I feel ashamed that my country has such a craven government.

But if we think this is bad, just wait a while longer: Things are going to get a whole lot worse! Why? Because the British government will just keep on caving in. Weakness is as weakness does.

Hospital porter fired in crucifix row

A HOSPITAL porter has been sacked after a row over a crucifix being covered up in a prayer room.

Joseph Protano, 54, was suspended four days after the incident last month at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury.

He has now been dismissed for gross misconduct, but intends to appeal.

Police quizzed him for four hours last month, on suspicion of religiously aggravated assault, but he was released without charge.

He denies the allegations and must wait to see if police take any action.

The row centres on a prayer room available to staff and visitors of all faiths at the hospital, which contains a Virgin Mary statue and a crucifix.

Mr Protano, a Roman Catholic who has worked two years at the hospital, entered the room when three Muslims were using it - two patients and a doctor.

An argument broke out after he asked them to remove a cloth covering the crucifix and statue and to turn a picture of the Virgin Mary face up.

He said he was unable to comment on his sacking as the police probe and his plans to appeal were ongoing.

But a friend said: "He was very shocked at the decision.

"He thinks he has been treated terribly.

"He loves his job and doesn't do it for the money - until recently, his employers were paying just £5.88 an hour.

"They are saying he should not have gone into the prayer room and it is alleged he used racist language, which he totally refutes.

"His pay has been stopped, even though he intends to appeal, and he has had to sign on for benefits."

The friend said Mr Protano went into the prayer room about six times a day to check the statue and crucifix were not left covered.

He said as a Christian, he felt it could be upsetting for visiting parents to find them covered up.

The case has angered many hospital staff, who think he has been treated unfairly.

Police said a file had been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service to decide on any further action.

..and worse

"A MUSLIM fanatic is funding terrorists killing British troops in Afghanistan while SPONGING off our state benefits, the News of the World can reveal.
Gloating extremist Mohammed Nawaz Raja (above left) runs a network of door-to-door money-raisers collecting thousands for his fake ‘charity'...

Incredibly Nawaz, who owns a five-bedroom £350,00 house, is himself being funded by the taxpayer.

He pockets £250-a-week in handouts — and boasts: "I'm a British national. The government pays me to live."

And referring to his "charity" he adds chillingly: "We are supporting a lot of jihad (holy war) organisations. They need our support. They have to buy weapons!"

We nailed Nawaz, his ‘treasurer' Mohammed Shakeel Akhtar (above right), and his shifty accountant after a perilous three-month investigation by an undercover team of reporters...

He handed us leaflets—giving his NatWest bank account and details for one in Pakistan—outlining the work of his madrassa, based in Islamabad, which he said were to be handed to people on the doorstep.

Nawaz told our reporter to grow a full beard to appear more religious when knocking on doors. He then gave detailed instructions on how to raise funds and boasted of his own experience in Slough.

"In just four hours, I collected £150 pounds. If you work for four to five hours a day it is very easy."

Yet his organisation is not registered as a charity in Britain and cannot lawfully seek donations. He falsely uses the charity number 1112702, which is registered to the Thara Welfare Trust, a wholly legitimate charity based in High Wycombe, with no involvement with Nawaz or any terrorist activities...

"We have the contacts with the jihadis," he confided. "Both in Kashmir, and with Jaish-e-Mohammed."

Jaish-e-Mohammed, formed by Maulana Masood Azhar in 1994, is a banned terrorist organisation which has direct links with Osama Bin Laden.

Azhar is known to have had meetings with the Al-Qaeda terror boss. The group have been responsible for a series of bombings, and a plane hijacking, and the kidnapping of Western tourists. The group were also implicated in the brutal kidnap and murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
