"We Are Not Amused: The Queen Is Pissed ... Uh, Make That Angry

Up Pompeii notes that Her Royal Highness (HRH), the Queen, is not at all amused by the controversy the Archbishop has stirred up:

From The Telegraph

The Queen is distressed by the row over Islamic law which she fears threatens to undermine the authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury and damage the Church of England.

Gandalf comments:

Statements such as this do not get issued lightly and the words used go much further than a critique of the Archbishop, this is a clear indication that HRH is not happy at all with the Islamic presence in the UK.

HRH is obviously aware of the crisis within her realm and she has now broken her silence, we can only hope for more of the same.

The Government of the UK should take note of this development and the amount of anger that has poured out of the now lanced chancre.

Now is the opportunity for all of the people of this land who wish to see the eradication of the cancer of Islam from the UK to speak out, do not let this opportunity fade into the distance.

Write to Her Majesty, you will get a reply from Buckingham Palace I know I have done it .

Lobby your MP, they are under great scrutiny at the moment and have to be seen enacting the will of the people.

HRH can if she is convinced to do so for the preservation of her Realm appeal directly to the armed forces of the UK to protect the Realm, for this she does NOT need Parliamentary assent, thus in a plea to her Majesty, I beseech her to do so without further delay.

Well, if the Queen of England has awakened from her slumber, she will need to plan to outlive her son and clean her own palace.

Recall that the Queen accommodated a Muslim female gift shop employee by designating an Islamic prayer room inside of Windsor Castle.

Also consider that a 1997 Middle East Quarterly article titled "Prince Charles of Arabia," by Ronni L. Gordon and David M. Stillman, looked at evidence that Britain's Prince Charles might be a secret convert to Islam. They sifted through his public statements (defending Islamic law, praising the status of Muslim women, seeing in Islam a solution for Britain's ailments) and actions (setting up a panel of twelve "wise men" to advise him on Islamic religion and culture), and concluded that "should Charles persist in his admiration of Islam and defamation of his own culture," his accession to the throne will indeed usher in a "different kind of monarchy.

Prince Charles is not the only possible convert to Islam among Britain's upper classes. As reported in The Sunday Times of 22 Feb. 2004, some of the country's top landowners and celebrities, as well as the offspring of senior Establishment figures, have embraced Islam after becoming disillusioned with Western values. Radiance Viewsweekly also reported that "Jonathan Birt, the son of Lord Birt, and Emma Clark, the granddaughter of former liberal Prime Minister Herbert Asquith, are only two of 14,000 mostly-elite white Britons who have reverted to Islam."

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl, but she doesn't have a lot to say.

Revereridesagain....Oh yes QE1 would have definetly turned it loose...Pastorius, I'm sure that Queenie is very very far from amused. Unfortunately the position she occupies is deliberately non political, so she's gagged by protocol. On the other hand a very strong argument could be made that the Muslim question is infact a Supra Political issue and is a cultural issue. As the head of state and consequently cultural guardian of the nation she should have the right to speak up on a cultural issue. God help us when Charlie becomes king.

I don't understand British protocol, but it would seem that if the Queen can't speak up on this issue, then her position is good for nothing.

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl, but she changes from day to day.

Well, her mother lived to be what, 104, and she looks healthy enough to me, but if she's going to take a stand on this I do respectfully suggest she get a move on. (As we all recall, sometimes she needs a nudge from the public to speak up.) Wait for Charles and it will be much too late.

Yea I agree, it sounds silly doesn't it? HM the Queen is the mother of the nation and yet we can't listen to mother speaking? However would you hand that much influence over to an unelected inherited dynasty? On balance I think that THIS Queen is right on the money on this issue...so I think the circumstances should be considered as....Special. A break with the traditional, correct protocol of a non political Royal family should be set aside....especially as THIS issue is more cultural rather than political in it's context. It GETS politicized and exploited by politicians and their opposite numbers...Imams and the Islamic 'Religious Aristocracy/Elite' , when really it's a grass roots movement. Fuck Islam,Fuck racism,Fuck New Labour and the Tories (who got us here!) Queenie should speak in defense of her people. The Nation is under attack...even she knows it.

Oh and 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!'

Watcher,
I agree. Your distinction that this is a cultural rather than political issue is very important. And, that is exactly why this is an issue the Queen ought to speak out on.

I'm glad you made the distinction, because I hadn't quite thought of it that way.
