All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
YOU truly have become what you hate...it is funny commercial in any culture or language. Mr. Islam-hater, stop hating for the sake of hating - you are them.I would have liked to see her win though.
Men and women grabbing each other by the arm, and kicking each other, in the middle of a restaurant sure is funny. In fact, it's romantic. My wife and I do that kind of thing all the time. You want to do it with me too?
If you click on some of the other McDonald's commercials in the playlist, you find more offensive ones, Jaco! But, back to the hatery. I think this commercial is Lebanese, and possibly directed toward Christians, since there is no segregation of the sexes. I think the commercial is a spoof on traditional Mediterranean stereotypes of men and women being hotheads over the littlest things. I didn't find it offensive at all! Italian men and women could have been fighting each other over a cheese burger one moment, and then passionately make up the next. Just because it's in Arabic doesn't necessarily mean it's Muslim. Lebanon is half Christian...the last of the Christian hold outs in the middle east. It used to be about 90 percent Christian, til Arafat set up Palestinian refugee camps, and then Hezbollah took over the tiny muslim areas. That is what their civil war was about. Muslim conquest. If anything, this commercial shows some natural, youthful passion that happens between the sexes. What IS offensive, is that McDonalds in Saudi Arabia IS segregated. Women have one side where they may eat, and men another. Worse, still, is that women cannot come in alone and without the niqab...which is even more restrictive than the burqa or plain old hijab. And they may not be out of their homes without a male family member accompanying them. That is deeply offensive.
I also guessed that this was Lebanese. Why? Because of the music and the humor. But, contrary to what our Anonymous friend would like to believe, the humor does not hide the fact that this commercial is playing to the macho Jihadist mindset of those in a Muslim country. It doesn't matter whether these people, or the people it is directed to are Christian or Muslim. it is the mindset, or the psychographic that I am speaking of.By the way, the guy has that cool Western half-beard that Muslims in the West prefer. There is little question that part of the target audience here is Muslim. And, also, that whole Mediterranean thing of physical fighting is a manifestation of the same kind of machoism. And, it is dangerous to women. It is not cute. There is a reason why Italian, Greek, and Spanish cultures have been the latest to do away with the veil, and allow women equal rights.
There used to be alot of honor killings in Mediterranean countries especially in Sicily. Outlawing the practice and vigorously prosecuting that crime has made it almost disappear in that region.
In that region, and in that religion. It's stuff like that that makes me think there is hope for Islam. It is true that Christianity and Judaism have been hard on women. And now, generally, they are not.If we can grow, maybe Muslims can too.Although they've shown no propensity for growth in their first 1300 years.
