PREPARE for a new America: That's the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.
He promised "fundamental changes" in US foreign policy - saying America must "heal wounds" it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the "arrogance of the Bush administration."
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
Point two:
Is Jackson worried about the "Bradley effect" - that people may be telling pollsters they favor the black candidate, but won't end up voting for him?
"I don't think this is how things will turn out," he says. "We have a collapsing economy and a war that we have lost in Iraq. In Afghanistan, we face a resurgent Taliban. New threats are looming in Pakistan. Our liberties have been trampled under feet (Calling Stanley Kurtz). . . Today, most Americans want change, and know that only Barack can deliver what they want. Young Americans are especially determined to make sure that Obama wins."
He sees a broad public loss of confidence in the nation's institutions: "We have lost confidence in our president, our Congress, our banking system, our Wall Street and our legal system to protect our individual freedoms. . . I don't see how we could regain confidence in all those institutions without a radical change of direction."
Summary:
His most surprising position concerns Iraq. He passionately denounces the toppling of Saddam Hussein as "an illegal and unjust act." But he's now sure that the United States "will have to remain in Iraq for a very long time."
On Iran, he strongly supports Obama's idea of opening a direct dialogue with the leadership in Tehran. "We've got to talk to tell them what we want and hear what they want," Jackson says. "Nothing is gained by not talking to others."
Jackson is especially critical of President Bush's approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
"Bush was so afraid of a snafu and of upsetting Israel that he gave the whole thing a miss," Jackson says. "Barack will change that," because, as long as the Palestinians haven't seen justice, the Middle East will "remain a source of danger to us all."
"Barack is determined to repair our relations with the world of Islam and Muslims," Jackson says. "Thanks to his background and ecumenical approach, he knows how Muslims feel while remaining committed to his own faith."
We could dismiss this as the ignorant ravings of one man, except for:

What kind of morons will be voting for this man?

Did you happen to catch the link provided by anonymous below in an earlier thread?
Sarkozy says arabic is the language of the future
The ever expanding web of Arab/Islamic (socialist/Marxist marriage) infiltration to every political sphere . . .combined with the rapid increase in sharia compliant financial instruments is and should be extremely alarming!
HRW
America didn´t loose the war in Iraq. He doesn´t know what means to loose a war.
Oh good, I hoped someone wold pick up on this. Jackson was over in France and appears to have -- correctly -- assumed that the majority of the American electorate is too stupid, lazy, and Obama-inebriated to pay attention to anything he says over there. Not that most of them would pay attention if he said it over here either. (Has the Farrakhan Obama "Messiah" video hit the MSM yet?) But it is no longer possible for the fools voting for BHO to claim they don't know what they are choosing. Not only Jackson, but increasingly other Obama coattail-riders are coming out of the Marxist-racist-Islamist-anti-semitic closet and revealing their true intentions.
Even Bush has to know what this portends for Israel. The cliff-hanger is, will he strike Iran between 11/5/08 and 1/19/09? Even if he or the Israelis hit Iran, that doesn't guarantee that Israel will not be thrown to the Islamists in one way or another under an Obama presidency.
And keep in mind that when a Jesse Jackson or Obama mouths the words "individual freedoms" and "our liberties" he is not speaking of the principles that motivated the Founders. When Jackson warns about a resurgent Taliban while virtually in the same breath pontificating about "repair[ing] our relations with the world of Islam and Muslims" he is a liar and a manipulator.
The mask will come off on January 21, 2009. But no one will be able to claim that they were not warned. They were warned. They chose to turn their heads away and cover their ears and blank out their minds.
Nobody cares RRA.
We assume if only they knew, this would all be different. Most don't want to be tasked so with this knowledge, the rest are either FOR sucking the producers and thinkers dry while ranting against the cheaters of Wall St, or societal kool aid drinkers of 'change' flavor, and turn it all aside.
Therefore we are shouting into a void.
Call me a "moron" if that's your style, but I am DEFINITELY voting for Obama. Slander and smear him all you want (usually with a double standard when not totally mean-spirited and false), but the majority of Americans wisely support Obama over McCain.
