Ship Carrying Radioactive Material (Possibly Intended as Dirty Bomb For Detonation Against Israel) "Released" From Somalian "Pirates"

Following up on the story we featured yesterday about the Iranian ship, "hijacked" by Somalian "pirates" and carrying a load of some sort of radioactive material:

Mystery "Death Ship" Released From Somalian Pirates

Lets see if anyone is interested enough to investigate the strange rumors we have heard. The MV Iran Dianat (also spelled Deyanat) has been released.
On August 21, the pirates seized the Iranian bulk carrier, carrying 42,500 tons of minerals and industrial products. "The ship Dianat was released on Friday morning after even weeks of negotiations with Somali pirates and all 29 members of the crew are safe," Said public relations office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (IRISL). The ship is sailing towards international waters, IRISL added.
From a public health perspective alone, this ship should be inspected. When major mainstream media like Reuters runs a media report that something hazardous enough is on the ship to kill people upon minor exposure, and the ship has direct ties to the Iran Revolutionary Guard, doing nothing sends the wrong message.

I saw another story on this somewhere with more extensive and included more documentation, but was on my way to work and didn't have time to post it. Now I can't find it again. I know it wasn't on one of the news sites because I remember wondering if it would "make the news".

Oh yeah... it was here. Sorry, it's been that sort of a week.

So where is it now? International waters?

Pirates reject local mediator
Written By:Beverly Gatimu , Posted: Sun, Oct 12, 2008

Pirates holding a Ukranian arms ship off the Somalia Coast have rejected a local mediator, delaying efforts to free the freighter laden with battle tanks and other arms.

Elders and a pirate say on Saturday they had agreed to free the ship, hijacked on September 25 while headed to the Kenyan port of Mombasa, but later they walked out of the deal insisting that Somali mediators be withdrawn.

Elders in the Harardhere where the MV Faina ship with 21 crew members is anchored said the hijackers agreed to receive 10 million US dollars for the release of the ship but halted the talks because of the Somali Brokers.

The pirates said the negotiation on the ransom figure will resume in four days with new brokers.

US warships and navies from other nations are surrounding the MV Faina to prevent the pirates from offloading the cargo.

On October 10, Iran evidently having paid the required ransom, the Deyanat was released, and allowed to depart. It sailed apparently in the direction of Muscat.
