From The Brussels Journal:
Sarkozy: “Arabic Is the Language of the Future”Well, the French are going to have to learn some useful phrases in their new tongue: I propose the following:

The French government is strongly advocating the teaching of Arabic language and civilization in French schools. Not surprising, considering the number of Arabs and Muslims in France, and the unctuous deference with which they are treated by officials, beginning notably with Nicolas Sarkozy, who cannot praise enough the splendor of Arabic contributions to the world.
The French National Assembly was the scene of a meeting earlier this month of the first Conference on the Teaching of Arabic Language and Culture, attended by a variety of interested parties. There was much wearisome blather about the need for "dialogue."
In his message to the participants, French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Arabic the "language of the future, of science and of modernity," and expressed the hope that "more French people share in the language that expresses great civilizational and spiritual values."
"We must invest in the Arabic language (because) to teach it symbolizes a moment of exchange, of openness and of tolerance, (and it) brings with it one of the oldest and most prestigious civilizations of the world. It is in France that we have the greatest number of persons of Arabic and Muslim origin. Islam is the second religion of France," Sarkozy reminded his listeners.
He proceeded to enumerate the various "advances in terms of diversity," the increase in Muslim sections of cemeteries, the training of imams and chaplains and the appointments of ministers of diverse backgrounds.
"France is a friend of Arabic countries. We are not seeking a clash between the East and West," he affirmed, emphasizing the strong presence of Arab leaders at the founding summit of the Union for the Mediterranean, last July 13. "The Mediterranean is where our common hopes were founded. Our common sea is where the principal challenges come together: durable development, security, education and peace," added the French president.
"How does one say 'I surrender' in Arabic?"
"Please don't cut off my head, Monsieur!"
"Can't you see that I am already on my knees?"
"You want me to do WHAT?"
"I am not that kind of Frenchman, monsieur!"
"But I have a little sister."
"Since when did 16 become too old?"
"Him, that is my little brother. He is only 5!"
"Okay, okay, adieu, Jacques, go with the nice Musulman."
The kind folks at Weekly Standard have composed a spanking new national anthem for the feckless French. Au revoir, a dieu, alors!
And now, let us bid a fond farewell, midst the rising smoke and flames of a million burning Peugeots:

What parallel universe is Sarkozy talking about?
Ah the French art of le Blather. You see, the Arabs, zey already speak Arabic! It is the dhimmis who do not yet feel themselves subjegated. Soon, will come le jizya! Vive la Francabia.
I believe the French just want to know how to say "I surrender" in Arabic to keep their heads. After all surrender is the oldest of all French traditions.
Knight of Pan,
To be fair though, it wasn't always like that. The French helped America in its fight for Independence. In fact their military and navy was in many ways superior to what we had back than. Napoleon nearly conquered all of European before he surrendered and France never surrender during world war one. Unfortunately the same can't be said for world war two.
The gods first make crazy those they are about to destroy.
Damien you are correct. The whole surrender thing really goes back to the early 20th Century.
Historicaly they helped us with our revolution and the likes of Jefferson helped them with theirs.
It's just fun to tease them. I really do wonder why they are so quick to accept Arabic though. It does seem as though they are slowly surrendering French culture to Arab.
MDR! (mourir de rire)
Official French Govt levels of security alert:
LOW - Retreat
MEDIUM - Surrender
HIGH - Collaborate
P.S. What will happen to 'Gay Paree'?
Damien,
Next time you're in a Barnes & Noble pick up a copy of the book, "Our Oldest Enemy".
It's about how France was deceptive and weasely in every encounter with the USA from the very beginning, often attempting to stab us in the back, while trying to make themselves look like heroes for helping us.
The truth is, the only help France ever gave us was to stab their other enemy, England, in the back.
And, of course, this is the French way; to stab the person in the back. Not to face them eye to eye, like men, but to lay in wait until they turn their back, and then to plunge the knife in.
Knight of Pan,
LOL, and probably true.
The video so apropos.
Hugh Fitzgeral stated this years ago (2005):
"And the Muslim presence in the state schools is now cause for permanent disruption of ministerial curricula (we won't read Voltaire, or Racine; we won't study the Holocaust or French history), and of classroom and schoolyard discipline. . . The French, the well-connected and carefully schooled rulers, and the ruled, both for a long time remained carefully uninterested in what Islam teaches, or what arises naturally from the tenets of Islam, to form what might be called the attitudes and atmospherics of a Muslim community.

Time to dust off the old copy of
Andre Servier's "Islam and the Psychology of the Musulman" published 1922/23, or read it online Tout de suite!!.
Some striking statements by Mr. Servier about the Musulman:
"The intelligence of an Arab rises as high as the faculty of imitation. Put him on a motor-car or a locomotive engine, and after a certain time of apprenticeship, they will be able to drive it; but if the machine should get out of order, he will be quite incapable of repairing it, and still less could he make a new one.”
The same mistake had been committed by the Romans in former days, when they had granted the citizenship to barbarians. "An exchange was established between Italy and the Provinces. Italy sent her sons to die in distant lands and received in compensation millions of slaves. Of these, some were attached to the land, cultivated it, and soon enriched it with their bones; others, crowded together in the towns, attentive to the vices of a master, were often freed by him and became citizens. Little by little the sons of freed men came to be in sole possession of the city, composed the Roman people, and under this name gave laws to the world. From the time of the Gracchi, they alone nearly filled the Forum. Thus, a new people succeeded to the Roman people, absent or destroyed."
'Islam was not a torch, as has been claimed, but an extinguisher. Conceived in a barbarous brain for the use of a barbarous people, it was-and it remains-incapable of adapting itself to civilization. Wherever it has dominated, it has broken the impulse towards progress and checked the evolution of society.'
“Islam is Christianity adapted to Arab mentality, or, more exactly, it is all that the unimaginative brain of a Bedouin, obstinately faithful to ancestral practices, has been able to assimilate of the Christian doctrines. Lacking the gift of imagination, the Bedouin copies, and in copying he distorts the original. Thus Musulman law is only the Roman Code revised and corrected by Arabs; in the same way Musulman science is nothing but Greek science interpreted by the Arab brain; and again, Musulman architecture is merely a distorted imitation of the Byzantine style.” (Servier, page 61)

Pastorius,
No matter what France may have done in the past, If they fall to the Islamic horde, things will not only get worse for them, it will get worse for us. When the Jihadists finish with Europe, who do you think they will set their sights on next?
Besides isn't France, a secular democracy? Isn't France also a western country? We can't allow the free world to go the way of the dinosaur.
The French weren't always cowards. In fact, Charles Martel and the Franks won the Battle of Tours in 732 against the raiding Muslim hordes and stopped Islam from spreading to Western Europe. If it were not for that event, we would probably all be Muslim today. Too bad it seems the French just won the battle and are losing the war.
There are actually some Arab thinkers, though few and far between.
They all moan about the fact that more books are translated into Spanish in one year than have been into Arabic since the invention of the printing press. The average Muslim household outside the West does not own any books, 90% of Muslims cannot read the Koran and though they may recite parts of it, they do so by rote and have no understanding.
Charles Martel's grandson was Carol "the Great" who did a good job at creating a stable Christian empire, forming later on France and Germany. I think today both of them are turning in their graves quite nicely.
andre79,
Even though he's not French, you could also count Winston Churchill. If he could see what was happening to Europe, in particular, his homeland of Briton, he'd be rolling in his grave as well.
Damien,
in 5 years time I doubt that children in Britain will ever be taught in school who Churchill or Nelson were.
