Fairfax, Va: Massive Bust Near Popular Dar al-Hijrah Mosque

Vlad Tepes Blog has the story.

My thoughts are, as you read through the list of counts against those who have been arrested, you will find charges such as "transporting and receiving stolen property", "money-laundering", "distribution of stolen property", and "distribution" of various illegal drugs.

Additionally, the article asserts that the police claim to have "infiltrated several criminal organizations and businesses operating around the center".

In other words, what we have here is Organized Crime.

If it can be proven that monies are flowing from these criminal organizations to the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque, in the form of Zakat payments, then you have a clear-cut case in which RICO Statutes would be applicable in shutting down a Mosque.

And, in my opinion, we are only scratching the suface here. The conspiracy between Mosque, criminal organizations, and the funding of terrorism runs very deep, in my oh so humble opinion.

May 15, 2009 ·  From Fairfax Gov and Silent MajorityFairfax County Police led a massive bust near the popular and growing radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, VA Fairfax County, home to Falls Church, one of the major frontlines of Islamist aggression. We have:

On Wednesday, May 6, over 135 law enforcement personnel participated in concluding a year-long undercover investigation. Operation Build America
was launched in May 2008 to better understand the criminal activity
taking place in and around the Build America Shopping Center. The
shopping center is nestled in the Skyline community in the 3800 block
of South George Mason Drive. Community concerns of illegal activities
in the shopping center coupled with indicators that crime was in the
upswing sprung the operation into motion.

The investigation successfully infiltrated several criminal
organizations and businesses operating around the center.
Undercover
police officers identified nearly 40 people suspected of criminal
activity that ranges from property crimes to crimes of violence. The
undercover operation successfully recovered stolen firearms and illegal
narcotics including cocaine and marijuana.

Collectively, 143 criminal arrest warrants and 15 search warrants were issued in this undercover operation.

The success of the operation can be attributed to the coordinated effort of several units and agencies:

the bonds are pathetically low considering the time and costs invested by law enforcement.

All they have to do is prove a Zakat-link, and your beloved Mosque is in deep shit.

Crow all you want, my friendly Jihadist, but sooner or later, those who enforce our laws are going to catch on to what I'm saying, and then all of you mofos are going to be thrown out of our country.

whatever been said a bout Dar Alhijrah Islamic Center is untrue. i believe whoever posted that is making up stories. i just wanna remind this person that they will be held accountable on the day of Judgment in front of GOD. Be honest and just tell what you are sure about. also, please can you post any proofs that support your imagination. Dar Alhijrah has been there in the community helping community and providing all different types of services. of course, Dar Alhijrah must have supporters to donate for services that have provided because it is a Non-for-profit Organization

How "racist" am I?

Since when is Islam a race?

What is the relationship between Zakat and this?

The answer is, if the Mosques knowingly took money from crime organizations in the form of "Zakat", then they are participating in Organized Crime. Additionally, their non-profit status is a good vehicle for money-laundering, not that it is necessarily used for such.

Anonymous No 2,

You said: whatever been said a bout Dar Alhijrah Islamic Center is untrue.

I ask: What specifically is untrue? If you tell me, I'll address it further. If I state that something is my opinion, then it is not a statement of fact, but merely an opinion. Everything else in this article comes from the police. So, if you are disagreeing with the other stuff, then you are disagreeing with the police.

Take it up with them.

You're jumping to some big conclusions by cherry-picking your facts.

- Dar al-Hijrah is miles away from Skyline shopping centers. You implied that the businesses infiltrated are around the mosque. The mosque is in a non-muslim residential neighborhood and near apartment buildings.

- The criminals arrested are from towns in a 45 mile range. And out of 143 arrest warrants, only 27 are on your list. That's only 19% of the total.

- The 'corridor' you're referring to has a large Latino population with gangs, like MS-13. Crimes are part of gang initiation so many agencies have worked together to keep us safe. Did you exclude the machete attacks from your list of crimes because they weren't commited by people with muslim names?

- The people who visit Dar al-Hijrah are not extremists or terrorists. I'm a white Christian woman and I've been warmly received on my visits. They might have had some bad apples, but given the large number of visitors they have, the percentage is about the same as hitting the lottery. No one accuses the administration of Columbine High School of producing terrorists, yet our country still mourns the day two of their members became terrorists.

The world is a scary place, but creating fear of a specific group isn't going to help anyone.

Bridget,
You may be right about the geography. I don't know, because I haven't been there.

But, you are wrong about the reality of Dar al-Hijrah Mosque. It is the Mosque where Anwar al-Awlaki preached. He is an extremist Imam who trained was a mentor to three of the 9/11 highjackers and Major Hasan who recently killed all those people at Ft. Hood.

Bridget,
Um, you have a geographical error in your comment.

Actually, Skyline shopping centers are nowhere near Skyline Drive (Blue Ridge Mountains). Skyline shopping centers are about 5 miles east of Dar al-Hijrah. Skyline shopping centers are very near Skyline Towers, at Bailey's Crossroads, which happens to have the second largest concentration of Moslems in the United States (Dearborn, MI, being first).

I'm a native of Northern Virginia and can answer any questions you have about geography here.

As for the concentration of Latinos, well, many Moslems also live in the area around Dar al-Hijrah. You are correct that there are a lot of Latinos too.

Dar al-Hijrah does welcome "outsiders" but only at certain times as far as I know. I myself have attended an open house there, and the discussion on the panel burst into chaos over the definition of jihad. This was before 9/11, around 1999, I think.

And you'd better rethink that extremists aren't at Dar al-Hijrah. They certainly have been in the past. Note the recent info about Hasan, the Fort Hood jihadist, and the imam who was expelled from Dar al-Hijrah.

I invite you to visit Northern Virginiastan, a site which specializes in the quiet and not-so-quiet jihad in the D.C. area.
