More delusion by Obama, this time over Japan

U.S. officials said last week that North Korea's second nuclear test is not likely to trigger Tokyo to break out of its anti-military posture and develop nuclear weapons.
Not alone, you jackasses. However....

non-government observers say Japan's well-developed nuclear power infrastructure, which includes large quantities of fissile material, could be easily converted, in secret, to a nuclear weapon program, if Japan made the decision.

U.S. officials said a small but significant core of nationalist politicians, defense experts, and pundits are still actively pressing for a new public debate on nuclear weapons development.

The key to preventing Japan from going nuclear will be continued trust and reliance on U.S. nuclear assurances

You mean from their steadfast, dependable, all weather friend the USA?

Yesterday, Pyongyang threatened war on any country that dared to stop its ships under the new sanctions approved by the UN security council on Friday.

It is unclear whether North Korea's statements are simply rhetoric. But they are a setback for international attempts to rein in the country's nuclear ambitions following its second nuclear test on 25 May.

In yesterday's statement, Pyongyang said it has been enriching uranium to provide fuel for its light-water reactor. It was the first public acknowledgment that the North is running such a programme in addition to its known plutonium one.

Is there ANYONE who believes that RIGHT NOW, THIS SECOND, serious people in leadership in Japan WHICH AS ALREADY SUFFERED TWO NUCLEAR ATTACKS, are not planning to convert guided weapons to nuclear weapons? Are not putting in place plans to have such weapons ready in DAYS, not weeks? Are not developing plans to USE such weapons preemptively? Is there anyone serious who thinks that having Japan converted to a nuclear power is in the long range strategic interest of the USA?

This will NOT be because our strength or deterrent is physically weakened (yet) .. it will be because it is PERCEIVED by friends, allies, and enemies that OUR leadership is vacillating, undependable, unsure of the correct course, and liable to come up with any plan imaginable... all possible because the american people decided to believe in the promises of this man. Promises whose goals were clearly unreal, never possible, and based on dreams and the weakness of humans to believe what they want to rather than what reality compels, because it is unpleasant.
