Sarkozy Takes on Muslims
Sarkozy says burqas not welcome in France
From the AP article Sarkozy states:
From the AP article Sarkozy states:
"The burqa is not a religious sign, it's a sign of subservience, a sign of debasement—I want to say it solemnly," he said. "It will not be welcome on the territory of the French Republic."
Sarkozy sees the power in standing up to Muslims, while Obama is pandering and apologizing. Sarkozy is smart and likes his new leadership position in the free world. And German Chancellor Angela Merkel is right there with him.

Sarkozy: an unlikely anti-dhimmi. He's right on and all Western countries should follow his rhetoric. If you dress like a ghoul (and it's not halloween), take a hike back to Dar al-Islam.
Sarkozy is spot on.
Meanwhile, the black bags walk all over the place in Falls Church, Virginia.
Sarkozy, Merkel, Berlusconi the new Big Three?
Kindly note not one of them has English as their native tongue.
So where are our guys? Why, eating ice cream cones and trying to figure out how to make Amreican DVD's work in A British player. . .
Pastorius,
Hopefully our next leader will do a better Job of standing up to the Jihadists, but our current one isn't doing much. And I agree with Sarkozy, the burqa is a sign of subservience and debasement. Hopefully, he and the rest of the French government will have the guts to openly condemn Sharia! Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Damien,
I think Sarkozy would be clearly against Sharia in the sense that Sharia calls for the killing of apostates, gays and adulterers.
However, I think Sarkozy probably would think it diplomatic to not call for an end to Sharia, because he would think that Sharia can be defined and redefined by Muslims as a group, and as individuals.
I don't think that is so true.
I think we must condemn Sharia as a body of law, because that would force Muslims to begin to explain themselves, and that would force a redefinition by the moderates.
In other words, I believe our words could help force a Islamic Reformation.
Ultimately, however, it is up to Muslims to define their religion.
Not only that, Damien. Being in proximity to people who refuse to show their face is extremely uncomfortable for most people. For that reason alone, the burqa/niqab should be banned. How would people react if I walked around in public wearing a balaclava everyday? Something tells me I wouldn't get a very positive reception. Nobody should be allowed to conceal their face in public, even if it's for religious reasons. The only exception to this in my opinion would be if the person in question has been horribly disfigured and they wear a cover by choice.
You can thank that to the feminists, NOT TO SARKOZY :(
The new row comes weeks after U.S. President Barack Obama made an apparent dig at France’s headscarf ban in a speech aimed at healing rifts with the Islamic world.
Sarkozy later said he agreed with Obama that Muslim women in the West should be free to wear the headscarf, prompting an outcry from French feminists.

SARKOZY IS A DOUBLE-SPEAK!
American politician's lust for everything Islamic has increased yearly for the past two decades. Things will only get worse the next time around....it's the reward for our silence.
(our love affair with Islam did not begin five months ago)
