Serena and Venus have been hounded and berated since the beginning of their careers, when they should have been celebrated.
Watch here as this dumb line judge, quite literally, steals a game from Serena. (Yeah, I know, I know, this has nothing to do with IBA, but it is Sunday night after all).
And, by the way, why do you think Serena and Venus are hounded like this? Is America, suddenly, afraid of a dominant winner? Or, is it just a problem professional Tennis has?
I think it's the latter.
You can read between the lines.
Check out the comment from the video poster at YouTube:
NO foot FAULT and accused of using bad languageIs this something against "American arrogance", or is it combined with something even worse?
The small asian line judge runs to complain as she alledges Serena threatened her life. This is how its done, the false calls come at times like these to make a player loose composure. The british did it with McEnroe back in the day. Tried & tested
By the way, note Serena's graciousness to her competitor.

victimology on Serena's part?...
I read this earlier today via Drudge...I saw a professional U.S. athlete exhibiting class-less behavior-twice ...
She reportedly said...
'If I could, I'd take this ball and shove it down your throat'

I was once a huge fan of tennis. I even enthusiatically taught this sport to kids - until McEnroe demonstrated to the next generation of little cretins they could be enormously successful as poor sports with foul mouths who could get away with routinely poor social skills/behavior.
This was a bad call at a critically important point in the match/set/game. These aren't kids . . .they are professionals with their financial livelyhood/professional standing-qualifications at stake. Serena had every reason to confront the judge on this call - albeit, she should have maintained her professional composure.
There are fines that can/should be imposed for unprofessional behavior. This particular episode is blown way out of proportion and unjustifiably feeds into the racial divide fostered in today's political climate.
These are professional gals with high standards, and hopefully will not detour towards the indignant Michelle O self-imposed-victim path.
What is the correct behavior pattern in the face of moronic judges, umpires?
WWDJD?
LEAVE THE FIELD
Find a way to publicly humiliate umpire or judge on their competence by calling attention to the blown call.
Then privately read the riot act to the the umpire or judges professional association and the tour's (MLB's) commission.
Nomatter the correctness of the call, Serena's actions IMHO were those of a child. She wasn't about to starve if she didn't win.
She was just pissed and exhibited a lack of self control.
I agree that she exhibited a lack of self-control. No doubt. I probably should have written more in my post.
I agree that John McEnroe had a negative effect on the sport. His behavior was childish to the extreme, because it was repeated.
However, I do think that some respect has to be given to the fact that, as the Anonymous commenter notes, "...they are professionals with their financial livelyhood/professional standing-qualifications at stake." Also, one must give respect to the fact that they play with their heart, and their adrenaline is pumping.
Most of us do our jobs sitting at our desk typing at a computer, or talking on a phone.
It is easier to remain composed when one does not have adrenaline pumping through their system on a constant basis.
Venus and Serena are a couple of black girls raised in South Central by a Dad who doesn't have the best attitude in the world. I think I understand where they are coming from, and I think they have done remarkably well in maintaining their composure over the years, given the treatment they've been subject to in the media.
As I said, they are the only thing worth watching in Tennis anymore.
But, that's just my opinion.
Well, Serena earned a new fan in me.
Yes, I think she behaved pretty much the way I would have behaved had some fucking idiot just stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from me through his/her stupidity.
Because that's what we're talking about here. She lost money and ranking, through complete stupidity.
This woman tossed her out of a game on a line call. Like the announcer said, "you just don't do that."
Some people may not know sports. Refs are supposed to stay out of close calls when games are on the line.
Look how gracious Serena was to the woman who DID NOT BEAT HER, BUT HAD THE MATCH HANDED TO HER.
And still, Serena was gracious.
