Oliver Stone's hero accuses Israel of genocide, and exterminating Palestinians

I love it when Israel is accused of genocide at the same time it is accused of apartheid because it will be outnumbered by Palestinians soon

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has accused Israel of genocide against the Palestinian people, telling a French newspaper that the bombing of Gaza late last year was an unprovoked attack.

"The question is not whether the Israelis want to exterminate the Palestinians. They're doing it openly," Chavez said in an interview with Le Figaro published on Wednesday.
The Venezuelan president, who has just completed a tour of Middle Eastern and Arab countries, brushed aside Israeli assertions that its attack on Gaza was a response to rocket fire from Islamist group Hamas which rules the coastal enclave.

"What was it if not genocide? ... The Israelis were looking for an excuse to exterminate the Palestinians," Chavez said, adding that sanctions should have been slapped on Israel.

Israel launched an offensive against the Gaza Strip on Dec. 27 2008 with the declared aim of curbing rocket fire from the region into southern Israel.

The land, sea and air assault lasted 22 days, and left some 1,300 Palestinians dead, according to medical sources.

Chavez said he recognised Israel's right to exist, as with all countries, but added that the Jewish state must respect the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

The Venezuelan president said he wanted more clarity from the United States on its foreign policy, adding that he was disappointed by recent U.S. dealings in South America, including the installation of military bases in Colombia.

"Sadly, the arrival of Obama brought with it a lot of hope, but little change," he said. (Reporting by Vicky Buffery)

Unmentioned in the article, of course, are the 6000 rockets which fell on Israel proper fired by HAMAS as part of their offical policy of destroying that state.

And more importantly, it's inhabitants

Apparently a problem this racist, dictator has little problem with

Speaking of Oliver Stone's good friends, check out the recent article by Robert Morgenthau on the Iranian-Venezuelan relationship:

The Emerging Axis of Iran and Venezuela (and why
the prospect of Iranian missiles in South America should not be dismissed)

Is Stone Chavez's Leni Reifenstahl?
An interesting piece.

You really don't get the point

And once again I see a post in a blog from a person that obviously have no idea of what is talking about or at least, if you do, you do not understand the meaning of human rights...

You talked about 6000 rockets fired against Israel, which is true, but you did not mention what type of rockets, which is to laugh, all of them are homemade rockets and RPGs, 99% of them impacted in isolated areas, which is not good at all for peace and that definitely are dangerous if by bad luck they hit a person, car or house, but look at the statistics, this desperate acts of war from extremist groups in the Palestinian State have done very little damage to Israel, never the less with some people hurt occasionally which is terrible and despicable.

From this is important to understand:

1.- It is not the government of Palestine but extremist groups
2.- The attacks are done with homemade rockets and RPGs

Now compare that with a full scale invasion and 1300 people killed, among them children plus the infrastructure destroyed again and again and again... A similar situation with the Lebanon.

If you would like to comment on this issues you should get the facts better and get your physical body in the place as I have done, BTW I was in Israel when both incidents happened.

I do not justify the death of innocent people under any circumstances, to fight gorilla is a nightmare and the government of Israel is dealing with that nightmare in Lebanon and Palestine, out of desperation this attacks are done as an extreme measure to reduce the forces of such gorilla operations, which I support but they should be more careful and respecting the dignity and the human rights. Not an easy task, but nevertheless it should be done.

The president of Venezuela condemn it, which makes sense, no mater how hard is for me to write it, because is the true, we need to be objective and see the facts, not to be followers without our own concept, ideas and understanding of what is right and wrong...

Do you understand that in your post you do not condemn the death of 1300 people? Which means that... You actually justify it?

Additionally you called the president of a democratic country elected not once but 3 time with enormous majority a dictator and as the cherry of the pie "racist"... which is hilariously absurd.

Venezuela is a country you should visit yourself to see with your own eyes how democratic it is and how much power the government have given to their own people, again you write about things you have no idea about

Your fingers are a precious tool when you write about things in=the web, however it is important that you do so with respect to the true, lying and calling the president of a state "dictator" and "racist" is very low.

These days is difficult to find the true out there, too many people like you posting...

It IS the government of Gaza: Hamas, along with the government of Judea and Samaria: the PA. Not one rocket fired from either place in the last 10 years has come from anywhere but Iran by way of Egypt. Whether or not there's huge collateral damage is immaterial. The point of terrorism is to instill terror. They get the job done. They should be glassified, except they're on sacred Jewish land which should not be desecrated.

Any leader who shuts down a single radio station, let alone 34 in a month, let alone nationalizes anything, is by definition a dictator, including Obama, including FDR.
